Nisha lacked meaning in her boring night life and soon her friends too felt the same way after some odd years later. One by one she saw them fade away and each time she too felt she will soon follow behind. She let out a light sigh that alerted her friend who stared out the window staring at the lights that lit up the street. "That was the 20th sigh you did this night," he softly said as if to whisper but her sensitive ears could hear him. She frowned at her devilishly handsome friend Vivian. He had long flaming red hair and chiseled features that would give a Greek God for a run for his money. While others would be left speechless, she on other hand treated him like any other, but his bright red hair is what caught her eye.
"Why must you count everything Vivi? I hate it."
Vivian looked at her awkwardly and responded, "It's within our nature."
"Please don't remained me." She pouted in a spoiled manner. Her long black eye lashes lowered in silence as the moonlight spilled into the dusty dark apartment. The light highlighted Vivian and soon Nisha. She sat in her artistically twisted sliver metal seat that was a stark color contrast to her bold 16th century red puffy dress that highlighted her otherworldly curves and extremely large breasts. Her youthful face, red eyes, skin, and ink black hair was blindly stunning that made Vivian a commoner compared to her. If anybody were to see this very scene it looked something taken out of a painting. Vivian lightly shook his head as he looked over at his long old friend.
"What is it that you want to say?" Nisha calmly asked.
"Do you really want to go through with this?"
She sweetly flashed a smile towards him as she said, "Tonight will be like all nights—"
"Don't lie to me, you cannot lie to me."
Nisha once bright eyes became dull and her smile soon disappeared. Her large eyes looked towards Vivian weakly that confirmed his suspicions. His once clam face contorted in disbelief as he could only stare back at her.
"I am…so sorry Vivian, my dear old friend. I grow so tired every day."
Vivian grabbed onto her small slender hand as he kneeled before her twisted chair. Nisha saw the trembling of his body even though he tired to keep his himself clam. She was surprised from the sudden display of the emotion he showcased to her. Every time a friend left their circle he wouldn't even bat an eye, nor plea to another. Yet he, her proud friend would kneel and plea to her. Vivian's gesture warmed her heart greatly and she patted his hand in a comforting manner. This time she genuinely smiled sweetly to him.
"Vivi, every night I asked myself what is my purpose? Why am I here? And the only conclusion that I find myself coming to is that I am flawed and thus the world rejects me."
"Nonsense! You're perfect, if you're not here what will become of us?"
"I've lived far too long. What do you find so perfect about me? I am but a statue that will never decay. Is this what life should be that you call perfect?" She laughed in self pity as she continued, "Heh, let me correct myself. I almost forgot, I am a being that lacks life, thus my undead immortality leaves me exhausted from all of this. Don't you understand Vivi?"
A red tear slid down his flawless face as he embraced Nisha who sat unmoving on the chair. The sight startled her, she have never expected that Vivian would cry his heart's blood for her.
"I love you, Carmilla."
She turned her head at the man that stood by her side all these years, that hid his feelings very deep. He even called her true name from old. It left her with a strong sense of nostalgia and guilt. The only reason she felt the latter because despite his confession, Nisha could never feel the same for him. Vampires were always paired with a destined one, only once in their immortality. Anything else besides their destined one was either a plaything or them trying to fill a hole in their heart. Vivian was the latter which caused her to feel guilt towards him.
"You know my name is Nisha now." She hugged back as she whispered in his ear. "Carry me to the roof."
Vivian shut his eyes at her rejection, but followed her orders. He truly did love her, even though he never found his destined one in his immortality he would always still love her. He lift her up in a princess hold and looked at her in surprise and grief. "Now you know how long I was preparing for this." Nisha said as she wiggled her exposed withered foot free for him to see. Her dehydrated skin clung to her brittle bones that rattled each time Vivian walked forward. The sight of it broke his heart but he continued forward.
Nisha felt grateful to have Vivian at her side. He knew how long she awaited this day just by using his vampire senses to check the condition of her body. It took her a long time to starve herself to the point mummifying 89% of her body. Even though he felt dread from the whole ordeal, a smile never left her beautiful face. She knew that she was being selfish with her wish, but she couldn't help but be excited.
Vivian walked at mortal's pace despite the fact he can flash himself to the roof. This was his way to rebel against Nisha's wishes. She wasn't angry at his slow pace but it made things more excited for her. Its been such a long time she felt such a rush.
In no less in 20 minutes Vivian held onto Nisha on the roof as the night began to turn into dawn. She looked beyond the cityscape at the horizon in anticipation.
"Do you really plan to leave me?" He once said in hopes to change her mind.
"Yes, this is my choice. You are not strong enough to interfere with my plans."
He held tightly to her fragile body as the sun slowly began to rise from the horizon. She saw many sunrises in the past in the flesh due to the fact she was an extremely strong entity. She had no fear of her heart getting pierced, nor burning up in the sun, and a mortal being strong enough to slay her. But now was a little different, Nisha weakened her body in an extreme state be starving herself and injecting large amounts of arsenic capsule filled with lye to decompose her body, after that the sun can do the rest of the work.
"Vivi, thank you. I know I'm selfish, and I know I hurt you by doing this." She softly said.
Vivian looked straight forward at the raising sun that would soon claim his beloved's existence. Due to his age, he no longer needed to fear the common things that caused the death of his kind. So he wanted to stay behind with her. He wanted to be with her during his last moments, and so he stood there as he felt the unknown source of heating siring inside Nisha.
"Is this what you mean by the earth rejecting you?"
She nodded her head as she said, "Yes, we are few and number and is designed to die out. Unlike most creatures our reproducing rate is 1 to every 1000 vampires. Now there's only six of us left. If that isn't rejection, then what is? We are meant to die out."
Red tears once again began to roll down his as grief fill him. She took one last look at her very good friend and knew that he finally understood. With that in mind her dashed up into the air like a bullet as if some invisible force pulled her up to the heavens. She was too fast for him to react in time and when he tired to go after her, he felt his blood churn that caused him to be fixated to his spot. No matter how hard he tired to follow after her, he couldn't move.
"Carmilla!!!" He yelled desperately that caused the glass windows in nearby towers to break apart in a sonic blast.
Nisha didn't look back and finally reached the earth's hemisphere to explored. At this view, the sun was overbearing as light reached everywhere. She smiled despite the burning pain from the sun and the capsules began to corrode her inner being. Instead of only allowing external elements doing all the work, she ignited her last remaining powers to self-destruct. She was happy and at peace. Her dream was finally realized.
A flash of blinding light erupted in the hemisphere and flickered away.
