In the private room of "Rising Raven" clubhouse.
Three ladies who are dressed up in branded clothes and accessories, fumbled with their whiskey glasses as they waited for their friend who just ditched them for her boyfriend.
Nah, A stupid girl who just ditched her besties for a good for nothing man whom she holds feelings for a decade.
"Hey, do you think Lanlan might end up doing something nasty, tonight?" Su Min who got slightly sober broke the eerie silence by filling up her glass once again.
"Nasty?" Xie Na's eyebrows creased as she tried to recall and broke into a peal of laughter when she understood the true meaning behind Su Min's queries. "Are you talking about her hickey challenge?"
Xie Na pointed and straightened her posture as if she was imitating Zhi Lan's attitude.
"Drop by my condo, I will let you count my hickeys." She said cockily and brushed her hair away, just like the way her friend acted a while ago.
"Hickey challenge! It has a nice ring to it."
Cai Hong, who was scrolling down her phone screen, commented without giving much attention to their discussion since she managed to strike the first goal of their plan - "Hammering down some sense to Zhi Lan, part - 647"
"Did we go overboard with teasing? Lanlan must have felt bad." Su Min stated with a guilt-ridden voice and looked at Xie Na as she continued.
"After all, they have been together for a while."
"Together for a while- that's the problem." Cai Hong raised her eyes from the phone screen and began to explain the true intention behind their joint effort to agitate Zhi Lan.
"It gives a false idea that they are in a relationship even though they aren't. At least it happens to people who are interested in Zhi Lan. Do you know how many men she has rejected so far?
"If we start counting them, then almost every man in the imperial city will be on that list." Xie Na answered as she lit a cigarette.
"Well, can't argue with the fact that none of them is capable enough to be a contender for Captain Wan." Su Min exhilaratingly shared her opinion and went on praising Wan Yi Jun like a fangirl.
"Whether it's his looks or his character, Captian Wan is the ultimate definition of perfection. I would have done the same if I was in Lanlan's place."
"Ewww!!!" Xie Na scrunched her face as soon as she heard something disgusting and unruly.
"When are you going to realize that this world doesn't revolve around Wan Yi Jun?" She snapped back with a huff.
"There will be thousands of men who are far better than him. And, Missy, not everyone is stupid like Lanlan to waste their youth for the sake of stupid teenage love." Xie Na reminded once again.
"Yes. That's right. I can't believe she ruined ten years for someone who treats her as a friend." Su Min agreed with a wobbly nod.
"But her patience is running out and she might do something outrageous. That's what I fear the most."
"Outrageous things on that stone-hearted person? Nope. It's not going to work." Xie Na declared and took a puff only to come up with an absurd thought.
"What if he is not into women?"
"Oh my god, why didn't we think of that, earlier?" Cai Hong almost screamed when she thought of the possibility of Wan Yi Jun having a cute little boyfriend.
A cold-blooded Alpha and a sweet little Omega - the popular troupe of BL stories.
"I don't know. But if there is someone who can break his stone-cold heart and tie him around their little pinkie finger, I, Xie Na would bow down before that person and address her or him, 'Master'" Xie Na proclaimed before letting out a sneer.
"So are you all trying to overlook the possibility of Lanlan doing cheap tricks like- drugging him and getting the deed done?" Su Min asked to clarify the doubts boiling inside her head.
"Yaaa!!! She is not some heroine from your novel to drug the hero and forces him to date her." Xie Na growled like a wild beast, loud enough to break the soundproofed walls of the private room.
"Her dad is the major general of imperial's police force. Do you think she would do something that would affect her father's status?"
"Well, she could also use her father's status to get married to him. But that stupid girl won't do that." Cai Hong complained as if she is concerned about Zhi Lan's poor life choices.
"From what I've learnt about Wan Yi Jun, I can guarantee one thing- He will never fall for not just Lanlan, but any other women's tricks." Xie Na made a point to conclude their argument.
"Nevertheless, I'm damn sure that Lanlan will go home crying, tonight."
While the trio were arguing with each other, the main subjects of their discussion were sitting infront the bar counter, like a couple on their first date.
"What would you like to drink?" Wan Yi Jun asked the woman who sat with an alluring smile, drawing everyone's attention to her.
Hearing his question , Zhi Lan swayed her upper body towards him, while her sultry gaze penetrating his dark midnight irises.
"Sex on the shores." Her raspberry lips curled coquettishly and demanded in a low, sensuous tone.
"What?" Wan Yi Jun reply was quick enough to tell that he was taken aback by her answer and obviously, by her coyettish actions to 'cough, cough' seduce him.
"It's a cocktail." Zhi Lan elaborated and looked at the bartender to confirm her order.
"Yes, miss."
"What about you?" She tilted her head in Wan Yi Jun's direction and enquired about his choice of drink.
"I will have an old-fashioned whiskey." He placed his order and initiated a casual conversation while glancing at the crowd on the dance floor, who were enjoying their precious time without any hesitations or worries.
"People in the imperial, surely like to party."
"Ofcourse, they do. That's why I invited you over." Zhi Lan proudly stated and moved closer to him,
"Thanks." Wan Yi Jun gave her a gentle smile and handed over her cocktail before picking up his own drink from the counter.
"I was literally on cloud nine when I heard that you got transferred here." Zhi Lan excitedly said as she took the glass from him. "How long has it been since your last trip to imperial?"
"I don't remember. Maybe 14-15 years." He gave her a vague reply and twirled his drink using gentle hand movements.
"Really? I thought you frequently visits capital since you work in the pol-"
"Lanlan, can we just talk about something that is not work-related?" Wan Yi Jun, interrupted her before Zhi Lan could finish her words.
"Oh, I forgot that you are off-"
"Shush!"
Zhi Lan's words struck at her throat when Wan Yi Jun placed his finger on her soft lips to stop her from talking.
"Do you want to hit the dance floor?" He suggested while glancing at the group of youngsters moving according to the rhythm of loud peppy music.
For a long moment, Zhi Lan wasn't able to think coherently. It felt like her brain just froze since there were too many things to process right now.
First of all, Wan Yi Jun, a person who utterly despises attending social gatherings, accepted her invitation.
Secondly, even though he had a busy day at work he came to attend the party.
Thirdly, he bought her a drink and even asked for a dance?
Woah...if things are escalating in favour of her...then, this night is could be the beginning of something she has been dreaming for a while.
While Zhi Lan's mind created wonderful scenarios in her mind, Wan Yi Jun retracted his palm and gently touched his ear.
"Let's hit the dance floor?"
"What did you say?" She retorted in incredulous disbelief. "You are really going to dance with me?"
Zhi Lan asked once again to confirm whatever she just heard.
With a haughty smug hanging upon his thin lips, Wan Yi Jun gently clinked his whiskey glass with hers and moved closer to her side.
"Try me." He cooed in a low, bewitchingly sweet voice.
The moment his hot breath laced with the intoxicating scent of liquor, brushed on her skin, Zhi Lan felt her cheeks burning in an unknown ectasy.
However, on the other hand, Wan Yi Jun, who paid no attention to her reddened cheeks or palpitating heart, finished his drink as if nothing has happened.
"The main dance floor is packed with people. How about we move somewhere less crowded?" He dropped the next ticking bomb on Zhi Lan.
"Less...crowded…?" Zhi Lan almost choked upon hearing his words. Being a frequent visitor of clubs and pubs, She has witnessed what happens in the less crowded shadowy places inside them.
"Oh good lord, finally are we going to do the deed...that too in public?" She almost screamed in her head but somehow maintained a dead-pan expression on her face, hiding her excitement.
"Where?" She casually asked.
"3 'o'clock position from the counter." Wan Yi replied while adjusting his wrist watch as if he is preparing to let go himself on the dance floor.
"Or how about 7?" He reverted his eyes to the dance floor and asked.
Though, his choice of words were odd, Zhi Lan decided to play along with him on the same track, but little bit differently.
"How about 6 or 9?" Zhi Lan spat out the words with a newly found courage. Well, if he is planning to take a step towards her, then it's better to keep her pace upto him.
That's what Zhi Lan calculated in her mind when she dropped some hints of her true motives.
However, a certain someone, who is known for his genius brain failed to notice them and completely ignored her suggestion without any second thoughts.
"We got work tomorrow, so let's starts from 12." Wan Yi Jun said and took a step towards the dance floor, totally forgetting the lady beside him.
Since there is no point in arguing whether he noticed her intentions or not, Zhi Lan followed the man who strode towards the crowd, like an obedient puppy.
As soon as the couple left the bar counter, a woman claded in pitch black top to bottom, approached the bartender for a drink.
"One large old fashioned whiskey, please." She placed her order and leaned on the glass counter while facing the lively dance floor.
Though one might think that she just checking out the people, but in reality, her sharp eyes were carefully following Wan Yi Jun as she waited for her drink.
"Miss, your drink." The bartender placed the drink on the counter top.
She turned to take the glass and slipped a 1000 dollar bill for the bartender as a tip.
For a mere second, the man at the bar counter was left dumbfounded by the generosity of the tip. He abruptly turned his gaze to the customer to thank her.
A peerless beauty!!!
His eyeballs popped out in absolute bewilderment as he looked at the customer.
There is no offense in entitling the lady who stood before him as one of the marvelous creation of God.
"Thank you. Have a great evening, Miss,"
He shared his gratitude with a flash of teethy grin and placed the tip on his pocket.
"Yeah. I'm having one." She replied in a mellow voice and took a sip of her whiskey before turning in the direction of the dance floor.
Her eyes were glued to Wan Yi Jun, who was now moving away from Zhi Lan.
With a smirk adorning on her face, she stood at the bar counter, watching the sneaky movements amidst the fully charged crowd of the night club.
"Well, the actual party begins, now." As soon as the words fell from her mouth and group of uniform clad police men marched inside.
All of sudden, the loud peppy music abruptly stopped, killing the party vibe lingered inside the club.
As the crowd loudly gasped in disappointment, an even louder order echoed inside the four walls of the night club.
"Freeze!!!!!"
The tall and sturdy officer who lead the team, roared and pulled out his gun, sending chills to everyone's spines.
"Welcome home, Wan Yi Jun." The woman muttered under her breath and poured the rest of the bitter sweet liquid down her throat.
"Enjoy your party!"
