As Hua Jin wiped away her tears, he heard her say, “I want to see that child.”

When they arrived at the ward, Jing Qi was not there. Hua Jin guessed that she must have gone to make arrangements for discharge.

Jing Qi said that the child had been recovering very well and there was no need for him to stay in the hospital any longer. Every day in the hospital added a day’s worth of expenses.

Pushing open the door to the ward, Hua Jin tiptoed into the room holding Yun Shishi’s hand.

The child was sitting up on the bed, staring at the world around him with his wide eyes blinking and full of curiosity.

Hua Jin had specially brought a gift for the kid—it was a Le Zhi pink unicorn plush toy.

He walked up to the bed and helped Yun Shishi to a seat. He bent over to look at the little guy and gently said, “Uncle is here to see you again! Are you surprised?”

“Yiyaya—” The child reached out his hand and actually raised a tender finger to point at him. His eyes widened in curiosity.

Hua Jin tapped on his tiny finger before placing the toy unicorn beside him.

The unicorn was medium-sized. A child of Youyou’s height would be able to hold it with one hand.

However, the little guy was only seven months old after all. When he opened his arms, he was able to put them around the toy.

It was obvious that the little guy especially liked this furry toy. He hugged it and rolled around on the bed. The seven-month-old child had already learned how to crawl around on the bed and was especially energetic.

Not being able to see, Yun Shishi could only hear a series of bell-like laughter coming from the bed. It was extremely pleasing to the ear.

Although the person was a stranger, upon closer inspection, she seemed familiar, as though she had seen her somewhere before.

She suddenly recalled seeing this woman in the advertising posters at the bus station.

She endorsed a high-end cosmetics brand that was exceptionally expensive. When she was shopping at the mall, she had come across the brand’s counter in the cosmetics section on the first floor. A poster of this woman was also displayed at the counter.
