Chapter 42 - 42: My dear comics.

With this news at hand, Edam of course want to see her as Gahan then led them to the room.

Opening the door, the young orange golden haired girl of about twenty something years old could be seen on the bed down quietly... seemingly unperturbed by their arrival as she just looked at them calmly.

Her gaze was somewhat lost and hazy but a calm and profound atmosphere was surrounding her making people comfortable when they stand beside her.

A cool fact was that, her face was now healthier although she was still weak.

"Hello, are you okay ?" Edam asked as he slowly approached her.

However Gahan stopped him before and said.

"Wait, I forgot to tell you but, she seem to have lost her memories..." He said in a heavy tone.

"What...?!" Edam as well as Hancock were both surprised when he said that.

"Then how will we brought her back to her home... ?" Edam muttered disappointed but then his face lit up as he recalled that Hancock maybe knew some infos about her.

"Right... Hancock do you perhaps know something about her ?" Turning to face her he asked.

"I'm sorry Edam, we never discussed about where we came from, we only did exchanges our names and some words, that's all..." She replied sadly for not being able to help him.

"Ah, it's nothing...Oh right ! What is her name then..." He asked curiously as he had completely forgot to asked her name yesterday during the "great cleaning."

"From what she told us, her name is...Stella..." Hancock said quietly and then added in a heartfelt tone.

"After her father was defeated in gambling she became a slave...and was bought by a... scumb-.., I mean a celestial dragon..." She lost her temper for a moment as a deep disdain was felt for a short instant.

"So she paid the price on her father's behalf..." Edam muttered in a quiet tone and then kept quiet for a moment while looking at her.

Gahan too didn't said anything and kept quiet.

And while they were looking at her quietly, she too gazed back at them quietly before finally opening her mouth to speak.

"Who might you be ? And why am I here ?" For someone who had lost her memories she was pretty calm at least.

"Eh ? Uh..." Edam didn't knew what to say but Gahan stepped forward and said.

"Edam was the one to bring you here after finding you." He introduced Edam while pointing at him.

"Oh...I see...then I thank you..." She bowed her head lightly in gratitude to which Edam replied. "Ah don't worry..." a smile present on his face.

"..." She replied calmly yet something seemed to bother her a bit because her face was changing continuously.

"Eh ? Uh, you alright...?" Gahan asked worriedly.

"No I'm not, it's...it's just that you say that I have lost my memories but... I feel like...I feel like I have someone to see..."

"Oh..."

"I don't know why but...It feel like..."

As she said that a drop of tear trail down her cheeks unknowingly to herself as she wiped her tears and stared at it in confusion not knowing the meaning of such a tear drop.

Her expression was one of deep sadness as she kept wiping her tears streaming down her cheeks.

"..." Gahan didn't say anything anymore and just looked at her with pity.

"It's...it should be her loved one..." Hancock said recalling something.

Edam was even more at loss about what to do as it was the first time he faced a case of amnesia... but he still opened his mouth to talk with her a bit to lift her mood even if just a little.

"Do you remember who...?" Well it was certainly a stupid question to asked that to someone who lost its memories...but he still tried...

"I...I don't...It's just, I feel that I have to see him..." She said a little confused and agitated as her eyes turn wet again.

He was the sole ray of light in her life when everything had gone wrong as she too was the only one in his life too.

She knew him but forgot him, she loved him, but forgot him, she didn't remember who he was...

But it seems that even if her mind forgot her heart did not !

Seeing her a bit agitated the two guys decided to let her calm down a bit while Hancock stayed behind to tell her everything she knew about her for a couples of minutes.

After a couples of minutes, they finished as Gahan then offered her to take a breath outside and have a little something to eat as she was as thin as a piece of straw.

She did ate something (not much but...still something) before going back to rest again as Edam and Hancock then next.

As they were eating, Hancock then told him that the guy she want to see was named Tesoro and that he too was enslaved by a world noble but later on given to another world noble when this former lost a bet or something.

They were then separated and only saw the other from far away and rarely at that.

After finishing the story they were then informed that they would reach Saboady's Archipelago in three days.

Edam didn't know why but Garp was extremely busy talking all day long to the Den Den Mushi much to his own anger as everybody could hear him raging from ship control office.

And weirdly enough even Zephyr was busy but was much calmer than Garp.

...

In the afternoon, after having chatted with the sisters, he offered them to read his few comics to entertain them as he didn't have anything else for them.

He had quite a lot, one of the collection he had was named, "Mighty junior" a comic book that he really appreciated a lot or another one called, "The little mage " or the last one called " Dragon's wish."

He had appreciated every words that he read, every images he saw, everything about those comics.

Every single one of his comics were preciously kept on a bookshelf in his room away from dirt and dust.

As a fact, they were so precious to him that Garp didn't threw out those comics as he knew that although he didn't read it anymore he still treasure them a lot.

However on his fourth birthday the year he was first sent in the forest to "train" just before Luffy was born and the same year Edam actually met for the first time this little brother of his, Garp told him that he would not buy anything anymore and that he should save his pocket money himself to eventually buy his comics.

That day Edam nearly cried out...because that just mean that he had to choose between buying his comics or buying candy and stufff...

He realized that day... the great value of money causing him to sunk into banditry to steal money from bandits...Ahhh the monkey ghost was born that very day... What an awful story to tell.

But...!

The great little cook Edam was also born that day as he realized that cooking himself was great and helped greatly in saving money.

Edam became half independant financially speaking since then.

...

And anyway just like this, the girls passed the time by reading Edam's comics while he himself finally began to read the book Zephyr give it to him.
