…
Time then quietly passed as Edam learned the Life Transfusion technique from Gowasu.
He was first taught the basic principles behind this technique.
At the end of the day, this was pretty much giving all of one's lifeforce to another person, sacrificing one's life to bring back to life another person, a Godly technique.
It would be the second technique taught to him by another God, with Yamote's 'Splitting Pain' technique to share one's burden being the first learned.
Two Godly techniques. One to link someone to another to alleviate one's pain and the other to transfer life forces.
And to Gowasu's surprise and shock, Edam's ability to comprehend Life Transfusion was quick… extraordinarily quick and baffling, even to an experienced Grand Supreme Kai such as himself.
Gowasu, being way too kind, didn't have the heart to teach him nonstop and told him to rest sometimes despite his unwillingness.
And it was one of these few moments of rest that Edam experienced something incredible… He actually experienced his first conscious time-travel!
It actually happened when they were drinking tea…
Gowasu was peacefully drinking his tea while watching over a rather violent humanoid race, and then. Zamasu started to advocate for their destruction while Gowasu ȧsserts that it is the place of the Gods of Destruction to carry out that act, not the Supreme Kais.
Wanting to prove him wrong, Gowasu led them toward the place where the Time Rings were and then took one of them.
The three then teleport to the humanoid race in question.
"That Ring will create the passage? Hmph, leave the rest to me! My Brother is the Divine Bird of Time and I of Space after all! I can use time to some extent!" Those were his words. He was extremely proud of himself.
Everything then went well, as they came back in one piece.
…
…
The guy only took three days' worth of time to comprehend it fully.
'What's going on?! Since when was it so easy to learn Godly techniques? It took me a whole decade!'
'Look! Even my poor little Zamasu, praised as a remarkable genius, can't compare!' Gowasu exclaimed in his mind as he looked at Zamasu who was having some trouble.
Aside from that, Edam took advantage of this opportunity to ask a lot of questions, learning many things related to the Gods, like the roles and ranks of other deities.
He also learns about Zeno and sure enough the little guy had quite the background being the Omni-King, King of the Gods, and Ruler of Existence!
If people knew of his thoughts, they would think of him as a crazy guy.
Anyway…
And today, like the past three days, Edam once again asked some questions.
"Ah, right, Master Gowasu… I had a question for a long time, although it's not related to Life Transfusion, can I…?"
"Hmm? What is it?" Even though he was a bit stunned, Gowasu was kinda happy to teach him it seems.
"If I'm a divine being, does this mean that I will live beyond the living scope of a human?"
"...? Well, yes and no… in normal times, a divine being does have a longer lifespan than humans, but in the end, it all depends on their God ranks. The higher your position as a God is the longer you live. For example, we Supreme Kai have nearly a hundred of millions of years worth of lifespans…"
"Oh…"
"As for our God's position, we are Creation Gods the opposite of Destruction Gods. Since the Concepts of our positions support All Creation and are necessary to the balance of Life, our lifespan is, of course, significant, do you understand?"
"...? Well, that's one difficult question, I have to say that you being a natural-born deity is a mystery even to me. We Core people are naturally born divine and our duties are set at our birth, though there can be some exceptions, of course, so I'm not too clear about it…"
"Oh, okay…"
"But, umm, ah wait…" Gowasu reflected and then thought about something. "There is a way... it's not a hundred percent accurate and isn't meant for it but well…"
Saying that Gowasu took a crystal ball and a table out of thin air and set it on the table.
"Oh, a crystal ball for witches?" Edam said curiously.
This earned him Zamasu's snort. "Hmph, this is a divine item, don't compare it to a mere mortal witch's item…"
"Ah… sorry…" Edam laughed slightly with a twitching smile.
"Ahem, anyway, here is how we're gonna use this…" Gowasu cleared his throat and spoke.
"This crystal ball is normally used to watch the mortal's worlds, but it is also used to look for and communicate with the different gods throughout the multiverse… it will give the exact coordinates of a god as well as his place of residence, it is a very convenient tool to travel around for business…"
"That's right…" Gowasu nodded in satisfaction.
"..." However, Edam wasn't as enthusiastic as him. 'The thing is… How will it find my coordinates when I don't even have a residence?'
Seemingly seeing the doubts on his face, Gowasu smiled. "Don't worry, this is a divine item, if we're lucky the item will even understand our intention and will do its job accordingly. It has never failed before after all…"
"Well, let's give it a try first…" Gowasu said with a smile as he placed his hands over the crystal ball.
The crystal ball was blank and dormant, not showing anything at all.
"Find Zamasu!" As he said this, the blank and emptiness disappeared, as a multitude of stars seemed to swirl in before being replaced by the image of a planet with different moons revolving around.
It then zoomed in and showed Zamasu looking at the same crystal ball.
"It indeed worked, but let's try it again…hmm, let's see, ah I know..." Gowasu nodded and said. "Find Chronoa!"
And then, the interior of the Crystal ball once again revolved around but for a longer period than before finally showing something.
And near the pond, a small girl could be seen, seemingly attending to a large bird.
"Toh, Toh!"
"My my, stop moving I can't brush your feathers correctly-..." The girl said and stopped mid-way, before looking at the sky.
"...? Who is it?" The small girl tilted her head slightly and asked curiously.
A sort of imagery projection then appeared in the void of space as it showed Gowasu, Zamasu, and Edam.
"Gowasu?"
"Ah, sorry to trouble you Chronoa, we were just testing some things…"
"What exactly?" Chronoa asked curiously as she glanced slightly at Zamasu, her eyes holding a bit of wariness, which was of course unnoticeable.
"Well…" Gowasu cleared his throat and explained. "We're trying to find this young man's rank as a deity." As he said that he clearly showed Edam's face to the 'camera'.
"Uh, hello?" Edam replied after hearing her calling him out as if she knew him.
"...Ah, cough, hello, how are you…?" She nervously spouted out.
"Uh… I'm fine? Umm, and you?" Edam asked back politely but very awkwardly.
"Uh, I'm fine too…"
"Okay then…"
"..." A very awkward silence took place.
*Cough*
"Anyway Chronoa, see you another time, I know you're very busy, so goodbye…" Gowasu bade his farewell.
"Ah yes…" Chronoa was strangely embarrassed by the situation.
…
*Back in universe 10*
The Crystal Ball then retracted its power as it became empty again.
"Don't worry, she's normally never like this, but her work is the most important on the Multiverse, maybe it's taking a toll on her so she can't be blamed."
"Now, let's get to business, if it can find even Chronoa then it is good to go, ready?" Gowasu asked Edam.
"Yeah…"
"Okay then… Find Edam!" Gowasu said with his hands over the ball.
And…
"..." Nothing...
Literally, nothing happened…
The crystal ball didn't even move the twinkling little stars in it…
"Huh?" Gowasu exclaimed slightly. "Find Edam!"
"..." Nothing…
"Do you have another name perhaps?"
"Hmm, you can try with Eden…"
"Eden? A beautiful name…"
"Alright, find Eden!"
And…
"..." Nothing…
"A family name?"
"Oh, umm Monkey D. Edam…"
"Find Monkey D. Edam!"
"..."
"Find Monkey D. Eden!"
"..."
"...Is it broken?" Edam bluntly asked as a deep frown appeared on both of their faces.
"Hmm…" A profound silence has taken Gowasu before he exclaimed. "Wait, we can still try something else…"
"Please, place one of your hands on the ball too…"
Edam only nodded and did as he was told.
And as soon as he did that…
The crystal ball finally moved and showed something.
It was a palace standing above a huge jellyfish located in between golden clouds and what appears to be outer space.
"Oh my God…!" The sight was magnificent and beautiful, but the moment Gowasu saw that his face paled like a white sheet as he hurriedly tried to withdraw his divine power, but it was already too late…
"Oyah?" A voice was heard as the crystal orb's sight seemed to be forcefully pulled toward in a certain direction.
In the next moment, the Grand Priest's face was revealed to the three of them. "Supreme Kai Gowasu? What a surprise…"
"Oh my God! The Grand Priest!" Gowasu's face turned even paler as he hurriedly bowed down to the ground on his two knees. "I beg you to forgive me, Grand Priest, this is a terrible mistake, I didn't intend to peek at the Palace!"
"Hmm? I'm curious, tell me more..." The Grand Priest asked.
"Yes, the matter is like this…" Gowasu explained their struggles and then showed Edam. "This is the young man, for a reason that I ignored, it showed Lord Zeno's palace when he touched-…"
"Pff, so it was you…" To Gowasu's surprise and shock, the Grand Priest smiled and laughed slightly when he saw Edam's face.
"Hello, Grand Priest, it's been a while!" Edam too was kinda happy to see him.
"Indeed…" The Grand Priest once again smiled. "I understand, I will let it go this time… to use it well, you should have used your two hands, and one last thing, if you want to know your 'God rank' using this orb will be a bit useless as it won't really show anything useful… anyway, farewell Eden..."
Saying this, the orb's divine sight withdrew.
"..."
"Phew…" Gowasu breathed out heavily while wiping the sweat on his forehead.
"Edam?"
"Yes?"
"Ahem… umm, if it is not too rude, can I ask how you met the Grand Priest?"
"Oh, well, one day, while I was severely hurt, I met little Zeno who asked the Grand Priest to heal me to top shape…" Edam calmly recounted this small story of his while Gowasu was growing paler and paler as the story went on...
'Oh… My… God!' Gowasu shouted at the top of his lungs in his mind.
'Little Zeno?! What the hell!?'
"Umm, Master Gowasu?"
"Y- yes?" Gowasu unknowingly found himself speaking to him in a respectful tone.
"Although the Grand Priest said that it would be useless, he didn't say that it wouldn't show anything, so I'm curious… Can I?" Edam lifted his hands over the orb.
"Oh, of course…" Gowasu nodded and said.
"Alright, Find Eden!"
Something happened…
Though it wasn't like usual where stars would start to swirl in. Instead of that, the ball first instantly turned jet black before gradually a few pale colors here and there.
At first glance, it looks like a galaxy of some sort, but only keen eyes could discern that it was an infinite and vast expanse of nothingness.
"What?!" Gowasu exclaimed with extreme agitation. "That's the… the Void Realm…?"
