The wind was blowing stronger and the drizzle was getting heavier but since Minjoon sudden proposal, none of them had said anything. The silence was deafening that it was almost unbearable but neither of them tried to spoke up.

Partially because Haeun was still trying to digest everything that Minjoon had said and mostly because he too thinks that it was quite a sudden thing to say out of the blue. He can't deny that he had made the situation between them pretty awkward.

He should have known this was going to be her reaction from the start. Well technically, this should be the standard reaction of someone when a stranger suddenly asks you for your hand in marriage. Nobody in their right mind would accept such a proposal, even if that person were to be someone too beautiful to exist.

Honestly, Haeun didn't know what to do. Even after thinking about it multiple times, it just seems out of place for her. A marriage? She has never thought Minjoon would offer such an idea just to help her out. Even if she wanted to agree, there was no way she could with her current circumstances.

"I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by that. How can offering me a marriage help me out from my current situation? Yes, you might possibly give me a home to live in and food to survive but how can you guarantee my safety? Can I really trust you with my baby's future and my life? Just how sure are you that my life won't be filled with any hardships?"

With Haeun suddenly breaking the silence between them, Minjoon was a little taken aback by her question. He realizes that she was seriously considering his offer, knowing fully well that she couldn't accept him regardless of what his reply was.

Minjoon knows the reason why Haeun was still contemplating his proposal. She is technically in a tight spot where she has to consider between her baby well-being or her pride and ego as a woman. There was also the issue about her not being an available woman.

Even if she wanted to accept his offer for the sake of her baby, there was no way she would say yes. Because the fact that she had been a widow since long before was still not known to her. So to what she thought was not possible, is actually something that can be done. But the question of how to explain the reason behind it was a big problem for Minjoon.

How can he tell her that the damn bastard of hers had divorced her since long ago? That he knew all this information was because he was searching for her? Would she believe all of this if he explained it to her?

Many things were running inside his mind and he just can't figure out how to reply back to her. Should he just tell her about everything here? Is that even a good choice seeing that she can't even remember what had happened between them? Maybe he should wait it out till she can vaguely remember him before explaining everything.

"Give me your trust and I promise you that I won't betray it. I can't explain to you about it now but I will explain to you everything once you remember me. I'll put my whole fortune and my life at stake to guarantee the safety of both of you guys and to do everything in my will to make sure no hardships ever befall you and our baby. And if ever anybody tries to bother both of you or even to think of messing with you, I will not hesitate to perish them to the depth of hell. "

Though Minjoon's words seem to intrigue suspicion as to what he meant somehow, it made Haeun believe in him a little. She felt that he was serious about protecting the both of them and giving them a life full of happiness without any sorrow.

She honestly can see him being a father figure, seeing how he teases her earlier and how determine he sounded when he replied to her question. No doubt he will be a great father to her baby and pamper her with everything but it still won't change the fact that he was not her real father.

Her precious angel has a father and she has a husband. Though he made them homeless and was nowhere to be found, she can't just marry another guy. She was still someone else's wife and as long as they were not divorced, they are no other reason that would allow her to marry Minjoon.

And what about his family? Would they even accept a widow like her? Just which parent would accept their son marrying some unknown woman with a newborn baby into their family? Like the same theory as her not being able to trust him whom she doesn't know, how can they trust her when they don't even know which background she came from.

With that thought in mind, she finally got her answer. No matter how serious Minjoon was about wanting to help her and her baby, a marriage between them was not going to be possible. Maybe she can try asking him to help her get a job instead. At least, she can rent a room somewhere and feed both of them with the money she earned.

Before Haeun manages to reply back to him, Minjoon cut her off. He knew exactly what she was going to reply and he was determined to make her change her mind, regardless of how hard it was going to be.

"Look. I know you're going to reject me by saying it's not possible but I know better. And I also know that you want to trust me but you're afraid of what my family would think. No matter how I persuade you, these two reasons will be the cause of you rejecting my proposal. So let's make a deal. Stay with me for two months and if by then I still can't convince you, I'll agree to help you out with anything that you need without any complaint."

Haeun looks at Minjoon as she thought about it. She currently doesn't have a home and not enough money to feed herself for the days to come. Worst still, she has a baby with her and she really doesn't want anything bad to happen to her precious angel. And it's not like she has a choice to be picky, to begin with.

"Fine. I'll stay with you for two months and if I still feel like it wouldn't work out, you will have to agree to find me a job and a house for the both of us to stay in. That's all I'm asking. For now, for the sake of my precious angel, I'll try to put my trust in you."

Haeun sounded defeated but deep inside, a part of her was relief. At least for the next two month, the both of them have a place to stay warm and won't be starving in hunger. They wouldn't need to face the rejection of people kicking them out and will have a place that is safe and far from danger.
