Chapter 19 - Greetings

"Wake up! We still have a lot of work to do today!" Clyde spoke in a dissatisfied tone

Looking outside the window, Clyde is sure that it was already quite late in the afternoon

It was customary for the members of the Imperial Family that got married to greet the Emperor and the Empress the next day

The only fortunate thing was that there is no specific time for the greetings

However, the Royals would still try to greet the Emperor and Empress as early as they could

Royals that does the greeting this late in the afternoon are either doted or fools

As Ryden is not a doted Prince and more of a fool, he would surely receive dissatisfaction from his father. Not to mention, the Empress would use this against him

"Listen to me, you understand? This is what we should do when greeting your father and the Empress..."

Clyde briefed the Prince for today's 'play'

They can't let the Emperor be dissatisfied with them and they also have to prevent the Empress from acting against them

Ryden listen attentively as Clyde explained things in the simplest way he could think of. Only after that did they tidy themselves, separately of course although they used the same bathroom

After tidying themselves, the two walked out of their bedroom with Ryden holding his wife's hands to support him

The new Princess Consort was wearing blue-colored clothing that made him look even gentler

He looks frail and weak and one look was enough to see that he has difficulty when it comes to walking

The maids that saw them can't help but blush

Yesterday was their wedding night and after that, Clyde has difficulty walking

Not to mention, even though he tried his best to hide it with powder, some marks were still visible

Not to mention, it was clear to see that the Princess Consort was not used to using makeup. Evident in how unnatural the color of his neck becomes

It's like he desperately tried his best to hide the marks on his neck but failed to do so

The Prince on the other hand seems to be injected with some drugs. He was filled with vigor

His smile reaches his ears and his facial expressions make it seem like he was floating in the clouds

His face was filled with satisfaction and he will even sometimes shoot his wife a doting look that would immediately make the latter blush a crimson red

"Your Highness, the carriage is already waiting for you" the Head Butler of the Prince's Manor - Masty said

His tone was polite but Clyde is sure that the butler wasn't really polite inside

He took a mental note of that, deciding that he would clean the servants of the Manor. But for now, greeting the Emperor and the Empress was the priority

With a look that screams nothing could ruin his good mood, Ryden guided his wife to board the carriage and they head to the Imperial Palace

Even before the Prince and his Consort arrived at the Palace, the Emperor was already notified of it

As expected, the Emperor showed his displeasure. As a result, he let the two wait for him for more than an hour

Even when he finally decided to meet them, the venue that the Emperor chose was the Throne Room

Although it wasn't exactly a rule, the Emperor and Empress would typically meet the Imperial Children in a dining room to spend some time together

By letting the two wait for him and also meeting them in the Throne Room, the Emperor was showing his displeasure

However, as soon as the Prince and his Consort arrives, the Emperor's displeasure was quickly lessened

Ryden was still supporting his wife with his hands, clearly, the two had one hell of a night together last night

Ryden doesn't seem to pay much attention to the two most high ranking people in the Empire that was sitting on their Thrones

All of his focus was on his wife until he reached a close enough distance to those two

"Greetings to the Great Sun and Moon of the Empire!" Ryden greeted enthusiastically while grinning from ear to ear as he kneeled down

With how happy he looks, others would find it hard to be angry at him

"G-Greetings to t-the Great S-Sun and M-Moon of the E-Empire!" Clyde 'forced' out those words out of his throat

His voice sounds hoarse as if he screamed the entire night. He also tried to kneel but the 'pain' in a certain part of his body causes him to grimace and he stumbled

Fortunately, his husband immediately caught him with his arms

"Your Majesty, please forgive my consort! T-this was all m-my fault" Ryden apologizes with a red face

Despite not explaining things, people could still guess that the nightly activities cause Clyde to be unable to kneel properly

Despite that being the case, the Empress still wants to make trouble for him

"How disrespectful. Is your wife trying to ignore etiquette now that he becomes a Princess Consort?" The Empress questioned coldly

His eyes staring at the two with hostility

If it was the Ryden before, he would surely say something stupid that would just make the Emperor even more displeased with him

However, the Ryden of today was different as he was 'briefed' by his wife

"Your Majesty, my wife doesn't mean to be discourteous. I-it's just that, I-I was t-too hard on him last night" Ryden explained with a red face, completely dispelling the displeasure from the Emperor

Everyone present in the Throne Room aside from perhaps Ryden is smart. Even without getting all the details, they could still fill in the blanks

Turns out that his son wasn't being disrespectful to him, he just tasted spring last night and he can't get enough of it

As such, Ryden and his wife woke up quite late

The Emperor is also an Alpha and he knows how pleasurable the first time is and he won't blame Ryden for it
