Chapter 61 - NOT EDITED YET

When Jermaine woke up, his senses were filled with pain from his arm that Ryden twisted

The bones in his arm cracked and if it wasn't for the Duke spending a huge amount of money, his arm might have become disabled already

If that were to happen, how can Jermaine continue living? How would he become the next Empress when he us disabled?

As such, the Duke with all his means did his best to cure his omega's arm. Although it still was not fully healed, Jermaine at least would recover back to normal

When Jermaine saw the cask in his entire arm, he was instantly remined of what happened

His face pale from the immense fear that he now had over Ryden

If the madman can explode even with the presence of the Duke then what can Jermaine do?

He originally provoked Ryden all because he thought that the bastard would not dare to do anything against him when the Duke is present

He did not expect that Ryden would be that much of a madman that he would not even fear his father

After all, aside from the Emperor and Empress that treated Jermaine well and spoiled him, everyone else in the Empire is afraid or respectful of his father

No one has harmed Jermaine with or without the Duke's presence aside from Ryden

However, although Jermaine was traumatized by what happened to the point that he never want to see Ryden ever again, his anger still got the best of him

"Father! Father! Father!" Jermaine shouted as if he was being hysterical 

The incident at the wine party alone already filled Jermaine with endless rage. What more now that Ryden did the same thing in his own home?

Jermaine has to vent this anger and hatred of his in some ways

Due to how loud the spoiled brat was shouting, the servants were alerted and they immediately informed the Duke and Duchess and they soon arrived at Jermaine's bedroom

Since the Duchess merely had shallow stab wound in his chest, it took him a short time to regain consciousness 

His condition was not as severe as Jermaine that got his whole arm twisted

As such, he accompanied his husband to check on their child that he deeply loves

Seeing the state of his child, the Duchess felt immense pain on behalf of Jermaine

In his eyes, none of his children deserves to be hurt in any way. That causes his hatred for Ryden to grow

"Baby, we are here. Does it still hurts?" The Duchess asks, trying to comfort his child

Seeing his parents, Jermaine calmed down a bit but he was still really agitated

"Father! That bastard! I want that bastard to die! Look at what he did to my arm! He should die!" Jermaine shouted, full of anger

For him, he would only have his revenge if Ryden were to die but that just causes the Duke to frown

"Are you saying that I should commit treason? No matter how bastardic the 6th Prince is, he is still a Prince. Killing him is too much. Besides, with that God of War's prowess, do you think he would easily die?" The Duke replied

He came in his position with his abilities. He flattered the Royal Family, showing loyalty to the person that holds the peak power in the Empire 

Part of the Rothland Duchy's power right now is the support from the Emperor. However, that support would turn into a sharp sword if he were to kill an Imperial Prince

With the Duke's authority, he can bully and mock the Prince in some ways but killing is off the table

If the Emperor found out, all the things that he worked hard for would be gone. The entire family might even be executed together

"Husband, look at what that bastard did to your child and I! Are you not even going to avenge us?!" The Duchess said quite harshly

Since his baby wants Ryden to die then he shall die. Anyway, in his eyes, that wasn't too much as Ryden indeed hurt the both of them

"I would naturally take revenge for what he did to us but I also wouldn't give the Emperor a reason to execute us all for treason"

"Jermaine, I have spoiled you too much. It was alright to speak ill of that bastard in private but to do it in front of that madman, you put all of us in danger! You might even have the guts to say those words in front of the Emperor. You are putting this family in danger!"

The Duke for the first time ever scolded his omega child. It can't be help, he really felt the threat of death back then

Although he cares for his family but at the end of the day, the Duke is still a selfish man

Since his life is endangered and if Jermain were to act like that in thr Emperor too, all the things that the Duke worked hard for would all be for nothing

As such, he can only be harsh to his child to teach him a lesson

"From now on, you are grounded. Do not leave the Manor for a whole month and reflect" the Duke said and after that, he went out of the room

With his child and wife's personality, he was sure that they would not easily accept his decision 

Seeing that he cannot seek help from his father, Jermaine turned to look at his mother with pleading eyes

"Mother, I want those bastards to die but father is not helping!" Jermaine complained and the Duchess look at him dotingly

"Don't worry, if your father is a coward, your mother isn't!" The Duchess replied before he had a maid grab him some papers and pen as he wrote a letter that he had them send to his family

6th Prince's Manor

As usual, Clyde is sitting in the chair with stacks of papers in front of him as he dealt with the work he should finish as soon as possible 

While he was focus in his work, Clyde suddenly felt someone tapping him in the shoulder

As there is really only one person that is allowed to enter the bedroom any time they want, Clyde knew that that person is Ryden

"Hmm?" Clydr enhummed with a questiotone as a response. His eyes never leaving the papers in front of hin and that made Ryden dissatisfied 

"At least look at me" Ryden complained like a child and Clyde can only sigh

If he don't give the 'child' what he wants, he might just die from irritation at how Ryden would act

As such, Clyde turned his head and the first thing he saw were flowers before the flowers were moved aside revealing Ryden's silly face

"Tadaaaaa!!! I made this bouquet for you. Look, it has the same color as your hair and eyes!" Ryden said proudly while showing the flowers again that were purple and silver in color

"Y-you… why are you giving me flowers?" Clyde asks a bit embarass. This was like the first time that he received flowers from someone 

"Well, you have been working too hard while I'm just idling around so I decided to make something for you. How's that? Do you feel now that you have the best husband?" Ryden said boastfully

His first sentence was already heart warming but he just has to ruin it by acting arrogantly 

But even then, Clyde still feels warm inside and he appreciates it. Ryden has always been doing things towards him that no one else does but with how busy he is, Clyde don't have much time to give to Ryden, much less show some effort

After all, the bar would open soon and aside from that, Clyde is also familiarizing himself to the things in the Empire

From the Royals to the Nobles, and even the commoners. Only when knowing the Empire well could Clyde continue climbing the ladders of power

As such, he almost have no time and he would only rest from time to time to have some tea

This made Clyde feel a bit guilty towards Ryden. He can't give him time and effort in their relationship 

It's like only Ryden was tryinng

Clyde received the flowers with a heavy heart and he sniff them a bit as if he wqs memorizing the scent of the flowers

"You… after the bar stabilize, do you want to go a vacation? The sea, the mountains, forest or whatever. You can choose where we should go" Clyde suggested to lessen his guilt

Anyway, he realized that with him joining hands with Kervy, there should not be that much danger on their lives anymore, right?

If he is in Kervy's side after the 1st Prince completely fallen, the Empress should not treat them that badly anymore since Ryden would be a huge pillar of support for the 2nd Prince's ascension

In that way, wouldn't the Empress have no choice but to keep them alive for his son?
