Magic in this world is determined by birth. Noble blood lines such as the one Jahrico comes from are more powerful then regular common births. But that can change with a beast connection. When a Tamer binds a Drako to his or her soul his magic is mixed with the magic of the Drako. As for affinity's humans are born with an affinity to one or more of the 8 Elements, but it is very rare to have two and there is only one person in this current time can control 3...or more. They are as listed.

Nature- The ability to control plants and healing magic. Few are born with the affinity and is considered very rare and sought for in a knight. It is considered one of the four Origin Elements and considered the second most powerful because of its powerful support roles.

Earth- The ability to control the ground, a verily common affinity. It is considered a weaker element but only because the majority of it's users do not use it to it's fullest.

Water- The ability to control liquids, this is an uncommon trait only found from those who are born in the Superbia Archipelago. However the name is just common, many powerful knights have been known to control other things like liquid metals and in rare and dark cases blood.

Wind- This ability lets you control the movement of air. An instance of this is when Elias cuts down five trees with a single swing. It also been rumored that powerful knights could change the weather if they so chose.

The next four are sub-variants. Unlike the four above who came to this world first, these came after the stabilization of the continent. They are also considered very powerful attack oriented magics.

Ice- Because of this being so rare many do not know the heights of witch this power can rise to. It is considered the powerhouse of the four.

Fire- Unlike the other three this is common place among most all humans. However, it being common does not make it weak, it is in fact one of the highest attack oriented magics. This is the signature magic of Jahrico, along with an unknown affinity.

Light- Abilities from this magic have varied from attack, defensive, and support roles. It can control the light of the sun or other sources, from simple light in dark places or creating a beam of burning energy. This magic is also rather easy to infuse objects with, most retired knights with this affinity would make objects that harness light.

Finally we arrive at dark magic. There are no known instances of this magic being used by humans, because of this very little is known about the magic. The one who reported such magic was Jahrico himself, but his studies had to many constituency flaws and so it was dropped by the Academy research team. It is rumored by many on the team that the magic could change or manipulate time, but it was just a theory.

As for the Serpent or Dragon variant, this is not an affinity but something else entirely. It is the most rare with only 3 people known to have had such a Drako. One exist in the legends of the 5 heroes, and another exists in the time of Elias's story.

There is no clear tier in this world. Each magic can me controlled and manipulated to any extent. But rarity is another case.

There are four groupings of magic, common, uncommon, rare, and the last group. This group holds Serpent and Darkness. Earth fire are on the common group. Wind, water, make up the uncommon group. As for rare Nature and light are in this grouping.

This was an explanation of the magic of this world and to explain their uses and properties. The main reason I wanted to do a chapter like this was not to bore you with unnecessary story elements, and to clear up something that reader will see in the future. If it seems that Elias knows thing you don't, its because of Jahricos teachings. In fact the information listed above would be what Jahrico taught Elias and his other students.

If you are still confuse on how Drako change the magic of it's tamer that will be explained in later chapters like this one.

Please comment down below your questions and I will reach them in later bits. Thanks for reading the novel and surviving the boring nature of my writing.
