Chapter 32 Mini Dungeon (Freestyle Fight Club]
The ‘Jin Yu Freestyle Fight Club’ looked rather high-class; it made Chen’an realize that he might be more in need of exercise than he thought.
Was that why he was here? To serve as a demonstration?
Fortunately, Han Ya was entitled to a 20% discount because of her position as a top coach, reducing the lesson fees from 5,000 yuan a year to 4,000 yuan. After she took the money from the ATM, she led Chen’an to the fourth floor via the elevator.
This was the first time Chen’an was visiting a fight club, and he was a little excited.
The elevator dinged, and the door opened to reveal a front desk with a sign that read ‘Jin Yu Freestyle Fight Club’. They walked out of the elevator and were greeted by a stunning receptionist behind the counter.
“Welcome back, Coach Han!”
Han Ya nodded with a faint smile. “This is one of my students. Help him get a membership card. This is his membership fee.” She placed the money on the counter.
“Alright, Coach Han. You can go in first. You can get the membership card from me when you leave.”
Han Ya nodded and led Chen’an in.
When they arrived inside the club, they were met with the sight of various training equipment. Most eye-catching of all, though, were the two arenas; one big and one small. There were already a number of trainees in the club, some of whom were sparring in the arenas.
Chen’an did a rough count. There were about twenty-five people in total. Ten of them were students like him. Both males and females were present, with the latter outnumbering the former! The others looked to be adults, three of which were women. The remaining few members, dressed in tank tops that showed off their firm muscles, were probably coaches or professional fighters.
“Our club offers lessons in combat and fitness.” Han Ya pointed to the two arenas in the middle of the arena. “I signed you up for fitness lessons because they’re cheaper. But don’t worry, I’ll teach you combat skills too.”
There was a clear disparity between the two; the combat course cost 20,000 yuan a year. Chen’an simply didn’t have the financial means to afford it right now.
Paying Han Ya back for this fitness lesson alone would require his past New Year’s money and him to scrimp and save for at least a semester. Maybe even that wouldn’t be enough.
This was his last year of high school, so his parents had told him that his New Year’s money wouldn’t go to his bank account. Chen’an had wanted to use that money to buy a new laptop; now it seemed he would have to put it on hold.
When the people in the fight club saw Han Ya enter, they all greeted her warmly.
“Coach Han, you’re finally here,” one of the coaches said. They had been pestered by several students asking questions prior to her arrival.
A burly coach asked, “Coach Han, why don’t we practice again today? I’ve improved a little after being defeated by you last time.”
Chen’an was taken aback.
“Coach Han, teach me, please. I want to be as skilled as you. No one will dare to take any liberties with me in the future.” A female fighter with freckles, dressed in a tank top and looking like she weighed more than 150 pounds.
Chen’an mused that she already seemed more than capable of warding off threats-physically or otherwise-even without Han Ya’s help.
However, it was clear that the crowd’s enthusiasm was genuine.
At this moment, the system, which had been silent for a long time, finally came to life again.
“Dungeon detected. Do you wish to open it?”
Chen’an’s heart skipped a beat. He immediately focused on the preview interface of the dungeon. [Mini Dungeon: Freestyle Fight Club] (Estimated Haul: Basic attribute points, micro dungeon treasure chest, mini dungeon treasure chest, medium dungeon treasure chest.)
[Requirements to begin: 15 achievement points]
Chen’an realized that this dungeon wasn’t the same as the previous micro dungeons. Its rewards included medium-sized treasure chests, which was new.
It seemed that this kickboxing club presented a far higher level of difficulty than his gym class-as seen in the required achievement points.
Fortunately, he had completed the task from his ‘strange encounter’ with Han Ya. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have sufficient achievement points to unlock the dungeon. He might have to place making a trip to the snack kiosk outside school on his agenda, lest he didn’t have enough achievement points to unlock the next dungeon he encountered.
Chen’an had already tasted the benefits of increasing his attribute points; he had no reason to turn down this rare opportunity. He chose to unlock the dungeon.
“Dungeon is being created…”
“Dungeon complete. Mini Dungeon (Freestyle Fight Club) is loading…”
“Main and side tasks have been extracted…” “Dungeon has been unlocked. All the best.” When the system finished updating, Chen’an’s gaze fell on the panel displaying his tasks.
[Main task: Complete the training requirements of the club coach.]
(Side task: Defeat as many club members as possible. For every fitness course student defeated, rewards will increase by 5%. For every combat course student defeated, rewards will increase by 15%. For every fitness course student defeated, rewards will increase by 50%.]
Both tasks didn’t seem very difficult, but how was he supposed to differentiate a fitness course student from a combat course student?
Just as he was thinking about it, he caught sight of the monster titles floating above each member’s head.
(Level 1 Kickboxing Weakling]
(Health: 50 / 50]
(Skills:???]
[Note: The low-level trainees who signed up for the fitness course have poor physical fitness and have not received any combat training. They are neither strong nor skilled.]
Most of the students had this title, along with one adult woman.
(Level 2 Kickboxing Amateur]
(Health: 70 / 70]
(Skills:???]
[Note: The junior trainees who signed up for the fitness course have a certain level of fitness and exercise often, but they don’t have much professional ability related to kickboxing. They are more skilled than Kickboxing Weaklings, if barely.)
A few students and weak-looking adults had this label, including the remaining two grown women.
[Level 4 Kickboxing Fighter] [Health: 100 / 100] (Skills:???]
[Note: This trainee’s skills are stable, and they have undergone enough combat training to be a threat. Be careful!)
To Chen’an’s surprise, the freckled female tank whom he had characterized as being well-capable of defending herself was also at Level 4.
[Level 5 Kickboxing Photographer]
(Health: 120/120]
[Skills:???]
[Note: A senior member of the club. He has been in the kickboxing club all year round and is not passionate about improving his strength-only watching the female students and coaches spar. Still, he shouldn’t be underestimated.)
Good god, why were there so many questionable people around? Chen’an ought to counsel him.
