Chapter 36 Rewards
Chen’an could have sobbed in the wake of BOSS Han Ya’s defeat.
It had been so damn difficult to kill her.
Han Ya stood and let Chen’an rest for more than half an hour. He must have been exhausted; even her arms were a little sore!
Fortunately, it had been worth it. The dungeon BOSS had finally been defeated!
The system notifications were a little overwhelming, so Chen’an wanted to be alone for a while to cool down.
“Master, I need to use the bathroom!” He ran to the men’s washroom without looking back.
When he reached the toilet, the first thing he did was find an empty stall and lock the door.
Now came the most exciting part.
This was the first time Chen’an had defeated a dungeon BOSS-and his first time receiving a chief treasure chest!
He took the chest out from his inventory. It appeared in his hands; the size of a food delivery carrier, dark red and sporting carvings of various birds and beasts.
Chen’an rubbed his hands together and slowly opened the chief treasure chest. There were no special effects. He peered into the treasure chest.
Inside the huge box lay a female vest and a gold coin.
With a sinking feeling in his stomach, Chen’an picked up the vest.
[Congratulations on obtaining new equipment: Han Ya’s Sports Vest]
(Equipment Name: Han Ya’s Sports Vest]
(Equipment grade: Light gray]
[Equipment Type: Clothing)
(Equipment Attribute: Vitality +1]
(Equipment Durability: 22/30]
[Note: Han Ya often wears this sports vest during her kickboxing training. It represents her years of sweat and tears. Wearing it in front of Han Ya has a chance of making her enter a violent, or shy mode.]
Great. He had worked so hard to kill the dungeon BOSS, only to end up with a reward that he couldn’t even… Well…
Chen’an placed the sports vest in his inventory and was rewarded with shock.
He was dressed in Han Ya’s sports vest!
And all it had taken was a flicker of his will.
To his surprise, it fit perfectly; the sensation soft and comfortable. The only downside was that it was a little short, exposing his navel.
After discovering that the sports vest could be worn, Chen’an’s mood improved. Other than it being too short, there would be no trouble-as long as his secret wasn’t revealed, only he would know what he was wearing! He stole a glance at his attribute bar.

He was no longer in his defensive mode, so his equipment attributes returned to their original values. Chen’an removed the gold coins from the chest.
[Congratulations on obtaining 200 gold coins.]
There were only two items in the treasure chest. After taking them out, it slowly disappeared.
The rewards from the chief treasure chest had been pretty good, especially the sports vest. The additional Vitality point had increased Chen’an’s endurance and Lifeblood, which would bode well for his training down the road.
Just then, he noticed another notification from the system.
[A new item has been unlocked in the system store. Please check it yourself.]
Chen’an quickly opened the system store and found that the items available were no longer limited to the two mini potions he had unlocked at Level 1. A short survey told him that he now had eight items in total.
The new items included: a medium health potion, medium energy potion, double EXP card, double gold card, double achievement card, and an equipment repair talisman.
(Medium Health Potion: Available at Level 5. Allows you to restore 100 drops of Lifeblood in 10 seconds.]
[Medium Energy Potion: Available at Level 5. Allows you to restore 100 energy points in 10 seconds.]
The price of both potions was 100 gold coins a bottle.
He moved on to the three cards. As their names suggested, his total experience points, gold coins, and achievement points would double for the duration of an hour.
The double EXP card was worth 200 gold coins; the double gold card cost 300 gold coins; and the double achievement card would require 500 gold coins to purchase.
Finally, there was the equipment repair talisman worth 1,000 gold coins.
[Equipment Repair Talisman: When used on equipment with insufficient durability, it can restore the durability of the equipment by 20 points. However, its effects cannot exceed the maximum durability of the equipment.]
The repair talisman wasn’t very useful to Chen’an now, because his least durable piece of equipment was ‘Cao Zhijiang’s Lesson Notes’, and even it was worth 17 durability points. There was no telling how long it would be before the repair talisman came in handy. The most useful items he had unlocked were undoubtedly the double cards.
As Chen’an’s level increased, so did the experience points needed to level up. The experience points he earned from killing monsters were generally only around a dozen-far too slow a rate to gain hundreds of such points. The double EXP card would change that. Unfortunately, he hadn’t reached Level 5 before defeating the dungeon BOSS, and hence missed out on a huge number of experience points. There were still some trainees in the kickboxing arena. Chen’an scanned the price of the double EXP card and decided to buy one to try out.
The card appeared in his inventory, and his gold coins decreased by 200. Afterwards, Chen’an added the 1 potential point he had earned to his Power.
For a moment, he felt as if his body had grown a little stronger-including his arm muscles!
After confirming that there were no other attributes he could improve, Chen’an left the toilet and returned to the kickboxing club.
Han Ya looked puzzled when he came back. It might have been her imagination, but Chen’an’s whole demeanor seemed to have shifted after his visit to the washroom-not to mention his overly fast rate of recovery!
“Master, I should be able to practice with the other trainees now, right?”
Han Ya came back to her senses and looked at Chen’an, who was breathing steadily. Finally, she nodded.
“Although you’re only a beginner, you’re improving faster than usual. Yes, you can spar with the others.”
