61 Chapter 61: Someone to trus

Name:Part Wolf Author:obsessedWithWolves
"I'm full." Elize said, lying back down.

She was feeling bloated after eating three plates of roasted chicken. She had been hungry after their intense make out session. As soon as she had voiced it aloud, a large meal appeared on the table-like stone slab beside the bed. Every time she finished a plate, another took its place. Elize had dived in without a second thought while Zack had held back, doubtful of the sudden appearance of food. He was convinced that it was some sort of evil sorcery. But after a while he had given in, unable to resist his hunger.

"So am I." Zack said, leaning back against the wall.

The two sat in silence for a while, cherishing the peace that they had acquired after going through much trouble. Ever since she woke up in her mansion, so much had happened to her. She had so many questions to which she didn't have answers to. Elize sighed, drawing the blanket against her neck.

"Elize?" Zack called, breaking the silence.

"Hmm?" She asked, without looking at him.

She knew that he too had many questions to ask her. But she was not ready to answer them, not yet. She was scared that her world will start crumbling before her, if she did so. Luckily, he respected her silence on certain things. She loved him for that.

"What is this place" He asked.

"I think we're inside the cave at the origin of the stream."

"Hmm…that seems like a plausible explanation.." Zack said, absentmindedly.

Elize turned towards him, sensing the slight sarcasm in the tone. Didn't he believe her? She thought, confused at his reaction. She remembered the Tohar Sehlah tell her all about the place while Zack was still recuperating. What would his reaction be if she told him that she had talked to a stone? A mythical stone at that. Would he believe her? Also, how could she reveal such secrets without knowing whose side he was on? What if he were just like the witches who just wanted her to be a sacrificial offering like others before her? She had to make sure of that first.

"Can I trust you Zack?" She asked blankly, staring straight at his face.

"Hmm? What kind of question is that?" He asked, turning around with an incredulous expression.

Elize bit her lips in tension. Her heart started beating faster, nervous to ask the question. But she was determined. She had to know.

"If you had to choose between the lives of your pack members and mine, who would you choose to save?" She asked in a single breath.

Zack's brows raised up, his forehead wrinkling, as he regarded her with a confused look. Elize's heart sank. Was he going to choose his pack? Of course he was going to choose his pack. He is their Alpha. Why would he choose her- a witch who has lost all her powers?

"Is this about the pack attack?" He asked, tilting his head to the side.

"Are we calling it "the pack attack" now?" She asked.

Zack sighed.

"Well, Elize, you know the pack is not in their right minds as of now. Your body-"

"Oh now you're blaming ME for the whole thing?!" Elize asked, cutting him off. She stood up in anger and started walking away from him. But after taking a few steps she realized that she had over reacted. She turned around with her hands on her hips and stared at him angrily. She didn't want to give in just yet.

Zack's expression told her that she was right. He didn't mean that. She had certainly over reacted, Elize thought guiltily. Why was she on an edge today?

"Babe, you know that's not what I mean." He said, shaking his head. Opening his arms wide, he pleaded with a pitiful expression, "Please come here."

She wanted to go to him, to be inside his warmth, to-

She couldn't continue the line of thought as a deep negativity filled her. No she shouldn't give in. What if he was just like the others?!

Elize shook her head. "No. You stay there and tell me who you will choose! Them or me?!" She asked, her voice raising.

Zack threw his hands up in exasperation. "What nonsense are you talking about Elize?! Of course it would be you a thousand times over." He said, with a tone that said that it was the obvious answer.

As soon as he said that, she felt lighter, as if something dark had left her mind. Confused, she looked around. What was that feeling? She thought, slight shivers running through her body. She had certainly felt something right now. Something

"Babe?"

Zack's voice brought her back to the present.

"Oh..okay.." She replied quickly, putting on a slight smile.

The smile didn't reach her eyes. She was bothered. Was something wrong with her? This was the first time that she had noticed it. Has it happened before? Had she overlooked it?

"Come here, let me hold you." Zack said, opening his arms wide.

With a sigh, Elize walked over and sat on his lap. Zack's arms encircled her, warming up her body. She felt right at home inside his arms. She snuggled closer, placing her head on his chest. A mild scent of forest and honey emanated from him. She took a deep breath, taking in his scent. This was how it was supposed to be, she thought. She didn't want to move. She wished that they could stay here, in this cave forever. No one would find them, and they'd always be together. The cave would provide them with food whenever necessary.

She looked up at her mate and gave him a wide smile. Zack smiled back, showing off a small dimple at the side of his mouth. Elize poked at it curiously. Was it always there? She didn't remember him having such feature. His hands caressed her face, gently tucking her hair behind her ears.

"Now tell me, what is bothering you so much?" He asked, his deep blue eyes staring into the gray of hers.

Elize shrugged, looking away. "I don't know where to begin…" She trailed off, a hundred thoughts straining her memory.

Zack raised her face towards his, putting a gentle hand under her chin. With a reassuring smile he said, "You can start by telling me where we are and what we're doing here."

Elize nodded. She knew that she could trust him now. She shouldn't have had any doubts in the first place. He had literally torn his pack members apart when they were attacking her.

"Well, we are in the cave from where the stream originates." She said, as a matter of fact.

Zack's brows raised. "You're serious." He said, his eyes wide.

Elize nodded.

"It is my fault that we-"

Before she could finish, Zack interrupted her by suddenly grabbing both her arms and holding her away from him. He stared at her with surprise.

"But how?! So many people had tried getting into this place for centuries! How did you get in?!" He asked, unable to believe what he was hearing.

"What do you mean?" Elize asked, not able to understand what he was going on about.

The Tohar Sehlah had said that it had let her in, as soon as she fell in the stream. If all someone had to do was fall in the stream to get in the cave, then why didn't anyone figure that out till then? Was she an accidental genius or were everyone dumb?

"So many people have tried to get inside here in hopes of finding the legendary Tohar Sehlah! Legend says that the mystical rock is somewhere inside the cave. If we're in here, then that would mean that…" Zack trailed off, unable to finish the sentence.

"About that," she said awkwardly, "I have found the Tohar Sehlah. It was the stone that showed me the pool of life and the food-"

"Wait the pool of life is real?!"

Elize nodded. "Uhhhh…Yeah. We were just making out in it a while ago…"

She watched as Zack's expression turn into a horrified one as she began explaining.
