121 Chapter 120: Belated happy birthday baby

'Nina?' He reached out through the pack bond.

'Finally! You're here!' Nina replied, sounding relieved.

He could sense some tension in her voice. He paused right outside the door, raising his brows. Loud noises were coming from inside the building- one being particularly familiar to him. 

'What is happening?' He asked his packmate, curious.

'Nothing to worry anymore. The Luna is doing mighty fine on her own.' Nina replied with a hint of pride.

Zack kept his ears to the door, trying to hear beyond the loud music that was playing inside the hall. It was not too difficult as he was a werewolf. His hearing abilities were quite good. He could even hear Elize breathe in her room on the top floor if he were to stand outside her hostel. He had done that often, whenever he couldn't get any sleep. 

"Tonight, I'd like to turn over a new leaf in my life." Elize's voice rose from the other side of the door. "I want to move on from the past and become a better, stronger wolf. And I hope you all will help me reach that goal."

Murmurs rose in the hall, followed by her little speech. Zack felt a strange pride swell in his heart as he listened to her. She had indeed changed after her transformation, just like Irina had told Aileen in the fire message. He knew that there would have been other particular changes that would have happened to her body. The violence of the emotions that he felt all along would now be shared by her as well. She'd feel the full brunt of their bond too. His heart started picking up pace as the thoughts of his mate pushed into his mind.

Suddenly the doors opened, shaking him awake. Zack looked towards the direction, taking a step back politely. Lang Jin stood there in the doorway, staring at him with his mouth wide open. 

"Zack? What are you doing here?" He asked, looking surprised. 

"The same as you?" Zack asked, raising his brows, "Although, where are you going in such a hurry?"

"I uh- I'm exhausted." His cousin replied hastily, "I think I need some sleep. We have class tomorrow as well."

Zack could see that something was troubling Jin. His cousin looked nervous at seeing him, but mostly irritated at something else as well. he couldn't figure out what it was. 

"Are you sure you're okay?" Zack asked, concerned, "Why is Eun Ae not with you?"

"Let's not talk about her. We're not on talking conditions right now." Lang Jin replied, his jaw clenching in irritation. With a tight smile, he stepped forward, "I'll see you around Zack." He said just before taking off.

Zack stood there, confused for a moment before finally going in. He cleared his mind of the thoughts of his cousin. He had a much more important thing to do tonight, he thought looking at the girl who had his heart standing in one corner of the room, whispering something to Agatha. Sweet warmth spread from his heart to the rest of his body as he took slow steps towards her through the crowd. He wanted to give her a surprise. He hoped that she wouldn't notice him till his hands were already wrapped around her.

Elize suddenly laughed out at something, eliciting a shocked reaction from her friend. The sound of her laughter felt like music to his ears. His eyes scanned the curves of her back as her body shook. He could see that she had grown in all the right places. His hands itched to wrap itself around her slim body. Zack scowled in disappointment, as he could only see the breadth of her back from where he was. He yearned to turn her towards him. 

Just as he wished, she suddenly turned, her eyes spotting him among the crowd instantly. His heart skipped a beat. It felt like he was seeing her for the first time all again. The shift had changed her in ways that someone could only fantasize about. She was breathtakingly gorgeous as she stood there, staring at him in disbelief. Their eyes met and he couldn't help but be drawn into the depths of her sparkling gray eyes. 

'Mate!' His wolf roared inside his head in a sudden thrust of joy.

Elize chuckled, biting her lip as she looked at him with eyes full of love. He could feel the yearning in her through their bond, making him smile. He couldn't be more proud of the woman standing in front of him as he spotted the wine blotches on her dress. It must have taken enormous control from her side to not lash out at whoever it was that threw it at her. She was only a newborn in werewolf terms, and she has managed to overpower her animal instincts in such a short while. His pack must be enormously blessed to have a Luna like his mate, he thought. He stopped inches from her, his heart beating hard against his chest at the proximity. He quickly removed his jacket and pulled her close. 

"Come here, you're soaking wet," he said, wrapping it around her. 

He held her close to his chest, not wanting to let go. The warmth from her body was seeping into his own, making him shiver in desire. 

"Zack.." Elize called, her heart beating like crazy.

Zack looked down at his mate. Her huge eyes were looking right into his own, melting his insides. His grip on her waist tightened, pulling her further towards him. Her chest pressed against his torso, as her moist lips quivered in surprise. He couldn't resist her charm anymore. He was going crazy and his wolf was howling high in his head. 

"Belated happy birthday, baby." He said, bending down to meet her lips.

Elize responded with a force that he had never seen in her before. Her delicate fingers weaved through his hair, holding his head down as she hungrily sucked on his lips. Zack grunted in ecstasy, pushing his tongue into her mouth. Her fingers tracing patterns on the back of his neck left trails of fire in its wake. He was consumed by her being, forgetting his surroundings. He was in heaven. 

"Ehm." Someone cleared their throat loudly, forcibly drawing their attention away from each other.

Elize quickly broke away from the kiss, smiling shyly at him. Zack winked at his mate and turned towards the direction of the voice with an irritated look. He raised his brows at Nina and Agatha who were staring at them in shock. 

"You guys! Get a room!" Agatha exclaimed, shaking her finger at them. Turning towards Elize, she lowered her voice and continued to plead, "Go to ours! I promise I won't come anywhere near that place tonight." 

"And where will you go?" Elize asked, with a smirk. 

"I'll keep her busy." Legolas interrupted quickly. 

"Excuse me?" Agatha asked, turning around to face the elf with an incredulous expression on her face. 

"We can play with the Zouyu in the garden," Legolas said with a shrug.

"Oh.," Agatha said, suddenly embarrassed.

The group laughed, seeing the exchange. The girl's face was as red as an apple as she tried hard to mask her embarrassment with an awkward smile, while the elf looked around cluelessly. It was apparent that Legolas had no idea why they were all laughing.

Elize tugged at his sleeve, drawing back his attention to her. She had a shy smile on her face as she asked, "You wanna get out of here?"

Zack grinned, overjoyed at the suggestion. He couldn't be more pleased with the way that his mate was taking initiatives. And now that she had completed her shift, they could do what they had always held back from doing. He bent down, close to her ears.

"I can't wait to be alone with you." He whispered, blowing air towards the side of her neck.
