139 Chapter 138: Paws off her

Name:Part Wolf Author:obsessedWithWolves
Zack handed the keys to the chauffer and straightened his jacket. Looking around the place, he smiled. Not long ago, he had a fight in the same place with the kelpie. That night had changed a lot of things in their lives. For the first time in his life, he had decided to trust an outsider with something that he treasured more than anything else in the world- his mate. The kelpie had given him his word that he won't force Elize to do anything. Although that was a promise with a lot of loopholes, Zack felt better knowing that his mate would be safe with him. It did nothing to ease his jealousy, but at least it kept her from harm. He took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of the night. There was a slight residue of his mate's fragrance coming from the place's boundary wall. He chuckled, knowing that she must have paused again and again to lean on the walls, leaving her scent on the surface. He made a note mentally to talk to her about such finer things of being a wolf. If someone were out to get her, it would be pretty easy to follow her to where she was tracing her scent. She was still a newborn after all, he thought fondly.

"Hey, you sure you wanna do this?" Lang Jin asked, tapping on his shoulder.

"Why?" Zack asked with a smirk, "Do you doubt my decision.?"

"No," Jin replied with a shrug, "but I'm sure Elize would detect you as soon as you go in there." He said, pointing towards the entrance.

Zack chuckled.

"If my guess is right, she'd be too distracted to notice it." He said, dismissing his cousin, "Besides, we're walking into a supernatural hub. There would be too many scents for her to notice mine that easily."

Lang Jin was still uneasy. His face reflected his concern. "But-"

Zack turned to his cousin and patted his back, "As long as I maintain a distance, it's going to be alright." Raising his brows, he asked, "Now, are you coming in or not?"

Lang Jin sighed, finally giving in. "Fine. Don't tell me later that I didn't warn you." He said, walking towards the entrance.

Zack followed him with a laugh. The guards gave way to the group, not giving a second glance at the little girl following the trio. Zack put his hand around his cousin's shoulder as they talked casually about random things. Jin was one of the most reliable people he could lean on. His cousin worried like a mother hen when it came to things related to him, and that realization warmed Zack's heart. They passed the hall leading to the heavy doors, keeping the blaring sound inside from leaking out. As the guards were about to open the doors, a little hand suddenly grabbed his arm. Zack looked back to

"Why do I feel like there's a surprise waiting for me inside? Don't tell me you brought her here." Heidi said, narrowing her eyes at him suspiciously.

Turning back towards the security, he nodded. The huge men garbed in black attire quickly opened the door for them, bringing out a blast of loud music. Zack could see many bodies writhing together on the dance floor, the smell of their desires hanging heavily in the air. Throb lights flashed towards the area, making the otherwise dark place light up. His gaze landed on the floor above the dance floor. There were many werewolves out to have fun tonight. Women dressed in high heels and skin-tight dresses looked down on the dance floor, sipping their drinks and wiping their blood-red lips with their tongues. Taking a quick look around, he knew that Elize and her friends were nowhere on the dance floor. That could only mean one thing- they were upstairs, from where the predators watched their prey. With a sigh, he turned towards his pack mates. Heidi's mouth hung open as she looked at the scene in front of her with shock.

"Get inside." He said with a nod. As soon as the group got inside, the doormen closed the doors behind them.

Turning towards his subordinate, he said, "Mikhail, keep an eye on Heidi. Make sure that she doesn't get any ideas." Leaning towards Heidi, he warned, "Remember pup, I will not hesitate to call Nina if you make a wrong move."

Heidi rolled her eyes in irritation and walked towards the stairs. Mikhail quickly followed behind her, leaving the two cousins to themselves.

"Do you see what I see?" Zack asked, nodding towards the bar upstairs.

"Yes, I see rogues," Jin said, keeping his eyes on the women leaning against the railing.

"What do you think that they're here for?" Zack whispered, leaning in.

"I don't know," Jin replied with a worried look. Let's stay out of their way and get your mate out as soon as possible."

Zack nodded in agreement and walked towards the bar with his cousin. Heads turned as they walked in. Some quickly bowed, seeing Zack while others fanned themselves, leaning forward in their seats suggestively. He ignored most of them, not stopping till he reached where his pack mates sat. He could smell the lingering scent of his mate from the cabin nearby. Zack looked around the place, taking in every detail. Besides the rogues, he was unable to spot any other problem in the area. Alpha Li was known to have used rogues to do his dirty work when he couldn't step in personally. From the looks of it, besides the two women, there were others also present in various corners of the club. Without knowing their motive, he was unable to relax. He was not blind to the threat of his grandfather eyeing his mate.

"Here you go," Jin said, handing him over a half-filled glass.

Zack leaned back in his seat, taking the glass from his cousin. Taking a sip from his drink, he sharpened his ears, trying to listen in on their conversation.

"Did you see her?!" One of the women said.

"Yes! She looked so tasty!" The other replied excitedly.

"If I could have one bite from her.." The first one trailed off with a dreamy sigh.

Zack's grip tightened on his glass as he listened to their conversation. The girls had their eyes glued to the cabin in which Elize was, as they kept talking. He wanted to get up from his seat and tear their throats out for uttering such things about his mate. But he controlled himself. He couldn't afford to get into a fight with Heidi being there. It was too much of a risk to the little wolf, he thought grudgingly.

"Is this where you all come to have fun?" Heidi's voice cut through his thoughts, bringing his attention back towards his group.

"Yeah, why?" Zack asked, taking another sip from his drink.

"It's too loud." She replied, biting into her shrimp.

"Well, it's not meant for kids." Lang Jin said with a shrug.

Heidi narrowed her eyes at Jin. "You took me here." She said accusingly.

"No," Jin said, with a smirk, "your Alpha did."

Zack shook his head. These two were too loud for him to concentrate on anything else. He almost wished he didn't bring them along with him.

"Stop bickering, you two." He complained, shaking his fingers at them, "Let me-"

Before he could finish the sentence, there was a loud noise from his right. All heads on the floor whipped towards the direction of the cabin.

"What do you think you're doing?!" Elize's voice rose from inside the place.

Zack didn't waste any time as he quickly rushed towards the place. He paused as he looked back towards his cousin and nodded. Jin nodded back in acknowledgment, coming to stand in front of the entrance of the area protectively. Knowing that the place was well-secured, he entered the cabin without making a noise. The first thing that hit him was the force of his mate's scent. He drew in a deep breath, savoring the moment before he looked around the place. Sam- who he recognized from the training-session had his fingers wrapped in a tight grip around his mate's hand.

A girl who was the size of Heidi was looking back and forth Sam and Elize nervously. His mate looked breathtaking, with a furious expression on her face. His gaze swept her body quickly, with a proud smile. The black dress that she was wearing was barely covering her behind, and the heels that she had on accentuated her features. Yet, there was no awkwardness in her posture as she struggled against the boy's grip. He knew that she was holding back on her strength so that it wouldn't hurt the pup in front of her. It seemed like she didn't need any help from him, but he couldn't resist the urge to squash the boy who had his filthy hands on his belonging. Zack stepped forward, snaking his hands through the breadth of her waist, and tugged her back towards him. Elize gasped as her body hit against his.

"Get your paws off of her pup. If you want to keep them." He warned, glaring at Sam, who looked shocked out of his wits.
