Chapter 92: A conversation between father and son

"There is no need to do such things. Stand up", Li Qingzhao helped Li Shu to stand up. 

"You two liittle girls, why are you also kneeling? Stand up quickly", Li Qingzhao threw a glance towards Su'er and Ling'er with fake anger on her face. Su'er and Ling'er hurried to stand up after seeing the expression of Li Qingzhao.

Zhan Chen chuckled from the side after seeing the interaction between his mother and the Ling'er, Su'er pair. The most surprised among his parents was not his mother but his father, Zhan Long.

"Qingzhao, is it really true? Ruyan and this little brat..", Zhan Long looked towards his wife for answer. Shen Ruyan blushed as she could see the disbelief in Zhan Long's eyes.

"Yes, they have informed me about their matter but who would have thought that even these two little girls have fallen for him", Li Qingzhao rolled her eyes towards Zhan Chen. 

Zhan Chen scratched his head as he didn't know what to say to his mother. 

Ling'er and Su'er blushed as Li Qingzhao talked about them with Zhan Long.

"Let's forget about these two girls. Here is another girl who had also fallen for him. From her demeanor, I can tell that she is from a noble family", Li Qingzhao spoke as she observed Li Shu.

"Ruyan, can you introduce her to us?", Li Qingzhao looked towards Shen Ruyan. Zhan Long also turned his gaze towards Li Shu. He was feeling confused about what to do with so many daughter-in-laws.

"Big sis, have you heard of all the powerful families of the provincial capital?", Shen Ruyan looked towards Li Qingzhao.

Li Qingzhao nodded her head as she looked towards Li Shu with more interest. Every mother wanted a good daughter-in-law in their families and Li Qingzhao was no exception. Her interested was piqued up after Shen Ruyan mentioned the powerful families of provincial capital.

"She is from the Li clan which is the clan of grandmaster Li", Shen Ruyan introduced Li Shu to Li Qingzhao and Zhan Chen. 

"Grandmaster Li!", Zhan Long exclaimed after hearing the name of the most prominent weaponsmith of the region. Although their Zhan family was located in a distant corner but Zhan Long had knowledge of the outside region.

Red cloud kingdom belonged to Shredded mountain province. A province was the part of a region and it contained numerous kingdoms and clans in its boundary. Their Shredded mountain province had numerous powerful factions and Li clan was one of the most powerful faction of entire province. No one dared to disrespect Li clan as they had another identity. They were famous for their weaponsmithing abilities. Grandmaster Li was the most talented of the Li clan as he was renowned in all the five provinces of western region.

Zhan Long looked towards Li Shu with surprise. "What is a girl from Li clan doing with our little brat?", Zhan Long looked towards Li Shu with a confused look. It was common sense that descendants of the powerful families disdained to associate themshelves with people from lower families. It was almost impossible for a boy of less powerful family to marry a girl from powerful families or clans.

Their Zhan family could be considered powerful in the Red cloud kingdom but the power of Zhan family could be considered neglible when they left the boundary of the Red cloud kingdom. Even the family of his wife still felt disdain towards him even after so many years had passed since the marriage between him and Li Qingzhao.

A worried look appeared in the eyes of Zhan Long as he threw a look towards Zhan Chen. He didn't want his son to be humiliated like himself.

"Miss, can you tell me why did you choose our son? Can your clan accept your relationship with us?", Zhan Long looked towards Li Shu as a serious look appeared on his face.

Li Qingzhao also looked towards Li Shu as she waited for her answer. She could understand the concern of her husband and she also didn't want any suffering for her son. So, she waited for Li Shu to explain herself.

"Big sis and brother are still being worried about Zhan Chen. But they didn't know what his potential is like. Given time, Zhan Chen can propose a marraige infront of my family. Much less when we think of a mere family of provincial capital", Shen Ruyan thought to herself.

"I, my family....", Li Shu became flusted after being interrogated in this manner.

"No need to panick, just tell them your reason", Zhan Chen encouraged Li Shu. He was not worry of any trouble but it didn't mean that his parents wouldn't be worried about him. So, he encouraged Li Shu to explain herself.

"Big sis, no need to felt concerned. I knew about the matters of Li family as our Shen family has established a business relationship with grandmaster Li", Shen Ruyan explained from the side.

Zhan Long and Li Qingzhao diverted their attention from Li Shu to Shen Ruyan as they looked towards Shen Ruyan with curious looks on their faces.

"She is most talented weaponsmith among the Li family younger generation. Her father had died since her early childhood. So, she has only her mother and grandfather in her family. They have given her freedom to choose her partner according to her will. So, the Li clan is not going to interfere with her personal business", Shen Ruyan spoke.

"What! She is a weaponsmith?", Li Qingzhao exclaimed after a moment. Zhan Long also had a stunned look as both of them looked towards Li Shu with surprise.

Li Shu felt shy after seeing her father-in-law and mother-in-law looking towards her. Li Qingzhao tried to look normal as she noticed the awkward look of Li Shu.

"You two, go out. Let us girls discuss things in private", Li Qingzhao looked towards Zhan Chen and Zhan Long. Both father and son felt helpless as they couldn't defy the supreme existence of their family.

"You girls, follow me inside. No need to think about those two. Let us sit down and discuss things", Li Qingzhao held the hand of Li Shu and led them inside. She threw a look at Shen Ruyan, Su'er and Ling'er as all the girls followed her to the living room.

Zhan Chen helplessly followed after Zhan Long as both father and son went outside. "You brat, are you really cultivating? You didn't seem to be serious?", Zhan Long trew a look at Zhan Chen.

"I am already at peak stage of Meridian opening realm. So, you can tell me whether I am cultivating seriously or not", Zhan Chen retorted the reprimanding tone of his father.

"Don't be complacent. The girls you are picking are all from noble families. Forget about Li family, have you ever considered how you going to approach the Shen family of Ruyan?", Zhan Long looked towards his son.

"Father, you may not believe me but I will take at most one year to reach the peak of Martial ascension realm", Zhan Chen spoke while looking at the distant sky.

Zhan Long wanted to speak something but he bacame silent after seeing the confidence in Zhan Chen's eyes. It was the same confidence when his father went to do war with other kingdoms.

"I believe in you", he spoke after a minute. "Don't forget to take good care of them. Otherwise, I will not forgive you", Zhan Long looked at Zhan Chen.

"I will", Zhan Chen replied.

"Father, have you used the marrow nourishinig liquid?", Zhan Chen looked towards his father.

"Yes, I can feel my body has strengthened a lot after I have used that bottle", Zhan Long replied.

"Congratulation father, you will soon become a Core condensation realm cultivator", Zhan Chen smiled towards his father.

Zhan Long also smiled as he didn't refute the words of Zhan Chen. He threw a look at his son and then looked towards the distant sky where Zhan Chen was looking at. He knew his little son was going to leave their tiny home.

Compared to the interaction between father and son, the room of Li Qingzhao was more lively. Shen Ruyan was leaving the Red cloud kingdom. So, both Li Qingzhao and Shen Ruyan had opened up a bit.

Both of them interrogated Su'er, Ling'er and Li Shu as both of them were curious about how Zhan Chen managed to get them in his grasp. The condition of Li Shu was somehow managable but Ling'er and Su'er were the most flustered one among the three of them. They couldn't describe how Zhan Chen managed to get both of them. Their cheeks reddened when they thought about the indescrnt thing they were doing when Zhan Chen caught them.

"Ok, you two girls. No need to be flustered. We are only teasing both of you", Li Qingzhao spoke as she looked towards the heavily blushing girls.

"Ruyan, do you really have no problem with Chen-er? He is randmly picking girls out there?", Li Qingzhao looked towards Shen Ruyan with a concerned look on her face.
