Chapter 4: Fourth Miss

This single learning session lasted for hours. There were endless information contained in a single page of the ancient book. Zhan Chan again felt amazed by the methods of his teacher. First saving his soul and now this mysterious diagram, he felt amazed by the prowcess of his teacher and the mysterious old man whom his teacher called second brother.

When Zhan Chen opened his eyes, it was already late night. In the world of mysterious diagram, there was no sense of time. He didn't know how much time he had spent learning untill his soul sense came out from the mysterious diagram. Zhan Chen looked around and saw little Tao dozing off in a distanced. "This little girl", a smile appeared on his face.

He chose not to disturb her. His soul sense covered his entire body as he started to check on his own injuries. " It looks like Gu family wanted to cripple me thoroughly. Fortunately, uncle Shen was there", Zhan Chen muttered to himself. His eyes became cold when he thought about the Gu family.

"Ah! young master, When did you wake up?"

Zhan Chen turned his head after listening to the shout of Little Tao. "I have just woke up. What is it? Why are you shouting?", Zhan Chen looked at the little girl.

A thought suddenly appeared in the mind of Zhan Chen after he saw Little Tao. "Little Tao, Don't you remember the punishment for shouting loudly? Do you want to be punished?", he smirked with a evil look on his face.

"No, young master. Please don't do this. I will not disturb you again I promise", a frightened look appeared on the face of Little Tao. It was obvious from her reaction that the punishment was not normal.

"Excuse me, young master. I will go fetch your food", little Tao excused herself hurriedly. Zhan Chen had an amused look on his face as he saw her fleeing his room.

"I am wondering how should I step on my path of dual cultivation as it didn't fit to my personality but now I understand. The life I have lived in the past fourteen years was the true unrestrained path for dual cultivation. I am no longer the past Zhan Chen. I must live the unfettered life that my current body is living. The current me is shameless and bold but at least I have been living the life that my heart desires", Zhan Chen thought to himself.

A wide smile appeared on his face as he fully embraced his current identity and personality. After finishing his dinner, he didn't go to sleep again. He started to rearrange his body by himself.

In his past life, he had been known as an incomprehensible genius. His reputation was not only because of his sword but also his mastery in other types of arts. His major acheivement was in sword but he was also proficient in alchemy and formation.

Zhan Chen had studied under the alchemy emperor for two years but the alchemy emperor always lamented how his obsession of sword resulted in losing a genius in the alchemy path. As for the path of formation, he was self taught in this matter. He could comprehend all the complex formations that was hidden in their ancestral land.

Zhan Chen started to rearrange his body despite the bonebiting pain he was feeling. He first organized the dislocated joints in his hand.

"Shhh..", he inhaled the cold air as he resisted his urge to shout loudly. Rearranging the dislocated joints was one of the most painful experiences for a ordinary human.

He greeted his teeth and organized the dislocated parts of his body. Cold sweat drops had already started to appear on his head when he finished with his bones.

He took rest for some time. After a period of rest, he felt more relaxed. He held the corner of his bed and sat up with the help of it. His gaze fell upon the distant sky. "Who would have thought that I will be reduced to such a state. It looks like I have to prepare the medicine myself", Zhan Chen thought to himself.

"Young master, Are you okay?

How did you manage to sit up?", Little Tao shouted after seeing him in the early morning.

Zhan Chen felt amused after seeing her reaction. He had not slept in the previous night. After rearranging his joints, he had gone to the soul diagram world to study again.

He ordered little Tao to not tell about his recovery to anyone. He knew this news would startle many if anyone found out about his recovery because it was an abnormal thing to others.

Everyone was aware that Zhan estate had already approached many alchemists. But no one had managed to heal him in a short period. Now that he could treat himself, he didn't want to raise a commotion. He wanted to silently raise his strength before doing anything outside.

Zhan Chen went to sleep when he saw his eldest aunt was coming with his mother. He didn't want to be found out. So, he chose this time to take rest.

He woke up when it was afternoon. His spiritual energy had recovered after taking a good rest. "Little Tao, Have you managed to see that fatty?"

Little Tao nodded. She brought out a small book and handed it over to Zhan Chen. "Young master Xu has sent it for you", Little Tao spoke with a smile. Zhan Chen nodded his head.

He had asked for the help of his friend to fetch this book in the morning. "Fatty is surely doing his task seriously", Zhan Chen felt impressed by the proficiency of his friend.

Zhan Chen quickly scanned through the small book. It was a list from the Firecloud treasure pavilion. His eyes lit up after discovering the medicines required for his treatment.

He was just going to call for a maid when Little Tao rushed over. "Young master, fourth miss is back to the city".

Zhan Chen became dazed for bit. He could feel a undescribable emotion after listening the news of her return. A young girl with pretty eyes and exquisite face came to his mind.

"Where is she?", Zhan Chen asked absentmindedly. "She has directed rushed to the royal academy after coming back. She is currently fighting with the Gu family members", little Tao said with excitement.

Zhan Chen felt an indescribable emotion after listening this news. In his memory, she was always like this. She always defended him no matter whose fault it was.

To the past Zhan Chen, she was the best person after his mother. The previous Zhan Chen both respected her and loved her. She had occupied an important place in his fourteen years memory. She was always with him untill she had to go to the distant academy for study.

When everyone was ridiculing him as the trash, she had always tried to protect him. Her love and affection was deeply imprinted in the mind of Zhan Chen. For the outside world, they were brother and sister. But when it came to feelings between them, they had a tender emotion for each other. Zhan Chen didn't know how to face her after listening to the news of her return.
