Chapter 68: Zhan Lin, the Zhan family ancestor

Zhan Chen spread his soul consciousness to the surrounding and the entire Zhan family estate appeared inside his mind. His spiritual energy fluctuated as he tried to make a mental connection with the ethereal laws of heaven.

What he was trying to do was beyond the comprehension of a formation grandmaster. His spiritual energy yet to reach the level of a formation grandmaster but he was using his previous life understanding to make a connection with the unpredictable laws of heaven.

He sat there motionlessly for some time. His heart was very calm and his mind was in a blank state. Gradually he cleared his mind from everything as he tried to forge a connection with the heaven.

"Big sis, what is he doing? If he is cultivating, then why there is not any essence energy fluctuation around him?", the third aunt of Zhan Chen looked at the eldest madam of Zhan family.

"Third sis, he is cultivating but he is not cultivating essence energy, as you think. Every formation masters focuses on increasing their spiritual energy. He is also doing the same, I think", Zhan Chen's second aunt spoke before Zhan Chen's eldest aunt could say anything.

"My Chen-er has finally shown his talent. No one can tell him useless anymore", Li Qingzhao thought as her eyes teared up slightly. Her lips curled up as she felt a burst of happiness washing over her. 

Which mother does not feel happiness over hear child's success? Li Qingzhao was no exception to such a thing. She kept looking at Zhan Chen who was still sitting there without knowing what was happening in his surrounding.

"How rare! Fourth sis, are you smiling?", the eldest aunt of Zhan Chen teased Li Qingzhao. Li Qingzhao blushed slightly bu she didn't say anything in reply. Her gaze was still focused on the location where Zhan Chen was sitting crosslegged.

Little Tao was also there. She was talking with the two guards to relieve her boredom. Time started to gradually pass as Zhan Chen sat at that place motionlessly.

Suddenly, a sensation came to Zhan Chen's mind as his body shook slightly. He adjusted his state instantly and poured all of his focus on feeling that wonderful sensation.

It was a strange yet familiar sensation. Multicolored waves filled up his entire surrounding.

Zhan Chen spread his spiritual energy slowly and the multicolour waves gathered together. Some of them merged into one and some of them remained as one. When his spiritual energy passed through them, there apperance changed as they turned into different kinds objects around his surrounding.

Every object was made of heaven and earth. One could easily understand this statement with his spiritual strength. The multicoloured waves represented different kinds of elemental laws as together they formed the different kinds of objects of heaven and earth.

Grass was made up of wood energy,.gravels had the yellow coloured eath energy around them. Sky has different kinds of energy altogether but the most noticeable one among them was the blue coloured water element and the green coloured wind element.

The world around Zhan Chen reverted back to its own self after Zhan Chen's spiritual energy passed through them but something was different in Zhan Chen's perception. World felt more colourful to him as everything felt more colourful than earlier.

It was not that there was any change in heaven and earth, it was the change in his perception. It was his own perception what was changed after he managed to see the mental picture of heaven and earth energy. He had developed spiritual perception which was necessary to become a formation grandmaster. 

With a thought of his mind, a vast amount of spiritual energy poured into his mind. His previous minisque quantity of spiritual energy increased as he greedily absorbed the spiritual energy of heaven and earth.

The energy of heaven and earth started to retreat after Zhan Chen absorbed spiritual energy for some minutes. Zhan Chen also didn't stop it as he was quite satisfied with the amount of energy he had already absorbed. But suddenly a violent pull came out from the inside of his body. To be precise, it was the mysterious diagram in his soul which had exerted the pulling force.

The heaven and earth trembled as the retreating spiritual energy gathered again. It poured into Zhan Chen's mind in a steady pace.

Spiritual energy was generally traceless but the heaven and earth was not. The spiritual energy was an unique kind of energy which was gathered from all kinds of heaven and earth elements. Thunder rumbled as the pulling force grew violent.

"What is going on?",.Zhan Chen felt surprised by the sudden change inside his body. But before he could feel more worried, the violent pulling force stopped.

The rumbling heaven and earth also came to a stop. The gathered spiritual energy scattered as they went back to their source. The heaven and earth became normal within few seconds.

"What was that?", the eldest aunt of Zhan Chen murmured in surprise. The earlier change caught all of them offguard. But before she could look at her other sisters, a terrifyingly powerful soul sense came towards them. 

Everyone shuddered when that terrifyingly powerful sense passed through them. The powerful soul sense scanned through everyone present and finally stopped on the body of Zhan Chen.

"How strange! The earlier turmoil of heaven and earth seems to be done by this kid but how is it possible?" a murmuring sound came from the sky. 

An instant later, a figure appeared in the sight of everyone. His figure was floating in the sky as he was curiousity looking at Zhan Chen.

He had a messy looking appearance but he had a pair of sharp looking eyes.

An ancient looking robe was covering his body. Zhan Chen also felt his presence but his current state didn't allow him to divert his attention. Moreover, he knew the person in the sky had no malicious intention towards him. From his earlier words, he seemed to be related to his Zhan family.

"Little kid, no need to feel worry. This is a good opportunity for you. Try to condense your spiritual energy using this opportunity", the figure in the sky spoke.

His gaze then turned towards the people present in the surrounding. "Little girls, no need to look at me with that gaze. I will never harm anyone of my Zhan family", the figure in the sky spoke.

"Greetings senior. Thank you for your assistance that day", the eldest aunt of Zhan Chen was the first to find her bearing.

"Little girl, why are you thanking me? I have never done anything for which my Zhan clan can thank me", the figure in the sky replied. His gaze softened a bit when he saw a hesitant look on the face of Zhan Chen's eldest aunt.

"Little girl, you want to say anything?", the figure in the sky asked. Zhan Chen's eldest aunt nodded her head.

"Ask then. What do you want to know?", the figure in the sky said in an amiable voice.

"Senior, are you someone from my Zhan family?", the eldest aunt of Zhan Chen asked. The ears of everyone perked up as they waited for the answer.

"I am initially planning to hide my existence but it is already impossible. Since, this is the case, then there is no point in hiding my existence anymore", the figure in the sky muttered.

"I am Zhan Lin, a nobody of Zhan clan. As for the current Zhan family, they are descendants of my Zhan clan", the figure in the sky spoke.

"Then, ancestor. Please forgive us for our disrespect. Please accept this kowtow from your juniors", Zhan Chen's eldest aunt spoke and knelt down. Zhan Chen's other aunts and his mother also knelt down and kowtow to the ancestor who was floating in the sky.

"There is no need to kneel for someone like me. You are still kneeling before the ancestoral hall, that is enough for me", Zhan Lin spoke as his stoic face became emotional for a minute.

He waved his hand slightly and Zhan Chen's aunts and mother's came out of their kneeling posture again. There was surprise and respect in their eyes as they looked towards the expert infront of them.

"Zhan family guards, no need to stay here anymore. Remember to maintain secrecy about today's matter. I am not talking about myself. You just need to forget about the deeds of this little kid. Later, I will help all of you to raise your strengths", Zhan Lin spoke.

"Yes, ancestor", the guards present knelt down and spoke. Their eyes were full of respect when they were looking at Zhan Lin.

"Little girl, why are you trembling? I am not some wild animal", Zhan Lin looked at little Tao and shook his head.

"Little girls, introduce yourshelves. I need to know about the current circumstances of my Zhan clan", Zhan Lin spoke and looked towards Zhan Chen's aunts and mother.
