Chapter 99: The Dangerous Scavenge.

"Almost full…" Violet muttered as she glanced at the large hiking bag on her back.

She had gotten almost everything she needed.

She filled out what was on the list, and other things which weren't on it which she thought would be useful.

Currently, she was inside of the medical centre of the store she was at. It was quite a large store, so naturally it would have one.

She was looking around for what she thought could be helpful for Gray but just as Aurora had expected, she didn't recognise any of them.

The pain killers and stomach medicine were the only ones which she did.

Fortunately, Lara had written down on the list what medicine she thought would be helpful for Gray.

After a few minutes of searching, she was able to find it.

"Good… Now I can leave-"

Violet's eyes suddenly landed on the adult section of the store where a box of condoms caught her eyes.

She was never the type to pay attention to these sort of things before, but now…

"W-Well… J-Just to be safe…" She muttered as she grabbed the packet.

Her cheeks were flushed red after throwing the packet into the bag.

'W-Well I should get going now…' Violet thought to herself before rushing out.

As she reached the entrance to the room. She felt a chill go down her spine.

In an instant, she grabbed herself with telekinesis and leapt up to the ceiling. Levitating as she watched the door.

A few seconds after, a figure emerged inside.

Horns could be seen on the top of it's hairless head. It's skin was rotten, peeling like a zombie and it groaned out with every step.

It's entire body was disfigured in a way which was inhuman. It's limbs were slightly bent causing it to stagger as it walked.

Violet instantly recognised what it was.

A mutated zombie. One mutated n a way which she had never seen before.

It looked weak, but absolutely terrifying.

'I don't know if this one is a screamer… While it's not looking I'll finish it off…' She thought to herself.

A knife which was lying around the floor, behind it slowly rose up.

[Telekenesis]

Violet's eyes glowed a bright purple as the knife was propelled at it's nape.

At that instant, it's head turned around.

A grin could be seen on it's face as it's eyes landed upon her.

She felt the hairs on her neck rise. Making her even more desperate to finish it off.

*Clang!*

Violet's brows raised up. The knife wasn't able to penetrate through it's rock-hard skin.

It opened it's mouth and it's tongue burst out towards Violet at unforeseeable speeds.

*Pierce*

It's tongue had pierced into the ceiling right beside Violet's face.

If not for the fact that she had tilted her head in the last second… That hole would have been in her head and not the wall.

Realising this, she instantly propelled herself away from the wall, to the other side of the room.

The tongue extended from the wall towards her.

[Telekenesis: Flight]

Using her telekinesis, she propelled her body away from it, but it ricocheted off the wall towards her.

A vein bulged out of her forehead, as the monster's tongue came to a halt ahead of her.

She stretched her arm out towards it, before slowly clenching it.

The mutated zombie's mouth closed on it's tongue, cutting it off in the process.

It's tongue squirmed around on the floor as it opened it's mouth to groan out in pain.

The moment it had done so, it's eyes widened as the very same knife which it had previously failed to stab it, was suddenly propelling into it's mouth, stabbing it through it's rotted brain.

The monster dropped to the floor and Violet slowly descended back onto the floor.

'That's it…? With how it looked, and that dangerous vibe I got, I expected it to be stronger…'

It didn't seem that much stronger than a regular zombie. Well the tongue would make it quite troublesome for those who may not have an ability like her own.

[Telekenesis]

Violet, flew straight out of the room with the bag on her back.

She didn't want to spend any time longer in this store. Even though she had killed the monster, the bad feeling didn't faded.

Suddenly, right after coming out. Cold sweat could be seen pouring down her face as she stopped in her tracks.

Her danger senses were acting up again.

As ahead of her, a figure could be seen walking towards her.

*Step* *Step* *Step*

It was unusually silent, their footsteps were the only sounds she could hear as they drew closer.

Horns could be seen sticking out the top of their head. The top half of which was red.

Gloves could be seen on their hands. Strings were attached to said gloves, but they were too thin for Violet to notice.

"Hm? What happened to the pet I was chasing?" The horned one asked with a puzzled look.

Short dark yellow hair and dark red eyes. His figure didn't seem like much, nor did he seem powerful based on solely appearance.

And yet Violet couldn't help but feel nervous.

'W-What's with this guy?' She wondered.

All she could feel was a sense of danger being emitted from him.

Whether it was due to her ability or just her own innate talent. She was incredibly sensitive to danger.

Violet knew that she needed to do whatever she could to get away.

And so she tried.

The man's attention wasn't on her, so she quickly propelled herself towards the ceiling. Aiming to fly out the way she had come in.

However.

As she was just ahead of the glass panels, she halted.

She didn't move a muscle after noticing the thin string ahead of her.

"Hm~ Looks a fly managed to avoid my trap." He muttered.

His finger twitched.

And almost instantaneously after, strings wrapped themselves around Violet's entire body, trapping her like a spider caught in a web.

"Ah.. Much better..." He added a smile grew on his face.
