Chapter 124 - 124: The Other World [Part 2].

'I can't breath!!!'

Gray's eyes grew redder, he placed his hands on his throat trying to get air in.

His heart's pounding grew faster whilst his eyes bulged out. Instead of properly breathing, he could only gasp for air, his body was functioning differently from normal.

Was it because of the teleportation? Or was the air in this world simply unbreathable? Gray wasn't sure.

'System...! What's happening!?'

[The body has not yet adjusted to the dimensional loop. Although the air is breathable, the body is simply reacting negatively to the sudden change.]

[You are simply not breathing. You must force yourself to breathe.]

Before his consciousness could drift, he began slamming his closed hand at his chest as he realised all he was doing was exhaling.

He needed to inhale.

'Breath damn it!!!' He shouted inwardly.

*WHAM!*

Gray gasped once more, but this time he managed to do it.

Before his consciousness could give out, he was able to inhale in a substantial amount of air.

*Cough* *Cough*

[Breathing successful.]

Gray coughed out, the little air he had in him before inhaling a large portion again.

Relief rushed through his body as he barely avoided death.

"That was way too clos-"

The silver-haired girl in front of Gray was also gasping for air as she suddenly got up, giving Gray a shaken look.

As she placed her hands over her neck, her golden irises gazed left and right in surprise.

When her eyes landed on Gray, she tried to call him extended her arm out towards him as if pleading for help.

"Breathe! Do whatever you can to inhale!" Said Gray.

Visibly confused, her eyes began to roll back as her consciousness began to fade.

Her arm suddenly dropped, and so was she - But at that moment.

Gray suddenly grabbed her arm, and pulled her in closer.

Before she could react their lips intertwined.

Gray wrapped his arm around her back, preventing her from moving away and falling.

While she was in this position, he began to blow air into her mouth.

Her expression softened for a moment. However, that was only for a split second before she pulled away and began coughing.

*Cough* *Cough* *Cough*

"Thank... Thanks..." She muttered before taking in a deep breath.

"No prob-"

Gray's eyes widened, he felt a chill go down his spine as through the corner of his eyes, he saw it.

A giant fanged mouth, lunging towards them.

[Pause Step]

Their figures vanished, the tree which they had been standing on was torn away by a large monster in the very same instant.

In the air just above said tree, Gray got a clear look at what it was.

A giant, long scaly white cobra slithering through the trees. It's length seemed to be over 10 meters long, as it kept itself hidden beneath the trees.

Before it could notice, and he could drop back down, Gray paused the air beneath his feet, creating a platform for him and the girl to stand on.

They had barely gotten away.

But that fact didn't so much as pass Gray's mind. His pupils were dilated as he was invested in the surroundings.

It was dark, there were two moons out. Beneath him was a large jungle which stretched as far as the eye could see behind him.

Ahead of him however, the jungle was cut off by a vast wide ocean in the far distance.

To the far left, Gray could see large walls which separated the jungle from whatever was on the other side. It was too far for Gray to tell what exactly was inside, but he could see lights.

It seemed to be a port of sorts as there were countless fleets just ahead of it.

The fleets were levitating countless meters above the water.

Even more fleets could be seen levitating in the air above the city.

"We made it..." He said.

The girl's eyes had also widened as she inspected the surroundings.

"...But where... Exactly are we...?" She asked.

Gray looked around once more.

"Not just us... Where is everyone... Wait- Before that... Who are you?" Gray asked as he turned to her.

Smooth pale skin, long silver hair, golden irises with a slender jawline.

She wore the black uniform which belonged to the fallen angel opposition corps and carried two katanas on her waist along with an extra one on her back.

Gray could feel it, she was strong.

"I'm-"

Without bothering to finish her sentence, she glanced down with an annoyed look before instantly drawing her katanas.

Beneath them, once again they could see the wide-opened fang-filled mouth of the giant Cobra as it had lunged at them.

The snake was insanely fast. Even though she believed in her reaction speed, she still wasn't sure whether or not she would make it.

To her surprise however, the snake suddenly froze in place as it came into contact with a spherical field which had been deployed around them out of nowhere.

As if it was her one and only chance, she was about to swing her flaming swords at it.

Contrary to her expectations, before she could complete the swing, her sword froze in the spot.

"Careful, you could start a forest fire." Said Gray as he pulled out the katana from her back.

'When did he!?'

"How did you-"

Before she could ask, Gray leapt off the platform straight at the giant cobra.

*Slash*

Passing by it's eyes, he swung the katana, slicing right across it.

He paused another platform ahead of himself before landing directly onto it.

The muscles on Gray's legs and arms bulged out as he tried thrusting the sword into it's scaley neck. However, it just wouldn't penetrate.

Seeing this, he leapt across the top of it's head over to the other side.

As he was just ahead of it's other eyes, he thrust the Katana into the middle of its slit pupiled eyes and caught himself with another platform which he created ahead of himself.

*Stab*

The girl watched as Gray made his way over to the front, attacking the defenceless snake inside of it's mouth as he thrust and slashed the sword all around.

[Timer on pause ending in 3]

Gray leapt out of it's mouth before heading back onto the platform where she had been standing.

[Unpause.]
