80 Chapter 80: fan-fan 5

Ivy burst out crying while tightly holding TP's hand. TP suppressed her emotions and waited for her mom to continue.

"I'm sorry, Fan-Fan, I'm a failure as a mother. I got scared so I started to run away.

I'm selfish for not telling you all about the truth cause Im afraid that you will hate me for what I did. I'm sorry. I hope you can forgive me."

TP looked at her mother,she doesn't know what to say to her. So she just pointed out at the door.

Her mom stood up and quietly left her room. As soon as her mother closed the door, tears started to stream down her face.

All her life she hated and cursed her father for abandoning them but all of it were just a lie.

She lay down and stared at the ceiling for whole day. Thinking about what her mom had told her.

She had lost her appetite and didn't even had dinner.

Grandpa Chang assumed that she was just sleeping so he didn't disturb her.

It was past midnight when she finally had some shut eyes. When she woke up, it was already lunch time.

She notice that there was a small gray bowl with golden streak and a paper inside it placed on top of her side table.

She picked up and read the letter and saw a familiar beautiful handwriting.

"Fan-Fan,

This bowl was given to me by your father when he found and met me a few years back after we runaway.

He said it was a kintsugi (¹) he said that the bowl represents our relationship, the bowl, although it was broken, can still be repaired.

the golden streaks means that change is inevitable but can be still accepted.

You see, even damages and breakages can be beautiful.

Just like how he wanted for us to fix our relationship. He wanted to start over by mending and accepting our flaws and difference.

He had searched for us before and he said he always carried the bowl just in case he got lucky.

After we met, I decided to move out to a different city the next day cause I got scared that he will exhaust himself again if we move back to him.

I don't know why I had commitment issues with your dad, all I know is that I don't want to see him live miserably just because he love a failure like me.

Fan-Fan, I told you about my past cause I hope that I can help you find some answers to what's bothering you.

I also wanted to let you know that people have different fates. Just because it happens to me, doesn't mean that it will happen to you too.
