Inside Grandpa Chang's study room, the tension grew even more that Charlie feel like he was being suffocated by the old general's intimidating aura.

Grandpa Chang looked at him from head to toe as if gauging his whole person.

Then the old man heaved a sigh and he slowly shook his head.

Last night he saw his daughter talking all casual and friendly towards Wesley Kang.

He doesn't know the details but he could tell that they both had shared some kind of bond together.

Then earlier, the necklace around TP's slender neck had caught his eye.

He might be old, but his eye sight were still sharp and clear. He immediately notice the Kang family insignia in the pendant.

Seeing the intimate relationship between his grand daughter and the young master of the Kang household, he knows that their relationship is something serious.

Grandpa Chang handed his phone to Charlie. Charlie cluelessly looked at the phone and the headlines of general Li's suicide caught his eye.

"Don't think I don't know what you're family was capable of."

Grandpa Chang sternly said. All the time that he had spend as a mighty general, he have heard stories about how both Wesley Kang and Ethan Lee had earned the title Notorious kings of the underworld.

Ever since Ian's abduction, both the Lee's and the Kang's had been thorough with annihilating their enemies.

They dont leave out any branch of the clan's that they crossed untouched.

He was oblivious how his old friend had manage to offend the Kang's, and he doesn't really care.

All he's thinking about was the danger that will fall upon his family if they got involved with the Kang household.

Charlie on the other hand wasn't aware of what happened. He was so preoccupied with looking after TP that he doesn't know what's going on around him.

Seeing the apparent suicide of general Li though, he knows it was his father who's the one behind it.

"I'm already old...."

Grandpa Chang suddenly said pulling Charlie out of his deep thought.

"My daughter and my granddaughter are my priceless treasure.

I could only ask both you and your father to look out for them in my stead once I'm gone....

I want you to promise me, that you will not make my granddaughter sad, or make her cry. If you do, I will haunt you down! Are we clear?!!!! "

Grandpa Chang exclaimed. Charlie could only nod so fast that he felt dizzy from bobbing his head.

" I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!"

The old man roared. Charlie regained his composure and sturdily stood up. His posture was like of a soldier heeding to his general's commands.

"YES SIR!"

He replied. The old man looked solemnly at the photo in his desk.

It was a picture of his Ivy and little fan-fan back when they were exiled from the mansion.

He had regretted the time that he didn't let his daughter do as she wished making him missed out lots of moments while TP was growing up.

He doesn't want to repeat the same mistake that he did before, although he was still reluctant, he had no choice but to support his granddaughter's relationship with Charlie.

After all, Charlie seemed like a capable man despite his young age and with his social status he can really protect the Chang's if ever he was no longer with them.
