Like Mei Chen, he started to change his behavior, he figured that a new place is a a good start for a new beginning.

Tony tried his best, he begin to wear contact lenses and have his braces removed.

He even enrolled himself into a speech school to fix his stutter.

Soon enough after all the hardwork he had turned into a handsome confident man.

He had always thought that he owed little Mei a favor for accompanying him during his unhappy pre adolescent life.

That's why when he sense that Mei Chen was in trouble, he felt like it was the right thing for him to come to her rescue.

"No way, I didn't know you mind me "hanging out" with you!!!"

Mei Chen exclaimed. She always thought that the timid Tony Shin was not interested in the people around him.

"Same to you, I didn't know you took notice of me. All the people that I've coincidentally met didn't recognize me. But you instantly know who I am."

Tony and Mei Chen both laughed, their past was just like a bleak in their history and they both didn't think that there will come a time were they would laugh about it.

Tony kept on driving while Mei Chen ate the delicious pudding. Like before, every bite she takes, she will smile as if savoring the yummiest dessert ever.

"Little Mei, I know I'm basically a stranger to you. But whateverit is that happened between you and your boyfriend, I hope you two could fix it soon."

Tony suddenly said which startled Little Mei. She bowed her head and tried her best to suppressed her tears.

"Hey, don't cry. I'm just saying.... I know things will work out so cheer up. Everything will be fine."

Tony reassuringly told her. She wiped her tears and look at the window.

She saw the dancing trees and the falling leaves as they passed by.

She reckoned what happened was just a phase, and that Tony was right.

Things will be fine. They just need to talk it out.

After their 2 hour drive they finally arrived at S City. Upon entering the highway, Mei Chen could finally let out a sigh of relief.

Atleast now, she's in a familiar territory.

"Where do you live? I'll drop you off..."

"Oh. The bus station is fine I can manage from there."

Mei Chen vehemently tried to refuse.

"You sure? Do you have any change?"

Then little Mei remembered her predicament. She instantly shut her mouth and pouted.

She couldn't argue anymore. She could only blame herself for running away without anything on hand.
