Chapter 290 - I Know

The Transformation of Bones was probably a technique from another world that cultivated martial arts too. It was simple and fast, just absorbing poison and changing it to something useful. It was even a bit evil.

But if something came from the Heavenly Wheel, the quality would be there. It might be a level one, grade B technique, but it was more powerful than other techniques in the same grade; if one could learn it well, then the power would depend on the poison absorbed. If one absorbed some rare poison, the power would be immense.

However, the drawback was that the process was extremely painful since one's body would be taking in poison.

Since nobody bothered her, she started cultivating after exiting the Heavenly Wheel.

Within a short two or three days, she mastered the basics of Transformation of Bones. If poison entered her body, she could start the technique immediately.

During lunch, the guys delivered the food just like they did yesterday. "Eat!"

Hearing this, Lu Mingshu stopped practicing and took the basket.

She intentionally didn't eat the first time to test the opponent's reaction. Seeing that they didn’t even care, she let down her guard and started eating well.

She never had such good ingredients back at Nine Jade Palace. Now that she was a drug man, of course she would seize the chance to eat fully.

When the guards reached the next cell, they didn't give him food. "Number Six, come out!"

"Where's my food?" the uncle asked.

"You do not get food today. We are going to the Drug Lord today," the guard answered coldly.

"I just went ten days ago. Shouldn’t it be someone else’s turn?" the uncle argued. "That greenhorn next door hasn’t gone once yet!"

"Tell that to the Drug Lord yourself," the guard answered coldly.

Soon, the uncle was dragged away.

Lu Mingshu felt chills run down her spine. The guards were at the Harmonization Realm if she wasn’t mistaken, so why couldn’t the uncle resist them at all? Did I miss something?

She sat there for a while and decided to stretch. She then banged on the wall on the other side. "Is there anyone there?"

No response.

They sent food over every day, so there should’ve been someone there.

Did they learn after seeing me harass the uncle?

Lu Mingshu took a deep breath and got back to cultivating.

Soon, it was midnight.

She opened her eyes immediately upon hearing footsteps.

She stood in front of the iron bars and saw the guards towing a guy out before slamming the iron door shut.

The guards left immediately.

Lu Mingshu banged on the stone wall "Uncle?"

There wasn't any response.

When he was dragged away, he was unconscious. Now, he smelled like weird herbal medicine, and he was probably still unconscious.

Soon, dawn arrived. Lu Mingshu could hear a groan coming from the cell next to her.

Lu Mingshu went over to knock on the wall immediately. "Uncle, are you awake?"

After a while, he responded; "Idiotic girl, you're still so noisy!" He sounded weak.

"Are you okay?" Lu Mingshu asked.

"What if I wasn’t? Would you be able to help me?" The person on the other side of the wall sneered. "Stop spouting rubbish and let me have some peace."

After a short while, the voice was heard again; "Hey, talk to me! That hurts!"

This made Lu Mingshu burst into laughter. "Well, you should be fine since you can still talk."

"Hmph! Such a petty person," the other party mumbled to himself.

She then said, "Petty? You tried to get me into trouble earlier and I haven’t even taken revenge yet."

The other party said lazily, "Get you into trouble? You have to go over sooner or later anyway!"

In actuality, Lu Mingshu would rather go over earlier than be stuck here since there was nothing she could do in a cell.

She peeked outside, then whispered, "Uncle, I want to find out about a person."

"Find out about someone? You must be dreaming." The uncle sighed. "I have been here for ten years, how would I know anybody?"

"Ten years? So long?"

"That’s not long at all. Someone has been here for more than thirty years. It’s been a long time since I heard from him, he is probably going to die soon."

Lu Mingshu thought for a while; "Those who come here have never left before?"

"Mhmm," the uncle mumbled to himself, so soft that Lu Mingshu could barely hear him.

"Not too long ago, was there anyone new?"

"Hmm?" The over party became vigilant. "What do you mean?"

"He is about twenty years old, at the peak of the Harmonization Realm, and rather handsome…."

The other party laughed out loud upon hearing her. "Hey little girl, what does this look like to you? A pub to find your lover boy?"

Lu Mingshu didn't respond.

After a while, the other party sounded amazed. "Are you for real?"

"Yes."

"You… came here to look for him?" The other party sounded shocked. "How can that be? The Drug Lord's methods are impossible to deal with!"

"Are you sure?" she responded. "No matter what, some traces will be left after someone does something."

The other party was silent for a while. "Little girl, you're really something, huh? But it's impulsive to come here just like that. Your lover is already bound to be stuck here, and yet you walked right into the trap as well." He sighed.

Lu Mingshu opened her mouth to reply, but a voice stopped her; "I know where that youngster is."

It was a hoarse voice belonging to a woman.

Before she could respond, the uncle next to her gasped. "Old woman, you still remember how to speak after pretending to be mute for such a long time?"

"Hmph!" She responded coldly, "Save some energy for your last few days, old man. Your life is going to end soon."

"Heh!" The uncle laughed, accidentally choking himself and coughing. "Old woman, you have not talked for a long time. I thought you were going to die, but you sound incredibly fine now!"

"I have lived for a long time, seeing deaths one after another. You are just adding on to the numbers, that's all," she huffed.

"Haha, so what if you have lived for a long time? Escape this place if you can!"

There was an awkward silence.

As if he won, the uncle chuckled happily.

Hearing their conservation, Lu Mingshu guessed that this old woman was the one that the uncle mentioned – the one that lived here for more than thirty years.

"Grandma, you said you know where he is?"

After a while, a voice was heard, "The youngster you were talking about has been here for about a month. He lives over there. I heard an old man talking to him."

The uncle interrupted, "Old woman, you said you heard an old man talking to him, but how can you know how old he is, where he lives, and if he is good looking or not?"

The old woman said in a faint voice, "After listening for a long time, how would I not know? For example, once I hear your voice, I know you’re ugly!"

"Pah!" the uncle angrily responded. "How am I ugly?"

"Ah." The old woman only used one word, leaving the uncle speechless. She took no notice of him and diverted her attention to Lu Mingshu. "Young lady, tell me, how did you get here?"
