As soon as Yu Kuang leapt up on stage, he pulled out his sword immediately. With lighting-speed, the sword-light turned into a dragon and a snake and dashed toward the harpy barbarian.
Physical Manifestation of Sword Intent!
The battle only just started and yet he was already taking out his unique skills, causing those watching to gasp in awe.
“Who’s that? He’s powerful!”
“What? He’s in the Harmonization Realm yet he’s already mastered Physical Manifestation of Sword Intent? No wonder he’s the successor of the Seventh Truth Platform.”
“Yu Kuang! It’s Yu Kuang!”
He actually has so many fans? Lu Mingshu realized. As soon as Yu Kuang went up, the disciples from the Seventh Truth Platform started to cheer loudly for him.
The barbarian did not immediately attack back; he suddenly roared loudly, and a fist appeared out of nowhere, creating a surging gale.
Yu Kuang stood in place, not moving back. He shook his wrist lightly, and the sword-light turned into ten dragons that struck toward the harpy.
Boom!
There was a loud sound as the fist and the sword-energy clashed, and both exploded into smoke and dissolved into the air.
When the smoke was gone, both of them could be seen. The barbarian was no longer standing on the Hero Ranking – Yu Kuang was so fierce that the barbarian couldn’t take it and had to jump down.
“Bravo!”
“Powerful!”
“Good job, Senior Brother Yu!”
“Let’s go, Senior Brother Yu!”
The area was filled with cheering.
The barbarian had stood on the Hero Ranking as soon as he made his appearance, obviously mocking mankind and angering the disciples present. As soon as Yu Kuang made his appearance, the barbarian had no choice but to come down from the Hero Ranking, symbolizing that Yu Kuang was powerful enough to make the barbarian pay for his words.
Yu Kuang’s skills sent a shiver down Lu Mingshu’s spine. He’s able to change his sword-light into ten dragons at a time! This showed that, when Yu Kuang fought her, he wasn’t fighting seriously and let her win on purpose. With his skills, if she wanted to defeat him at his full strength, it would be absolutely tough. There wouldn’t be much of a chance of victory, and he wouldn’t fall into any of her traps very easily.
If she wanted to get a good ranking in the Qilin Festival, it wasn’t going to be easy. Yu Kuang was already so hard to deal with, and there were still participants like Kou Wei and Wei Chunqiu – the best of the best.
Anyway, she had only entered the Harmonization Realm for a short time. Her basics were no match for those who had trained for years. If it was that easy to get a good ranking, why would Yue Lingyin be so famous?
The competition on the roof was intense.
The barbarian had been driven down from the Hero Ranking, but his fierce nature was unleashed. Even though he wasn’t as skillful, every attack was able to create a surging gale. With this amount of strength, if Yu Kuang got hit, he would definitely be badly injured.
As the barbarian got closer, Yu Kuang had no choice but to dodge and distract him with sword-energy.
Everyone present was on tenterhooks while watching the fight. Even the Spirit Realm Elders were unable to take their eyes off it.
There had been peace between the two species for a very long time, so none of the humans had ever fought a harpy barbarian before.
“Junior Sister Lu, who do you think will win?” Shao Zhengyang asked.
Lu Mingshu shook her head, “I don’t know.”
Tan Yubing added on, “Gentleman Yu is indeed powerful, but we do not know much about the barbarians, so it’s hard to tell.”
“The barbarians get their strength from their blood, and their strength is passed down from generation to generation, which is similar to demonic beasts,” Lu Mingshu then furrowed her eyebrows. “His strength seems to be way stronger than a human Harmonization Realm martial artist.”
“Yeah!” Shao Zhengyang looked over to where the barbarians were at. Being barbarians, they were screaming and shouting, and some even looked like they wanted to jump into the fight too. “The barbarians’ strength is a double-edged sword; if they don’t know how to control it, it will cause a backlash and they will suffer injuries.”
Lu Mingshu glanced at him, then at the main palace.
The king and queen were smiling from ear to ear and chatting with each other, as if they were watching a show.
This sent Lu Mingshu into deep thought.
Yu Kuang seemed like he had gotten hold of the harpy’s methods. He changed the way he fought and started to attack again.
Sword-energy shot across the sky like lighting. Before one beam disappeared, the second followed up, and slowly, the sword-energy congealed into strands. He ignored what the harpy was doing and simply continued spreading his sword-energy.
After a few minutes, the roof was filled with his sword-energy.
Some spectators were dumbstruck, “What the hell? Does he think he’s a spider?”
Indeed. Yu Kuang was like a busy spider, making a web of energy on the roof.
However, the harpy paid no attention to Yu Kuang spreading his sword-energy since he could break the strands with one punch.
But as Yu Kuang created more and more strands, the harpy’s range became smaller. No matter how he moved, he was limited by the sword-energy, and this sent him into a panic.
“Even something like this is possible?”
In the Heavenly Sea Pavilion area, Qi Sheng did a doubletake at the scene unfolding in front of him.
Kou Wei looked at him and laughed, “What do you expect? He’s crafty after all.”
Barbarians were very blunt, so Yu Kuang’s method of fighting annoyed them.
“But fighting like this, he will lose a lot of mystic energy! Can he sustain it?”
Kou Wei replied calmly, “Look, his sword-energy threads are all very thin. Even though he's spreading out so much, he isn’t actually using up much of his energy. Look at yourself – he’s so much better than you!”
Qi Sheng pouted, “I’m a pharmacist, how could you compare me with a martial artist?”
Kou Wei rolled his eyes, “Is Miss Lu not a pharmacist then? In terms of martial arts, you’re worse than her, and even in terms of pharmacology, you’re worse as well.”
“Senior Brother!” Qi Sheng exclaimed.
“Why are you shouting at me?” Kou Wei smacked him with his fan. “Would you be better than her if I didn’t mention anything? She’s not blind, you idiot!”
Qi Sheng leaned back and kept quiet.
Kou Wei shook his head and sighed. His junior brother was good in many ways, but he lacked motivation. If he starts working harder because he got provoked, I will be so thankful to Miss Lu.
On the roof, the fight had reached another stage, but it was a strange one.
Being restricted by the sword-energy, the barbarian was unable to attack Yu Kuang, and he was running out of patience because Yu Kuang wasn’t attacking him, but focusing on weaving his web as if he was here to perform some tricks instead of fight.
Upon realizing what was happening, the barbarians were in an uproar and shouted across to the rooftop.
“Stupid human, play fair!”
“How dare you treat my son in this way!”
Most barbarians couldn’t speak Chinese, so to Lu Mingshu and everyone else, they were basically just rambling, but looking at their expressions and actions, it was pretty obvious that they weren’t saying anything good.
Seeing the barbarians getting agitated, the human disciples started an uproar as well. They shouted at the barbarians angrily.
“Rude! How dare you insult a human martial artist on our land?”
“You barbarians, have you forgotten how we drove you out of China?”
The fight was happening on the rooftop, and the spectators below were cursing at each other. What a strange scene.
Lu Mingshu glanced over at the main palace. The king and queen were grinning from ear to ear, as if they were in a good mood.
“Stop, stop! I do not want to play anymore!” the barbarian who was fighting with Yu Kuang ran out of patience. Yu Kuang wasn’t even really fighting him, he was just concentrating on weaving his “web.” The barbarian was not only unable to move, he was unable to fight at all, so he felt vexed.
“You don’t play fair! I look down on you!” the barbarian pointed at Yu Kuang angrily. He stomped and jumped down back toward the barbarians with a huff.
Yu Kuang slowly put his sword away and turned to face the barbarians. He bowed, “You let me win!”
The disciples cheered loudly for Yu Kuang. On the other hand, the barbarians were about to blow their tops.
The king of Zhongzhou stood up and smiled, “It was just a spar, why get so upset about it? Let’s continue.”
