71 Old Friend: Part 14

0700 Hours. 11-B Classroom.

Mrs. Elizabeth was teaching the classroom currently. She was teaching English in front of that classroom. "Please come in," she said as the door in front of the room opened.

A student entered the classroom, "Now please introduce yourself," she said.

"My name is Lynn McGrath. You can call me Lynn, nice to meet you guys," Lynn said. She entered the classroom and sat down in the empty seat behind Lizeth's seat. She put her notebook on top of her table with a pencil case. She didn't put a pistol on top of her table.

If Lynn had changed just like what Aline said, she might be carrying some C4 on her bag. Still, everything was only a feeling and not a fact. She couldn't be hiding a pistol in her bag right?

1500 Hours. School Library.

"This is a study club isn't it?" Lizeth asked them all as they were sitting in a circle with the same homework that was given from the same teacher.

"Yup. Physics," Iris said.

"Well... Clara. You start first because you're usually the smartest from all of us," Lizeth said.

"Ok... We are going to solve this physics homework," Clara said as she opened the big book of physics in the library. The book contained all of the materials from the 10th grade to 12th grade. They used it as a reference.

Well, from all of them the only person that was struggling was Iris. Lynn and Lizeth were smart from the start and they only missed some lessons due to circumstances and Clara hadn't missed anything necessary in particular. Well, Iris was struggling with that subject.

"You know. It's should be Cos, not Sin," Clara corrected her work.

"Oh. Ok," Iris changed her answer.

"Sin can work too, but it's very very unnecessary and inconvenient," Lynn said.

"Yeah. I agree," Lizeth said.

"Physics is hard bruh," Iris said as she finished that last and hardest question of the homework. She was the last one to finish the homework. Clara was the first then Lizeth then Lynn then Iris.

All of them took a deep breath, Lizeth stood up, "Want a drink?"

"Tea," Clara said.

"Coffee. Black," Lynn said.

"Beer," Iris said.

Lizeth who was grabbing cups from the cabinet looked at her. Clara looked at her. Lynn glared at her. All of them were surprised by her choice. Lynn said, "Excuse me, but do this school even has beer?"

Clara responded, "Actually, yes."

Lizeth said, "Really? Where?"

"Chemistry lab. It's in the refrigerator," Iris said.

"Wow," Lizeth said.

"It's on a sealed reagent bottle that is marked as Bromine. It has a typo though, instead of Br it's written as BRn," Clara said to her.

Lizeth left for the chemistry lab before Iris interrupted her, "Here's the key card for the lab," Iris said.

"Ok," Lynn retrieved that keycard from her and she got out of the library to retrieve the "chemicals". She walked to the chemistry lab which was located on the second floor of the school. She walked up the staircase and went to the door of that chemistry lab.

She opened the door of that lab with the key card and closed the door again. The chemistry lab was surprisingly cool, maybe it was because some of the reagents on that lab were unstable. She opened the refrigerator and saw two reagents bottles. One was Bromine and the other was also Bromine. Unlike what Clara said, both of them were written as "Br".

She opened her phone and called Clara. She might know what's going on.

Lizeth: "Oy, both are bromine."

Clara: "What do you mean?"

Lizeth: "Both of them are written correctly."

Clara: "Is one of them has some sort of amber fumes inside the bottle?"

Lizeth: "I don't know. The bottles are colored amber."

Clara: "Open one of them."

Lizeth grabbed one of the bottles and opened it. It released amber-colored fumes. It must be real bromine. It was highly likely that the beer was in the other bottle. She grabbed that bottle back to the library.

Lizeth entered the door, "I got it, guys."

"Great. Open it," Iris said as Lizeth put the bottle in the middle of the table. She opened the bottle.

"Bruh," Iris said.

"Bruh," Clara said.

"Bruh," Lynn said.

The bottle let out orange-ish fumes. It was another bottle of Bromine. The beer was no longer in the lab. It got dumped by the teachers. It was another bottle of highly corrosive chemicals. Well, at least nobody got a sip of that chemical. Iris's stomach would have a hole if she drank it.

"Tea?" Lizeth offered.

"Yes," Iris grabbed her cup of tea and drunk it.

Lynn's phone was ringing. She requested permission to retrieve it. "May I?" She showed her phone.

"Sure."

She went outside of the library and retrieved the phone call. The phone call could be heard although it was vague. It was clearly said that she was talking with someone, but it wasn't her friend. It was the sound coming from an older person.

"Yes."

"What?"

"Now? Like right fucking now?"

"Seriously?"

"Fine."

Lynn entered her library and packed her bag. Iris wondered why she packed her bag and asked her, "Why are you packing your bag?"

"Sorry, I have a business that needs to be taken care off," She left the library abruptly leaving Iris and Clara in confusion. It confirmed that Clara didn't know that Lynn was Lima due to her surprised reaction. Lizeth wasn't surprised and let her be.

"Hmm, what's with that transfer student leaving us?" Iris asked her.

"She probably has something really really important to do," Lizeth answered as she packed her bag.

"Where are you going?" Iris asked her.

"I'm going to the coffee shop near our school. Maybe I should bring my car, want to tag along?" Lizeth asked Clara and Iris.

"No thanks," Iris said.

"Nah, I have to rest for a bit. My pain is still killing me," Clara said as Lizeth left the library. She left for her car due to the fact that Lynn might need her help sooner or later.
