185 Why I Became A Contractor: Part 23

Tuesday, 10th of April 2018. Old Highschool. Lynn's Class. 2100 Hours. Task Force Infanta.

The solid combat boots stomped the cold ceramic floor of the hallway. The air was blowing coldly from the opening in that hallway. The person beside me was busy with his laptop. He was fiddling with codes.

The school was soundless. There was no sign of human activity. It was very dark if not for the AN-PVS 14 on top of my head. Everything looked so green from behind these goggles. That laptop screen would be shining brightly if not for the dark mode.

"Sierra, can you breach the firewall?" I asked.

Sierra just shook his head. The firewall must be too strong to be breached quickly. Well, accessing the wifi router directly wouldn't hurt if not for the power source being disabled to disable the CCTV. The backup power generator only had the power to restore the main server which Sierra had to access through the onboard wifi inside of his computer which wasn't strong at all.

I chose another approach. I would hack right into the server of this school and hopefully, got some internal data that might be helpful in my revenge against Farl. There was no need to hunt Sissy down again since she was in a safe house this entire time and I didn't have to kill her either since she had lost the game this time.

"I'll go to the server room. What do I need to do?" I asked.

Sierra grabbed something from her back which had a close resemblance to an Ethernet router. It needed to be plugged into the server of that school and Sierra would gain access to the server.

I ran to the server room and Sierra sat down in the hallway of my school. Sweat started dripping in my face and falling to my neck. It was cold, but it still falling down my head.

The wooden door had a plate on top of it. It was written that it was the server room, as a result, I entered that room, but the door was locked. The door was an ordinary wooden door that might have been eaten by ages. I could pry it open easily with my crowbar and so I did.

I grabbed the crowbar from by back and pried that door open. The lock wasn't that tight and I could open it easily. As I entered that room, the breeze of cold air was coming from inside. The source of the cold air was the dead air conditioner that was always turned on if not for the dead power.

There was an Ethernet cable slot in that server and I plugged the router into that cable. Sierra immediately confirmed that the server was connected to his laptop.

Sierra: "All info about Lane Mcfarlane. Right?"

Lynn: "Yeah. All info about my old friend. I'll kill him later, but for now, this will do."

The fans inside of that server turned on as the workload for that server increased. Right now, the server usage was at 80% according to the monitor in that server room. The air in that room turned hotter as the fan blew faster.

Sierra: "All done. Come out."

I stood up and took the router from the server itself. I put the server inside of the tactical bag and walked back into the server room. I would be back into the hallway and Sierra was back into the laptop. However, he was holding an M249 in his hands. It was not a good thing. There was no purpose of holding a squad automatic weapon in a stealth base operation.

"Good news, we just trigger the silent alarm and the police should be coming in any minutes. You should prepare for heavy combat, I'll call those in the armored vehicle." Sierra grabbed his phone and asked for backup.

"Alrighty. This just gets worse isn't it?" The stealth loadout got replaced with my heavy combat loadout which consisted of MG5 and 200 round magazines with muzzle brake.

The siren could be heard in the background. The police had come in to arrest us. It seemed like that they surrounded the entire school complex and I would bet that a sniper was situated around the whole perimeter.

My NVG was still in my head and Sierra turned the whole city block into a blackout so nobody could see us. I used the laser sight on my MG since aiming down sight with a night vision goggles on top of your head was quite a nuisance.

"Infanta, going dark." Sierra flipped his night-vision goggles as the whole city block lights were turned off one by one. The blinking blue and red siren could be seen right behind the roof of the whole school.

As the heavy footsteps came towards us, we immediately know that the police would have entered the building. Three police entered the building with flashlights on their hands. Our light machine gun was equipped with a flash hider so they wouldn't be able to see where the shots were coming from.

I pulled the trigger of my MG5 and blasted those police full of 7.62x51mm bullets. All of them were dead and I could progress to the exterior of my school. We ran to the exterior of the school and damn, it was so bright that it was almost impossible to see a thing with NVG.

I flipped my NVG and used my FLIR scope to look at the bright side of the police. It was much better to use that than the NVG when the source of light was better. I shot at those policies that were hiding behind the cars. The bullets cut through the cars like a hot knife through butter.

However, we did have the amount of firepower to hold the polices off, but we don't have the number of bullets to keep dealing with the number of cops that kept coming and coming. There was no way we could escape from the school unless some sort of backup came.

"My gun is jammed. Help me will you?" Sierra uncleared his gun as I keep shooting at the cops from behind the cover. I tried to stay agile by moving from one wall to another so the cops would have a hard time finding me.

I pulled a grenade from my tactical rig and threw the grenade at them. The grenade exploded and produced a lot of shrapnel that killed the cops and the lights on top of those patrol cars.

After that, we got the upper hand since we could use the NVG again and they could not see us. I immediately shot back at those cops who were firing in the wrong direction. I kept pushing them out of their cover as they couldn't see us.

The polices dropped on the ground one by one. If the sky wasn't dark, one could see that the bodies had begun to pile up on the ground. The MG had run out of ammunition, I needed to reload.

"Cover me, reloading." I pulled the bolt of the gun, opened the cover, and replaced the belt with a new one. I continued shooting the gun after that. As bullets flying, the reinforcement became fiercer and the SWAT team started arriving on the location with their assault rifle.

Suddenly, there was one big truck that was bigger than the SWAT'S car. The truck rammed the truck and I could see someone on top of the truck. Someone was firing a heavy machine gun turret at that truck and killed all of the passengers inside of that SWAT vehicle.

Sierra ran to that vehicle and I followed him from behind. Well, they were the enemies of our enemies, but I didn't know whether they were our friends or not. The small person that was on the heavy machine gun turret opened the door for us.

The door of that car was very heavy and very thick. It was far different from the door of Echo's armored Chevrolet suburban. It was the Teradyne Gurkha with a heavy machine gun turret on top of it.

We jumped into the backseat of that truck and Sierra closed the door for us. The small figure kept shooting the heavy machine gun at the SWAT team that was chasing us. "Hi, sorry for the brief interruption, but my name is Bravo, nice to meet you Lima."

Ok, this person seemed to be smaller than me, but none of that mattered, he was rescuing me and I should thank him for that. The sound of a heavy machine gun kept going on top of us. "Don't worry, we've been through this too many times."
