Chapter 355: Surrounded

Shane received the value points from the opponents he had defeated automatically.

As such, the only thing he had to do was to collect their spatial rings. This hardly took any time, and Shane disappeared through Cosmo's spatial portal only a few seconds later.

After that both Umbra and Cosmo entered the Hidden Paradise once again, leaving Shane alone.

Taking a deep breath, he couldn't help but smile lightly.

He had stored the spatial rings inside a small pouch, allowing everyone to sense their own mana imprints whenever Shane passed by them.

Another idea was slowly taking shape in his head, but Shane was not exactly sure if he should really do what was on his mind.

However, on the other hand, it was something that could turn into an entertaining situation.

At least, for him!.

Everyone else would most likely hate him, but would he waste his time caring about that?

As such, he decided to set his plans into action.

Only three days had passed and there were still 13 days left before the fourth-floor task would be over.

While Princess Ilya had accumulated around 3,000 value points, Shane had begun to increase his pace, and offend every single group he could come across.

There were only a few specific things he wanted to accomplish inside the fluare tower dungeon, to begin with.

Because of that, he could collect as many points as possible, and finish the fourth floor's task with a high number of value points, while completing the <Rage> mission.

With that, he would be able to receive a mana purification manual with an upper limit of 97% owing to the limitation crystals he had!

Shane's points had increased to over 8,500 in a matter of three days.

Not only had he fought more than a dozen groups since then, but Shane hadn't even stopped offending the stronger opponents who had accumulated more than 1,000 value points by themselves.

Right now, he was facing an opponent with more than 1,500 value points, who had tried to ambush him.

Unfortunately for the young prodigy, Shane's eyes were not only in front of him, but his tamed beasts were able to clearly see the outside world through him.

The only necessity was to create a small portal that would lead to the Hidden Paradise around him.

Because of this rather unfortunate disadvantage for the young prodigy, Shane had been able to use the planned ambush in order to surprise attack his opponent.

As Shane turned around, Umbra shot out of his chest, while using his darkness affinity to explosively release the dark fog.

At the same time, Cosmo emerged behind Shane, utilizing his [Space Jump] ability in order to manifest a spatial portal right next to Shane, and the corresponding second portal one meter behind the young prodigy.

Wasting no time, Shane manifested the Sword of Blood, Mydra, in his hand as he jumped through the spatial portal.

Darkness surrounded Shane while traveling through the portal, and the young prodigy who had attacked him was utterly dumbfounded to see Shane suddenly vanish into thin air.

Umbra's appearance was already shocking, but only a moment later, he sensed huge mana fluctuations behind him as dense bloodlust-killing-intent was released at once.

Before the hapless youth could even blink, he saw how his chest had been pierced by a sword.

The young prodigy's sight blurred in an instant, and he collapsed to the ground unsure of how or what had happened.

Meanwhile, Shane was glad that he had instructed Cosmo and Umbra to pay attention and inform him against any surprise attacks from the backside.

Earlier, when he had fought against another team, Shane had realised that some of them were able to conceal their mana core almost completely.

Thankfully, he didn't ignore the possibility of this happening again and had summoned his loyal beasts. Otherwise, he would have had some problems right now.

The opponent Shane had fought just now was not extraordinarily strong, but his innate assassination capabilities were strong enough to make up for lower physical strength and even mana purity.

Unfortunately, he had encountered the wrong opponent.

Now that Shane had accumulated 10,000 value points he felt reassured.

The reward of the fourth floor should be something grand, but he couldn't help but feel like he should accumulate more points.

In the end, he wanted to participate in the Primordial tournament in order to further increase his strength on a long-term basis, and the tournament was one of the grand opportunities Shane had to grasp in order to achieve this!

Other than that, he wanted to fulfill the hidden occupations' requirements to obtain permission to choose the occupation he wanted!

There was not a single way that the hidden occupation could be something bad, and Shane would be lying if he were to say that he was not eager to find out.

Unfortunately, this expectation was overwhelmed by the flood of news about the Great Elven war that had started once again.

This was a devastating piece of news, and it was known that the basic races that were in an alliance with an elven race would suffer the most.

It was not a rule, or something predetermined, but history held a painful memory of how things had turned out the last time things had spiraled out of control.

Somehow, Shane couldn't help but think that creating an alliance with the forest elves was the first big mistake his father had made.

John Stella was probably regretting this decision too, but it was a matter of the past. As such, he could only give his best to make up for the mistake.

Unfortunately, this was easier said than done and hearing the news about the Dark Ice Elves that seemed to act more aggressively than they had ever done caused Shane to feel uncomfortable.

If the Dark Ice Elves were to find out the exact coordinates of Igra, nobody knew what havoc they would wreak on Igra.

However, one thing that was certain was that mankind would have to face many major problems, if not their annihilation!

Shane was strolling through the forest, without bothering about concealing his appearance a little bit.

Instead, he was trying to lure all kinds of groups towards him.

Owing to the system mission, Shane was able to see how many individuals whose rage was focused on him were in his surroundings.

This loophole could be exploited and thus he used it in his favor to avoid anyone he didn't want to encounter for the time being.

Shane was not sure if there were 100 individuals already who were enraged by him or his entire existence.

As such, he could only avoid certain groups or beings until he was certain about that.

Encountering everyone before that was not what Shane had planned, and would most likely even be his doom.

Thanks to the possibility of him exploiting the system mission, three days had passed.

There were only 10 days left, and Shane's value points had increased to around 15,000.

On the leaderboard that had appeared only a few days ago, he was now placed at rank 5.

This was dissatisfying, but from what Princess Ilya had told him, the ranks above him were about to liquefy their mana with a mana purity of 98%, or 99%!

Apparently, they were the cream of the crop who wanted to reap the last possible benefits, hoping to obtain the right to increase their mana purity by only one, or two percent.

Unfortunately, this was not possible, and their efforts were for naught.

Nevertheless, the resources they could obtain inside the fluare tower dungeon were still great. As such, Shane assumed that the four beings that were above him in the rankings would participate in the Primordial tournament as well!

This was interesting to know, but Shane had other problems to solve right now!

There were a total of 150 individuals around him, and every single one's rage was focused on him!
