The more he looked at the surrounding battles, the more likely was his assumption that everyone was trying to hold back.
In some cases, this was the smartest move one could make, however, most of the time it caused someone to lose needlessly while sustaining injuries that could have been prevented.
Shane was not a fan of holding back, but he saw the need to hide certain unique abilities. Revealing everything at once would allow the strongest opponents one would fight later to be vigilant and fully prepared, making them lose on the element of surprise.
Despite perceiving the entire situation, Shane had decided that it was the best for him to reveal everything.
To be precise, he had already done so, and there wasn't much that opponents who observed him vigilantly didn't know anyway.
However, in comparison to before, Shane decided to modify the plan he had initially wanted to pursue.
The next few rounds would decimate the number of participants by a huge margin.
If he was estimating the situation correctly, there would probably be another 20 rounds one had to fight before the Primordial tournament would come to an end.
This was neither much nor something Shane had to be afraid of.
He would just give his best and observe everyone intently.
If someone were too strong, taking a step back and retreating was still an option.
It might be humiliating and shatter his pride, but surviving was always more important.
Now that the second round was about to start soon, Shane decided that it was important to absorb the dense and extremely pure mana in his surroundings.
The dimension in which the Primordial tournament was held could be said to be among the best Basic Primordial dimensions in terms of mana purity and density.
This allowed Shane to replenish his mana in a matter of minutes, while the Hidden Paradise's mana absorption was draining the surrounding of mana.
Even though it attracted some attention, nobody was able to understand how Shane was absorbing mana so quickly.
As such, his Hidden Paradise was not only able to replenish the mana he had utilized but also increase the amount of mana stored within it.
Meanwhile, Shane also cultivated for a few hours with the Invincible Scimitar right next to him.
Its [Endless accumulation] ability was absorbing mana continuously.
Because of all that, Shane felt as if it was possible for him to give his best in every single battle.
With a resting period of several hours that would help him refuel his mana, the only thing Shane had to pay attention to were injuries.
Preventing them was a necessity, and if everything worked properly, the amount of stored mana would increase instead of decreasing for as long as the Primordial tournament went.
Thanks to these thoughts, his mind was calm and Shane was able to enter the arena he was assigned to for the second round fight.
His opponent was another beast which didn't even surprise him anymore.
There were two if not three times the number of beasts that participated in the Primordial tournament than intelligent races.
Nevertheless, Shane wouldn't underestimate any kind of opponent anymore. Taking a proper look at his opponent, Shane noticed that it was a ginormous, yet slim rooster with thick flames replacing its feathers.
The aura radiating from it was dominating and was strong enough to exert pressure on Cosmo that he had never felt in his entire existence before.
This was interesting but didn't tell Shane anything about its combat prowess.
From what he could assume, the flames were slightly weaker than Miriam's, but at the same time, Shane felt that they were more easily controllable, with fewer limitations such as mana consumption.
However, it was still advantageous that the blazing rooster's flames were less threatening than Miriam's, otherwise, he would have lots of problems right now!
During Miriam's comprehension of the Phoenix domain, her flame's lethality increased substantially, and if he were to fight someone with a similar lethality, giving his all might not be enough.
Taking a deep breath, Shane waited for the system to initiate the start of the battle, with excitement bubbling within him.
Having fought against Miriam several dozen times during the last few weeks, Shane knew what exactly he had to pay attention to.
Nevertheless, the rooster was different to Miriam, more ferocious and seemingly desperate to enhance its bloodline.
The moment the battle started, the blaze rooster turned into a poor imitation of a Lesser Phoenix as its blazing wings enlarged before it spit out flames that targeted Shane.
Evading the flames of fire by utilizing the [Light steps] movement technique continuously, Shane figured out that he had to observe everything intently.
His opponent might not be skilled in replicating a Lesser Phoenix's image, but the dangers Shane sensed were much higher than that of the phoenix Miriam's Phoenix domain had manifested.
This might have multiple reasons, but something seemed wrong.
It was only a moment later that Shane saw something out of the corner of his eye. The flames which the blazing rooster had spit out were not dissipating, but moving towards him!
Watching them advance towards him made Shane frown before Cosmo appeared in the free hand which he had stretched out.
In a swift move, he placed Cosmo on his shoulder, who utilized the [Space Jump] ability, allowing him to emerge ten meters above the center of the arena.
The blazing rooster was still far away from him, but it was astonished about the sudden place he had appeared.
However, this didn't stop it from attacking him relentlessly.
If the blazing rooster had paid attention to what was happening, it would have noticed something dangerous.
While Cosmo had utilized the [Space Jump] ability, he had also summoned another spatial portal, which Umbra, who had emerged the moment the flames reached Shane, had used.
Under normal circumstances, it was impossible to miss a beast with a length of 130 meters, but apparently, that had just happened.
Even Shane couldn't help but frown when he saw this because it was ridiculous for a warrior to be blind to what went on around it when fighting a battle.
Yet, instead of complaining about it, he simply used the advantage he gained from this.
The second spatial portal had moved Umbra towards the back of the arena, right behind the blazing rooster.
This had allowed him to manifest darkness spears all around his lengthy body.
It didn't take the blazing rooster long before it noticed that something was wrong, but the moment it turned towards Umbra's direction, it realised that it had committed a fatal error.
Several dozen highly compressed spears of darkness had been shot straight into the rooster's body.
Except for the thick flames enveloping the blazing rooster tightly, its defensive capabilities were not comparable to those of an Overlord beast.
However, the blazing rooster's attacks were!
Shane was still facing several whips of flames, which was what he called them, evading them by twisting his body and Cosmo's spatial portals that served their purpose of being an asset!
Blood gushed out of the numerous wounds Umbra's spears of darkness had inflicted onto the blazing rooster.
The moment the blazing rooster cried out in pain, Shane sensed his opportunity. Cosmo knew what he wanted to do, thus he quickly manifested a Spatial portal. It let them emerge right above the blazing rooster that was facing Umbra.
With the Invincible Scimitar in one hand, Shane utilised every means possible to strengthen his body, and the Invincible Scimitar as a sly smile appeared on his face.
"Sorry buddy, it's over!"
With these words, Shane slashed out with the Scimitar that glowed faintly.
