Looking into Shane's eyes, Frer was unsure what to think of the youth in front of her because he seemed unruffled by her strongest revelation of blood lust killing intent which not even her sisters or Aisha had been capable of fighting when they had to face it for the first time.
Adding the fact that Shane was barely at the 3rd Apprentice stage, she and the other valkyries were sure that the youth in front of them had to belong to a special origin, which their Captain was most likely aware of.
Otherwise, it would be weird for Aisha to ask Shane if he wanted to join them even if it was only for a picnic as well as her nonchalant behavior around Shane even though he couldn't be described as polite or anything remotely close to that.
It felt just as if two new friends were around each other.
Shane was still standing in front of Frer, waiting for her response because he wanted her to demonstrate her own comprehension of the blood lust killing intent once again.
However, Frer switched back to her shy demeanor and he couldn't help but feel as if two different personalities resided within her because her behavior was extremely weird for him.
Nevertheless, Shane was adamant about his request which made Frer feel encouraged as she distanced herself from him, before switching to her combat stance.
Shane readied himself once again, and he had to completely immerse himself in the feeling of her bloodlust killing intent, in order to understand it.
As such, he focused completely on Frer, as she revealed her full bloodlust killing intent only to wait a short moment for Shane to see the tranquil state, before she shot towards him, where he was once again 'killed'.
His body was still not able to cope up with the inflicted fear and bloodthirstiness it was suddenly infiltrated with, but Shane's mind was almost crystal clear thanks to his passive [Hunter's mind], which helped him to remain level-headed.
It was entirely different when compared to the first time wherein Frer had attacked him with the Slaughterer's Path technique, and she had forced him to retreat several steps, which was an instinctive protective measure.
However, this time he didn't fall on his butt or get overwhelmed by her bloodlust, as Shane firmly said, without averting his attention from her bloodlust for a single moment "Again, please!"
Several tries later, the Valkyries' shocked expression soured, as the bloodlust even approached them, and made them feel uncomfortable. Suddenly, they heard a loud clang as if metal clashed upon metal when they saw that Shane was knocked away several meters, only to land in front of a shocked Valkyrie who saw his pale face.
Everyone jumped up in shock, and Frer's eyes widened as she immediately retracted her bloodlust killing intent. She rushed towards Shane, who tried to stand up, but his legs buckled and he almost went down.
Gritting his teeth, he tried to control his body with all his might, as he stood up, trembling.
Looking into Frer's eyes, he smiled brightly and said
"I didn't die!"
Hearing this, everyone sighed in relief, because he was relatively unharmed if he was able to joke about Frer not being able to kill him.
Aisha appeared next to Shane and eyed him weirdly because she noticed what he did and even if Frer had demonstrated the Slaughterer's Path several dozen times to him, it was astonishing to see that he was able to deflect her lethal attacks, even if the second attack would have evidently killed him.
Taking out a recuperation potion, Shane thanked her, only to walk towards his Crismon Yaeli longsword, which laid a few meters away from him.
Dusting off the dirt, he put the sword back in the spatial ring as he scratched his head, smiling foolishly and mumbled "I don't think my body can handle any more."
It was obvious that Shane couldn't cope up with the pressure anymore, which caused everyone around to roll with their eyes.
Sighing deeply, Aisha asked herself why Shane's behavior was so excessively focused on becoming stronger, but after thinking about it for a moment, she began to wonder if that was the only thing Shane knew.
From what Uncle Lars had told her about their president and small circle of friends, Aisha was sure that Shane's life must have been tough without much free time on his hands.
Seeing that he only bothered about becoming stronger, she concluded that he didn't relax much either.
'Did he run away from home?' She suddenly asked herself, thinking that it was weird for Shane, as the son of one of the richest humans with the widest connections, to enter the Shirai academy, while hiding his identity.
Thinking that this might be the case, she also understood why Uncle Lars asked her to also enroll in the Shirai academy.
In the end, his family still cared about Shane, even if he ran away, which was somewhat childish in her opinion.
'Well, I also had my rebellious phase, so it shouldn't be problematic.' She simply thought before she clapped once with her hands, quieting down the valkyries in an instant.
"Now that we are done with the serious part today, we might as well start with our picnic and barbeque, right?" Aisha smiled lightly, and everyone relaxed because it was rare to see their captain smile, and Shane only nodded his head, as he slowly walked back towards his seat.
Sitting down, he noticed that everyone took out a large bunch of dishes from their spatial ring, and Shane decided to do the same, as he took out a few dishes that he had left from the BlackSoul shelter.
Fortunately enough, the spatial ring would prevent them from going bad, which was essential, otherwise, he would have to throw almost every food item that he had purchased, straight into the garbage bin.
Nevertheless, Shane couldn't help but chuckle lightly when he compared his dishes that were worth a few bronze coins with the dishes in front of him. Aisha noticed this and immediately suggested giving him some of her dishes.
Not wanting to be an inconvenience, Shane politely declined her offer, however, several other Valkyries too offered him their dishes that caused him to frown.
'Can't I have my peace please?'
He was thankful for their kindness but now they were getting on his nerves.
In the end, he accepted Aisha's offer in order to pacify the others which he adamantly repeated several times.
'Why do I feel like I'm an attraction in a Zoo on Earth?!' The Valkyries began to talk amongst themselves about all kinds of things, while Shane looked around, with a faint smile.
Sitting there, without any responsibilities felt great. He chatted a little with Aisha and sometimes Frer who just blurted a few sentences into their conversation, before hiding behind Aisha, only peeking out her head.
Shane was still not able to understand Frer, or Aisha, who was completely different from the rumors he had heard so far, telling him that he should not believe everything he read online because it could be fabricated.
However, other than that, the valkyries also stared weirdly from him to Aisha, which indicated that it was still weird for Aisha to behave like she did today.
After they finished their picnic, Aisha ordered the Valkyries to finish their preparations for the next day as the expedition would start.
Bidding farewell to Shane, they went their separate ways in the evening and he was glad to have met the valkyries.
Entering the dorm in the evening, he took a shower and put on a clean set of clothes, before he brushed his teeth.
He stepped into his room and was immediately assaulted by his roommates who pounced on him to ask him questions while staring threateningly at him.
However, without further ado, he brushed away Lars and Paul, who were barely one rank above him, which Shane perceived disapprovingly.
'Are they even practicing anything or cultivating?!' He asked himself, as he never saw them doing anything arduous.
Maybe they considered sleeping as difficult, but Shane could only shake his head, as he noticed Uir glaring at him, with watery eyes, as he shouted.
"Not only are you staying out each night to have your fun, but now you're even stealing our cold, yet beautiful goddess and her Valkyries?"
