Old Emperor Kalur transferred the majority of his mana into the nature Elemental who could barely control the mana it received.
Maintaining the skill it was using, the nature Elementals liquefied mass fluctuate a lot, showing how exhausting its work was.
However, the result was almost immediately visible.
Shane and the fox's wound that had already stopped bleeding began to show signs of healing and their pained expression relaxed a little.
After the nature Elemental noticed that it ordered the assistants' to bring the floating carrier to the royal treatment chamber where Shane and the Lesser Starlet fox would receive further treatment.
They had escaped death by a hair's breadth. It was a wonder as to how Shane was able to stay conscious for such a long time, considering the severe blood loss that he had suffered, yet, both would survive, which was everything that mattered in the end.
The Old Emperor couldn't help but feel great after he figured that out when he heard the human ambassador behind him clearing his throat.
"Honorable Old Emperor, now that Shane and the little fox are safe, we should return to sign the trading agreement and treaty, right?"
Malua had clearly failed to read the atmosphere in his surroundings and Kalur's good mood plummeted within a single second.
Turning towards Malua, who was restless, and was looking at the emperor with impatience glimmering in his eyes, the Old Emperor could only say in frustration.
"You can be glad that your race has someone like Shane! It annoys me to even look at you, please return to your planet! I won't sign the agreement with a selfish, ignorant and inexperienced ambassador, as you are! Tell your race whatever you want, but don't dare to set another foot on Masua!"
Kalur had already been annoyed by Malua because of multiple mistakes he had made. Adding the fact that the human race's offers were not as great as they had expected, the Old Emperor in addition to Empress Idral and Emperor Kidar were of the same opinion- We will sign the treaty with the human race only because of Shane.
This might be seen as something foolish by other races, but what Empress Idral perceived through her Innate Skill 'Foresight' was the best result she had ever received so far in the form of Shane by investigating someone with it!
The next highest result was her own daughter, whom she thought to be unparalleled amongst all basic races.
Even some Intermediate races had a worse start than Ilya, who had to destroy her cultivation in order to adjust to the two repulsive elemental affinities she harbored.
Because she destroyed her cultivation, she was able to establish a better foundation than other Superior Elementals who didn't do the same, even if it would have taken them a while.
Under normal circumstances, if they were not extremely talented, Superior Elementals would just take the direct way to the Intermediate dimension without wasting their precious time under the impression that they might be able to create a better foundation than they already possessed.
However, this was something Princess Ilya should have been able to do. In the end, she had to destroy her prior foundation either way, as such she didn't waste her time but utilized it properly!
To put it simply, Shane's potential or future was said to be brighter than Ilya's who already had better chances than everyone else in the Elus-race might ever have.
Thus, it was worth investing in Shane's race and trusting in the Empress's [Foresight] ability.
Nevertheless, Old Emperor Kalur was unable to digest the human race ambassador's words or his selfish behavior after he heard him nonchalantly talking about Shane who barely escaped death.
He had yet to regain his consciousness and it might take a while before he would have recuperated from the deep injuries he had sustained.
Yet, the human ambassador thought that he was not only worthy enough to waste the Old Emperor's time by acting like one of the greatest rookie ambassador's Kalur had ever seen but also that Kalur would be unable to reject the 'great' agreement the human race presented to the Elus-race.
In the end, Malua hadn't even considered lowering the offered price list he had received for one second thinking that they were fair enough.
This was despite knowing that he was allowed to lower the prices!!
Even worse was that Malua had learned, as an ambassador, that it was important to lower the prices stated in the price list in order to seem more generous. This would create the opportunity to create a proper relationship with the other race!
As if that was not enough, the secretary who had passed on Kia Mel's words had ordered him to lower the prices, knowing that they could sound too high!
If one was a meritable ambassador and had the ability to foster good relations between the two races, one could use these high prices to lower them without going beyond the lowered price list that the government had already calculated and put in place!
In the end, Malua had made too many mistakes and if Kia Mel or any authority from the government would have witnessed them, Malua, the young, inexperienced ambassador might have been replaced by a proper ambassador by now.
The reason to send Malua to the Elementals Empire was simple. They had believed that if he followed everything according to protocol, there wouldn't have been a problem to begin with.
All of that was due to Shane's hard pre-work and the fact that the Elus-race genuinely liked Shane due to multiple reasons, except the foresight ability!
At the same time, Malua would have gained lots of experience for future use, but unfortunately enough, he failed miserably and caused the almost confirmed treaty with the Elus-race to fall apart.
Umbra slithered behind the floating carrier, worried about Shane as he could feel that he was still in pain, despite the nature Elementals' healing.
However, he was too large and obstructed everyone else who wanted to help Shane.
As such, Umbra had to suppress his worry as he slithered closer to Shane until he reached the range to open a small portal to the Hidden Paradise through which he disappeared.
This shocked everyone in the surrounding, and even the Old Emperor couldn't help but look at the empty space in front of him in confusion.
There weren't any ripples in the space in front of him and neither mana fluctuations.
The 50-meter-long Horned Darkness snake vanished into thin air without leaving any traces of its existence behind!
'Not only was he able to summon the Lesser Starlet Fox from empty space but his tamed beast can use this too?'
Shane exceeded the Old Emperor's expectations almost every time he saw him.
Thinking about the young, injured youth with the injured Lesser Starlet Fox sleeping on his abdomen, he forgot the human ambassador's existence.
Malua, who was left behind at the Dimension Portal, couldn't help but sweat profusely as he thought that he would be punished badly.
'I won't be able to retain my position as an ambassador...Is it even safe to return to Igra?'
His mind was filled with all kinds of wild thoughts, but one thing was certain.
He had messed up everything!!
Gritting his teeth, he could barely suppress the anger building up within himself as he manifested the system's holographic screen.
Typing in a message, he apologized to Kia Mel as he wrote
[Hello Ms Mel,
I'm sorry to say this, but it looks like I made a huge mistake and if everything goes wrong, it might even be the reason for our race to be unable to form a trading agreement, let alone a treaty with the Elus race…
I'm terribly sorry….
I also wanted to report that the young man, Shane, returned to Masua, badly injured. He is barely able to hang on to his life, but the Elus-race saved him… Doesn't that mean we still have a chance to sign a treaty with them?
Greetings,
Malua]
Though Malua was selfish and self-centered, he knew when to apologize. However, at the same time he was sly too!
He used Shane's injury to divert the attention from his miserable failure to Shane, who was obviously an important youth to Kia.
At least, if the things he had heard were right.
In the end, he had to take a gamble and when he read Kia Mel's message he couldn't contain his smile anymore.
[What happened to Shane?? Where is he now? Is he fine? How bad is his injury? Will the Elus-race take care of him? If they don't have a good treatment room for races with a physical body, tell them that they should send Shane back to us!!]
However his smile suddenly stiffened when he received a second message.
[Do you think your plan worked out fine? Come back to Igra and receive your punishment after we assess your work. If we can't sign the treaty and trading agreement, you'll receive a small punishment, but if you cause hostility between our races...don't even dare to come back!! What did you even study to become an ambassador that fails such an almost secured alliance??]
Malua couldn't help but sigh when he had read through the second message as he stepped through the Dimension Portal
'My mistakes are not worth creating hostility between our races right? I guess...Probably?'
With that thought in mind, Malua returned to Igra, where he would have to face his punishment.
The government was fine with mistakes, but if someone intentionally tried to cause disturbance, leading to hostility between their race and other races, it might even lead to war.
This was something nobody wanted, which was the reason for all races to be careful about the person they normally sent to create a proper relationship with other races.
When Kia had read that Shane was injured, she was worried, but knowing that the Elus-race liked him, according to Shane's statement, she felt that they would look after him.
However, she began to ask herself how exactly Malua had become an ambassador, which turned into more confusion, when Malu reported everything he did to the government.
'How the hell did we allow someone like Malua to become an ambassador...Who the hell messes up like that???'
