Now that the dungeon inside the radiant mountain ring had been made public to everyone, the entire basic race gathering seemed to have lost its meaning.
However, at the same time, it didn't disband as the representatives had a premonition about the Miac alliance suddenly opening the dungeon to everyone after trying hard to cover its existence.
There were many different possibilities, but the most likely ones were that a certain floor of the dungeon required a high number of participants which the Miac alliance couldn't reach or didn't want to reach due to a particular reason.
'If there was a warning about the lethality of the floor or a certain prerequisite was given, the revelation of the calamity-rank dungeon made by the miac alliance, would make more sense….I think?'
Shane had no idea how dangerous the dungeon was exactly, but it was not difficult to tell that he was not strong enough to venture through it right now!
With a mana purity of 68% and a perfect physique at the 7th Expert stage, he was extremely strong, but he had yet to choose an occupation, and he was unable to fight a huge number of strong opponents at once.
It would be suicidal to enter the dungeon, at least not right now, or without draining the mana stored inside the Hidden Paradise!
Nevertheless, he was still planning to enter the dungeon because the opportunity was just too great to ignore. With that thought in mind, Shane had already crafted a plan, and it was only after Cosmo finished his quality enhancement that he could start executing it!
The first point of his plan was to finish the Innate Taming Skill's upgrade mission where he required Cosmo's help.
Cosmo's quality increased to [Legendary] and his fur became shinier, while his height increased to 35 centimeters. The strip of gold-colored stream of stars across his fur became more distinct and it was almost as if the stars were moving.
However, that was not the important point because Shane was able to tell that Cosmo's strength increased drastically while his status panel was even more exciting than Shane had expected!
_______________
Name: [Cosmo♂]
Title: [Limit breaker]
Race:[Lesser Starlet Fox]
Rank: [10th Awakened-stage (70%)]
Quality: [Legendary]
|Evolution| +
Affinity: Highest Basic Spatial
Ability: [Space jump]
Loyalty: [89%]
_______________
Not only did Cosmo's loyalty increase to [89%], or his rank that reached the 1st Awakened stage with a combat prowess of 70%, which was a drastic increase in strength, but he had also received the title [Limit breaker] exactly as Umbra did!
[Limit breaker] Every individual with this effect, has broken through its racial limit.
[Strengthening +10%, Mana circulation +10% , Mana consumption -10% , Intelligence +10%]
To put it simply, Cosmo was now probably the strongest living Lesser Starlet Fox and he had reached his racial limit!
Without evolving, only a higher quality enhancement through Shane's [Taming] skill's effects, or the additional boost from the [Ancient ring of the Susurro] could further increase Cosmo's strength!
But was that even required? Umbra was already extremely powerful, and Cosmo's spatial affinity would be much more versatile and easier to use now that he had gained the same title as Umbra.
Other than that, Shane noticed that his small companion's speed was shockingly high.
There was no doubt that Cosmo would be able to defeat the lightning gazelle while racing against it!
Thus, after the reconciliation of Cosmo with both Shane and Umbra was over, Shane immediately accessed his Innate Skill's upgrade mission section before he chose to let Cosmo race.
Unfortunately neither he nor Umbra were able to see what was going on, because Cosmo alone had been teleported for the race. Thus, the only thing they were able to do was to sense Cosmo's emotions.
He was eerily calm and not even two minutes had passed before Cosmo, who had disappeared earlier, appeared right next to them once again.
His sudden reappearance confused Shane but Cosmo was still extremely calm as he transmitted the memories from the prior two minutes to both Umbra and Shane.
Based on his memories, both of them could see that Cosmo's speed had been at par with the lightning gazelle, meaning that both were faster than Umbra.
However, the more important point was that Cosmo had used several Spatial portals at once.
One pair was used to bring him further ahead, while the others were casually placed to distract the lightning gazelle and help him move backward.
Previously, Cosmo had some trouble making the portals work as per his wish but now, on the first try of the Innate Taming Skill upgrade mission, he had improved a lot.
Shane couldn't help but think that Cosmo's placement of the spatial portals was even better than that of the Golden Centipede King!
This was great, and Shane couldn't hold back his smile when he received multiple notifications at once.
[[Upgrade-Mission] |Uncommon ★★★|→Let one of your tamed beasts race against a 'lightning gazelle' accomplished! Reward- Innate taming skill ability <Soul connection +>]
[Soul connection +] Firm, strengthened connection with your tamed beasts.
[[Upgrade-Mission] |Uncommon ★★★★|<Unlocked> → Demonstrate your superior teamwork. Defeat 20 Overlord beasts with the help of your tamed beasts!]
The newly unlocked mission was ridiculously annoying because it was already a hassle to defeat one Overlord beast.
Nevertheless, Shane accepted it as it was because every single upgrade of his innate skill was extremely beneficial, thus he could grudgingly accept the increase in the difficulty level of the mission!
The new ability [Soul connection +] seemed to be similar, yet completely different to the [Shared mind] ability he had gained not long ago.
However, after the effect was activated, Shane noticed a huge difference compared to before. This was unexpected and he wondered how much both Umbra and Cosmo could sense the change because for him it was like he had entered an entirely new world.
Shane was able to see, smell, and hear everything his tamed beasts heard, which was extremely confusing, yet would also prove to be beneficial in many situations.
After finding out the advantages and disadvantages of the ability, Shane had to say that it was extremely great, and he couldn't help but smile.
'I can even deactivate it!' He noticed with a faint smile before another two notifications popped up.
[First requirement of host's hidden occupation has been solved, revelation of the 4th requirement initiated.]
[The first word of the hidden occupation's name has been unveiled. Congratulations!]
This was something he had expected, but Shane couldn't help but become nervous as he took a look at the hidden occupation's status panel.
[Descendant (?Name?) (==?==)]
1)Innate Skill [Taming] Uncommon ★★★ [Accomplished]
2)Soul bound world size in diameter→[1,600m/10,000 meters]
3)Possess three tamed beasts with a loyalty of 100% [1/3]
4) Perfect foundation→ Physique [2/3] Mana Purity [68%/100%]
Shane had already expected the fourth requirement to be harsh, but to think that it would demand him to have a perfect foundation right off the bat had been unexpected!
Shane couldn't help but gulp as he blurted out.
"Wow...what kind of perfectly planned bullshit is that? Does the system want to troll me now?"
It was not discouraging to see the fourth requirement because it meant that the hidden occupation had to be at the [Diamond] quality at the bare minimum. Had that not been the case, Shane would have decided to kill the administrator of the system!
Toying with Shane's heart was not easy, but the system made it possible, and it hurt every time he thought about it!
