Although the call with Alina was still in his mind, he tried to rid the thought for the moment. After messaging his sister Julia with plans to get together for dinner on the weekend, Ensen spent the rest of the night reviewing some work mixed in with a little relaxing.
The following morning, Ensen did his usual routine. Make some simple food for his students and drive most of them to school.
It was a relatively calm morning. Both Brian and Warren seemed rather tired from hanging out at Brian's home last night.
With Warren looking out the window, Ensen began teaching his math class. Although he was on autopilot with his mind elsewhere. Specifically, his mind was split between Warren and Alina.
'Okay, I need to take this step by step. I can't let myself be overwhelmed.' Ensen thought to himself as he knew he should focus on Warren, as he would have to talk to him today.
After sighing slightly, he realized that class had almost ended already.
Not knowing where the time went, Ensen quickly wrapped up his class just as Gerhardt opened the door to start his.
Beginning to walk towards the door, Ensen raised his voice so everybody could hear him and said "Warren, can I talk to you outside for a moment?"
As Warren began to get up, Leah and Stephen both laughed slightly as they thought he would be in trouble. The other students weren't much better, as nearly all of them did their best to stifle their laughter, except Flora who just looked around in confusion.
Leaning against the wall in the hallway, Ensen waited for a few seconds before Warren exited the classroom.
"What's the matter, principal?" Warren asked, slightly nervous.
"I was told you went to Brian's yesterday. Was it fun?" Ensen asked.
"Yeah, it was good," Warren said slowly, growing ever more nervous.
Looking at how nervous Warren seemed, Ensen decided to stop beating around the bush and said directly "You should have told me if you were going to his house. I am responsible for your safety while you're at school. If you just disappear then what am I supposed to think?"
Freezing for a few seconds to think about what Ensen had said, Warren soon realized that Ensen was right. "Yeah… you're right I should've told you." He said, slightly disappointed in himself that he forgot.
"You should've. Of course, that's only while I am driving you home. When there is a transportation service for our school, you can go wherever you'd like. But you still need to be safe." Ensen stated.
After pausing for a second to let Warren digest his speech, he let Warren return to the classroom to make sure he didn't miss the English class.
Once the class had ended, the break period had officially started. As such, Ensen and Leah both arrived at the music room together to start the first lesson.
As Ensen was setting up a few notes, he asked her "Do you still feel the piano trying to talk to you?"
"Yeah, I do. I wonder what's it's trying to say." Leah said before sinking deep into her thoughts.
After pulling out the notes, Ensen walked over to the piano and stood beside the bench.
"Come sit down, we'll begin the lesson now." He said calmly.
Once Leah slowly sat down onto the bench, she asked excitedly "So what are we gonna play? La Campanella?"
"Wow, slow down there Leah. You first need to get a good foundation before you can try harder songs, let alone La Campanella. We will work on your form today." Ensen said, trying to rid the thought out of her head as fast as he could.
Although she seemed slightly disappointed, she nodded slightly.
For the remainder of the break, Ensen did his utmost to help her with the very basic things.
"Sit a little farther back on the bench."
"Try to relax your shoulders."
"Straighten your back more."
Close to when the period would end, Anabella and Flora entered the classroom together. Although they were going to leave once they saw Leah and Ensen working, he told them they could stay.
They spent most of the time left for class just observing the two, seemingly curious about his teaching.
As more and more of the students had entered the room, Ensen looked at his phone and realized that class was just about to start.
After telling Leah that time was up for today, she slowly got up from the piano bench and stretched her hands.
Turning around and looking at her fellow students looking at her curiously, she felt a little awkward although it didn't bother her too much.
Quickly cleaning up after the lesson, he soon began his music class.
'I should go talk to Gerhardt after class today, I haven't checked on him in a while.' Ensen thought.
Ensen knew that Gerhardt's world was currently in a state of unrest, while he was concerned about potentially losing an English teacher if things got too bad, he was even more concerned about losing a friend. Although they weren't particularly too close, it didn't change things in his mind.
Most of the class seemed strangely inspired towards learning music this lesson. Although Leah was sitting in the back looking a bit tired, which was understandable. Trying to make the lesson slightly easier so she could properly follow alone, the time flew by as the class ended.
After sending the two siblings on their way home, Ensen walked towards the staff room, hoping that Gerhardt would be there grading papers. However, when Ensen got there, he realized that Gerhardt had already left for the day.
Deciding he would talk to him tomorrow, he headed to the car with the students.
After dropping everybody off and arriving at the apartment with Flora in the passenger seat, they both went to their own apartments.
"Hey system, you said that Flora met the minimum requirements for the Academy, but what is her grade exactly?" Ensen asked curiously.
[Why are you asking?] The system responded.
"I'm… not too sure. There's just something satisfying about finding talented students. I know I'll do my very best to help them learn, so who knows what they'll go on to do." Ensen said after a moment of contemplation.
[That's fair, I feel the same way. However, did you forget that Flora is returning to her world in just two months? You heard a bit from her about how complicated her world was. Aren't you nervous about letting her go back?] The system asked curiously.
"Of course I'm nervous, but I believe my student will do well. Besides, there isn't anything I could do even if I wanted to. She's Karina's apprentice after all, so I'll just do my best to make sure she can make it." Ensen said.
He was slightly dreading the day when he would have to send her back to her own world. Although he knew he would have to get used to it, there would be more otherworldly students after all, and they'll have to leave too eventually.
[I… I would help you, but I really can't right now. I just checked if her rank met the requirements. Examining her exact talent rank takes more resources then I can currently use.]
"You really are low in points, huh? What are you using the points for anyways?" Ensen asked curiously.
[Remember when I told you there was a system that was catching up to me quickly? I've been trying to find out how he's been doing so. But scanning the universe for his host is such a big expense.] The system wrote in resignation.
"Why don't you just ask your friends if they know where his host is?" Ensen asked logically.
[That would be a good idea… but I don't really have friends, just one. But the Supreme Sect Establishment System isn't in a good position to help me out right now. He's too occupied with keeping your friend safe. After all, she wasn't sent to a peaceful world. It's considerably more effortless for both hosts and systems when it's a peaceful planet.]
Nodding in agreement, Ensen prayed in his heart for Kaitlin's continuing safety.
"Well, what can I do to help you?" Ensen asked, hoping he would be of use.
[Just keep growing the Academy to become a bigger influence on the world stage and eventually, the universal stage. Let me deal with this guy, even though he's gaining on me I'm sure I can hold him off for a bit.] The system wrote confidently.
Looking at the message in front of him, Ensen pondered for a moment before saying gently "Be careful."
As Ensen sat on the couch in silence, he looked up towards the ceiling and simply just stared at it for nearly an hour.
'I need to keep advancing my missions. I just hope they won't take too long.' Ensen thought as he kept staring, hoping for the success of the system in finding the other host.
