"Too much had happened." Jyorta Bone sighed, shaking his head as he walked on the street, watching some of the Espers walking past shield the Warriors from the rain.
'In the end, Ancestor Light and Marble barely protected the city while Ancestor Strongest prevented any enemies from entering through the crack. As for the Skeps, they fought a massive war with Rhachis Ancestor Parasite and all the Frenzy Beast Ancestors surrounding Marble City. Eventually, they flooded this entire region and barely managed to escape into the depths of the ocean until no Ancestor was able to detect them.' Jyorta recalled.
He then sighed, 'When Ancestor Light brought in Ancestor Dawn and Reef, the Frenzy Beasts retreated as Rhachis Ancestor Parasite headed into the ocean in search of the Skeps. It seemed intent to kill the Skep King. Thankfully for that, we barely managed to evade an all-out war.'
Shuddering, Jyorta recalled the scene where the tidal waves from the ocean crashed into Marble City, almost drowning it. Even now, the land surrounding Marble City was at a depth of 50 metres below the ocean surface. And for some reason, the ocean water didn't recede.
This also made it harder to deal with the Swarm that was now able to hide within the water and attack the city walls from all sides. It made Ancestor Marble busy, slowing down the city's recovery.
'Thankfully, a war didn't erupt. With my puny strength…' His hands shivered as Jyorta tried to clench them, realising that his sense of fear and anxiety prevented him from gathering his strength. Even though the battle had been short, the scale was beyond what he could comprehend.
It was a clash between natural disasters one after another. 'The Skeps are too dangerous. Now that they have birthed a king, they'll eventually pose more threat than Frenzy Beasts. At least, the Frenzy Beasts are useful to us, since we can create Artifacts and Relics out of their corpses. They also form the base materials for many Unranked Skills and Traits. But as for the Swarm…'
Jyorta shook his head, realising very well that the enemy gave no benefit other than being a food source. He then sensed the pattering raindrops make tiny ripples on his psychic energy barrier, realising that he was running out of psychic energy.
He didn't have much, to begin with, considering the week of training in the military academy he underwent. One of the training processes consisted of the method to infuse his aura into the city walls at a moment of crisis.
It was what he had observed previously when Rhachis Ancestor Parasite had attacked Marble City. All the citizens had infused their aura into the city walls, strengthening it to the limit. That's how it was able to withstand a couple of Rhachis Ancestor Parasite's punches.
Jyorta stared ahead, noticing the Bone Family's mansion come into view. Standing opposite to it was another skyscraper; his home was located on its 28th floor. Arriving before the door, he took in a deep breath, 'It's been a year.'
Even though he formed many attachments in this world, this home was the firmest of them all, the reason he strived to retain his humanity. After all, there were numerous incidents where he would have gone crazy. Voluntarily, he had attached himself to the place. Otherwise, he dared not think about what he might be capable of.
Without any self-imposed restrictions, he was…scary.
When he rang the doorbell, there was a flurry of sounds from within. There was also a shrill crying sound, the voice unfamiliar, confusing him. Within a couple of seconds, the door opened as the chiselled face of a man appeared.
He looked at Jyorta, blinking in confusion. A second later, his eyes lit up, "Right, it was supposed to be today. Welcome home, Jyorta Bone."
"You are…?" Jyorta was confused, watching the chiselled-faced man prompt him to enter. As he stepped inside, Jyorta immediately noticed some minor changes to the place. There were extra things in some places, items that had recently been purchased in a hurry, apparent as they had been stuffed in any random place that could house them.
Jyorta didn't know what to make sense of the situation, frowning when he noticed the chiselled-faced man act like he was at home. But, he didn't say anything, for the moment hoping to understand the state of things first, unwilling to let out any misunderstood remarks.
The chiselled-faced man entered the master bedroom, the room that had been used by his parents before. Seated inside was Heima, smiling as she stared into a cradle, having not noticed his arrival.
"Heima, Jyorta returned." The chiselled-faced man said, causing Heima to look in surprise before beaming with a smile. For a moment, it seemed like she had entirely forgotten about the matter.
Jyorta was just about to wave his hand when Heima's figure flashed before him, enveloping him in a hug, whispering, "Welcome back!"
If he still failed to understand, then his IQ could very well be argued to be non-existent. Jyorta gazed at Heima in surprise, "Sister, when did you marry? And, how come you already have a child?"
"Haha, cute, aren't they?" Heima said, dragging Jyorta as she showed her kids, a pair of twins. At present, they were fast asleep, their expressions occasionally displaying anger, happiness, peacefulness, etc.
It was a sign that their brain was developing, articulating every emotion a functional human being ought to possess. Staring at them, Heima's expression softened as she lightly touched the cheek of one of them, fawning as she whispered, "They are less than 10 days old. I never understood the joys of being a mother. But now, I do."

Author Notes: Updates for this novel would only be 4 chapters per week. And, every chapter would only have 1000 words. This is because we have yet to achieve the goal I set before on my Patre0n. The goal is 400 USD, the amount I need to give daily updates for free, with each chapter ranging between 1700-1800 words like in the prequel. Support here:

Releases will increase accordingly to the increase in support on Patre0n.
