"Ahhh! Don't kill me!" Jyorta shouted in alarm as he got up, panting as he looked around, unable to understand just what was happening. He looked above him, flinching upon seeing ten Tier 3 River Whales calmly floating above, having condensed a river in the air.
Right as he was about to attack them in reflex, he controlled himself, remembering that he was the one commanding them. He rested his cheek on his palm, panting as he felt the slick sweat covering his body, only now noticing that his clothes were drenched.
"As expected, that was dangerous." He sighed, calming himself as he spent an hour strengthening and healing his mind. He had a tremendous quantity of memory fragments stored in his blue soul, so much so that it was bloated to the extent beyond what he could control.
That was why he was unable to use his soul abilities to the full extent. Most of the memory fragments were stored in a soul husk each, including all the murkiness accompanying them. So, Jyorta first worked on vaporising all the murkiness, finally done with the task when it was late into the night.
When he felt hungry, he simply used Regen to sustain himself. There was enough energy for him to do so. The ten Tier 3 River Whales and the innumerous Shoe Fishes attached to their ridiculously big bodies provided him with enough energy for all his needs.
So, once he finished vaporising all the murkiness, the bloated feeling in his blue soul subsided to a certain extent. After that, he worked on comprehending the memory fragments, wishing to make them his.
He first started with the Floating Spiders since their numbers were the highest among the memory fragments he had obtained. But, once he began to do so, Jyorta regretted it immediately.
The Floating Spiders seemed like they were a vicious Frenzy Beast race, having derived their vicious insect nature as they evolved. That wasn't all, they were cruel both to their friends and foes. But, once he began to comprehend their memories, Jyorta realised just how bad his preconceived notion was.
Rather, it seemed every race, whether Human or Frenzy Beast had been fooled by the Floating Spiders all along. Sure, the Floating Spiders were vicious, incredibly so. But, that didn't mean they were monsters unfeeling of emotions.
Rather, they were capable of feeling all sorts of emotions, and to a depth grandly surpassing human emotions. They had evolved to obtain a duality to their nature. One was the exterior self and the other was the interior self.
The exterior self was bereft of emotions, cruelly doing the designated tasks most efficiently, no matter how cruel. Whereas, the interior self was emotional, very much so that they were capable of appreciating even the faintest breeze, able to feel the joy at the slightest of things.
Friendship, camaraderie, love, hate, giddiness, etc. every emotion a human can experience, they were able to experience it too. And, as for emotions that humans didn't have, they were capable of experiencing it too. And, even for the most basic of human emotions, the Floating Spiders were able to feel it deeper than humans.
But no matter what, when they took an action, even if it were the smallest of things like sleeping, only their exterior self was at play. As for their interior self, they never influenced their thoughts or actions, none whatsoever.
And, this duality caused the Floating Spiders to develop interesting intelligence and thought processes. Because they were able to feel every single emotion and knew the value of everything, their emotionless external nature was capable of abusing them to the greatest means to complete their task.
Moreover, this duality also caused their minds to be tremendously strong. That was the reason they lost control at a rate that was the lowest in the world, including both humans and Frenzy Beasts. This was also another reason they were touted to be the strongest Frenzy Beast race in the world and had produced three Ancestors.
Actually, if not for Jyovic Bone, they would have had four Ancestors now, and were also the race with the fastest growth. After all, it was amazing growth since during the Silicon Era, they were just insects living a primal way of life. As for humans, they had a long-standing history, development of life, culture, intelligence, and knowledge accumulation.
Only after obtaining a Frenzy Parasite and reaching Tier 3 did the first generation of spiders obtain intelligence on par with humans. And after that, Rhachis Ancestor Web, a Tier 3 Frenzy Beast back then sought to unite all the spiders of the world in one place to accumulate their diversity of gene pool.
Thereby, the Floating Spiders race came to be born. And the prime aspect of their growth and success was this duality in them. But, once Jyorta began to experience their memories, he was unable to endure them.
After all, the depth of emotions he felt was beyond what he could handle. And at the same time, the Floating Spiders were doing vicious stuff to the prey they had captured. His mind didn't have the duality of nature like the Floating Spiders, so the emotional fluctuations tore at his mind, causing him to turn mad.
Had the blue soul not pulled him out on time, his mind would have been destroyed. Beyond that, he as an individual would cease to exist. And, whether his plethora of memories—that form his figure as the core of the blue soul—would birth his self, his mind again was questionable.
It might be possible, but at the same time, it wouldn't be the same as now. After all, the only memories contained in it were those of his past life and the core of the previous Jyorta. The emotional growth he had perceived in the past year and the filling up of his 'hollowness' would vanish, causing all his accumulations in the recent time in the mental department to go to waste.
He would have to begin from scratch once again and develop himself. It was way too risky.
"But, this is the only way for me to begin the Tower of God project. Only with that would I be able to research and develop all the four paths to become stronger." Sighing, Jyorta took out the goggles that had the Tier 4 Relics of Deific Inference and Light Symphony fused into it. As for the body, it was a Tier 6 Artifact, made from Marble Sonata personally by Ancestor Marble.
Jyorta's psychic arm grabbed hold of it, feeding it psychic energy as it cast a beam of light onto him, erecting a projection behind him.. And unlike the projections from before, there was a wide crack running through the centre now, almost splitting the projection in half.
