"..."
Dehian asked but Teren didn't answer.
"You can't tell me?"
"I'm going to be selfish, I won't tell the reason."
He said with guilty eyes. Hearing this, Dehian didn't pursue it, she didn't want to hear it in the first place.
"Fine, then, do what you want. But know this..."
Dehian stared in front of her, not meeting Teren's eyes.
"Even after the Professor's death, I would still not be able to move on. My hatred just increases. Therefore, if you die, you would know what would happen to me."
There was a variety of emotions swirling within Teren at that moment. What stands out among the emotions was bittersweet.
"I told you, you just made things complicated. We could've been in a mortal battle right now if not for what you did. Furthermore, what did you see in Iesa, anyway? That girl is cold and sad, there's nothing likable about her."
Teren lowered his head for a moment before glancing at Dehian.
"She reminded me of you back then at first."
"That's unsurprising. I thought of you as a little brother before but now, we dated, you took my first, and made my body crave for it. It feels immoral. The only fortunate thing is that you grew up. I can only see the semblance of your child-self. However, it seemed that your mentality became immature now."
"Maybe, it's because I can feel again."
"Maybe..."
"..."
The two have a lot of things to catch up on. However, they feel like if they start a topic, they will not stop. Not that these thoughts stopped them for long.
"So, when you let me hear your thoughts back then. It's true, right?"
"Is this Iesa talking?"
Teren looked at 'Dehian'
"Sort of..?"
Iesa awkwardly smiled, not knowing how to act right. Seeing her smile, Teren smiled back. Afterward, she leaned onto him with her arms strapped around his.
"I missed you so much..."
She muttered.
"I missed you too."
"Why are you not holding me?"
Iesa pouted as she complained.
"Can I?"
"Of course, you can."
She then snuggled closer while Teren was hesitant at first before embracing her as well. Afterward, he heard her low voice.
"Do you notice? Love is winning. No matter what she says, the dead is dead. It's only a matter of time."
"How much time are we talking?"
"She's stubborn so I don't know. But good thing she finally relented and came here. If not, I wouldn't be able to come out like this."
"Iesa, can you stop acting please?"
Teren asked as he pulled Iesa away. He could see her shocked face when he did so.
"I love you when you love me. I love you even when you hate me."
"But... these feelings, they're oil and water. I cannot tolerate having to hate you. Please, I need her. She needs me too so let me act like this for a while."
"I see, sorry for being too demanding."
Iesa just chuckled after being so serious.
"It's fine. I got too happy when I finally got to hear those words from your mouth. You don't know how relieved I was when I heard your thoughts back then but this hits different."
"I'm glad to hear that."
"And you know, I was too horny last night, I thought I was going to die. I thought when I come here, I would pounce on you but I'm satisfied with this already."
"So you will take your money now?"
"No, this is still business. If I take that back now, she will probably pop out."
"I didn't remember Dehian being so stubborn and prideful."
"She met someone who can rival her."
Teren frowned, thinking who it was. He then looked at Iesa which she pointed at herself.
"Ah, I understand."
He didn't know if he should smile or frown, letting him make an awkward expression.
"It's fine. She already hates you for whatever you do and I will love you for whatever you do so what's holding you?"
"I really made things complicated, huh."
"Yeah, thank you for making it complicated."
The two talked for a long while. Only when the sun sank and dusk approached did 'Dehian' appear.
"I think that should be enough. Bye, I hope there will never be another chance like this again."
She stood up and walked out of the house as if she's in a hurry. Teren did nothing to stop her. That was the best thing he could do. In front of Dehian, he could only stay passive.
Sometime later after Dehian left, Teren sighed and laid back on the couch.
"I want to go to school tomorrow."
He muttered. A tragedy just happened and there was a big shift happening within the city. Schools temporarily shut down their facilities to give time for their students to with their parents because even teachers are skeptical if they should stay in the city or not.
No matter how much the SSDA covers, the destroyed houses could be seen by the public. Although they did a good job, restraining the spread of the information, it will inevitably be known to many.
Overnight, numerous families died while sleeping while many were injured and structures were destroyed by some unknown cause. Many residents were afraid, thinking that it could happen anytime again.
However, even if he's aware of this, Teren wanted to have classes tomorrow. Because that would be the only time he would see Iesa again.
"Shame, I have an appointment tomorrow."
He stopped himself from contacting Uncle Jo to meet the mayor and implement a new school policy in adjustment to the events. The process would be tedious and the backlash would be real but tomorrow, there will be classes. The Heren City Hall didn't know they just evaded trouble.
Teren continued on with his normal routine before sleeping. The night passed and another day came.
At the same time Teren walked out of the house, he saw a car parked at the front.
