Once Teren said those words, it was obvious that everyone got confused.
But one thing is sure, Teren shouldn't be lying, right? Eron thought. The reason was that the level of deception is too low. If Teren was going to lie, he should've gone for something more believable.
Or... is this just a mind game?
"Wait, what's happening? Why did they all turn silent?"
Trisha asked as she leaned forward to Teren.
"I'm just saying that they have the wrong guy."
"... huh? So they're not supposed to be chasing and trying to kill you!? Then why didn't you say that earlier?"
Trisha tilted her head.
"If I could, I would've. They're trying to kill me every second they have. They're too warry of me. The only time I have space is when I'm hiding."
Teren explained.
"Oh, if you're hiding then speaking will reveal you're location. I understand that but... can't you just talk while running?"
"It's too noisy for that. Also, I don't think they will stop to think about what I just said. They're too angry. That's why I texted you for help. With you here, they stopped to think."
Teren didn't restrain his voice. He was loud and clear as he explained it to others at the same time.
"What do you mean we have the wrong guy?"
First, who was suspicious of something in the first place, asked after she woke up from momentarily fainting.
"He's stalling."
At that very moment, Ivan stepped out of invisibility. From the looks of it, it seemed that he just arrived at the perfect moment.
"Eron, what are you stopping for. You think offending the Feralle Family is not worth it when we kill the one who kills Oldren?"
Ivan stared at Eron, reprimanding him.
"... but, it's not the Feralle Family I'm worried about. It's Messi."
"Tsk, you should know that Teren went to meet Messi but that guy did nothing. What will he do now? He's just a frequent customer, there's nothing that ties between him and the Feralles! Elites! Take Loar away and then block the exits! I and Eron will take care of these two!"
Ivan immediately ordered. Since he's the figurehead without Oldren, even if Eron says otherwise, they will have to listen to him. Therefore, Eron wasn't able to do anything. No, does he need to do anything in the first place?
It's not like he's going to believe Teren. He was just worried about Trisha.
"Ah, yeah, you're right. They're not going to listen to either way. I'm irritated by the fact that I'm useless."
Trisha complained while her expression turned serious. She looked at Ivan as if he's the final boss together with Eron. But a moment later, Teren whispered to her, taking her by surprise.
Meanwhile, Ivan didn't give them any time to talk and opened his mouth to blast the blinding beam from his throat once again.
"Let's run first!"
Trisha pulled Teren away when she felt the beam easily piercing her protective barrier.
"Again!"
"I want the one to ki-"
Trisha wanted to suggest but there was not enough time as Eron appeared in front of them with the flame about to come out of his mouth. Trisha kicked too which made the soles of their feet collide.
While Teren felt his bones just broke, Trisha was given a boost to run away.
"Damn it, Trisha...!"
Teren complained not about the pain but the fact that he wouldn't be able to run properly, slowing him down.
Of course, Ivan and Eron wouldn't chase Trisha. Since the two of them separated, this was the perfect opportunity not to harm her, only Teren.
Ivan breathed his beam again which hit Teren's left arm. He stumbled forward with a great frown on his face. However, he pushed himself up and continued to run. He just focused on healing his leg.
"That's the Great Spirit of Healing for you!"
Ivan remarked while he and Eron chased, not knowing that Teren was bluffing. The three of them were traveling at a speed that only cars could reach.
"I thought he's no longer as strong as before? What's this!?"
Eron loudly asked as the loud wind obstructs their voices.
"I have no idea but it's not like he'll have infinite energy!"
"We are too, Ivan! I'm almost out of fuel! We are unlike First who doesn't need inner energy!"
"We'll see who exhausts their energy first!"
Ivan said before blasting another fire beam which slowed Teren down. Meanwhile, the latter was immensely huffing.
"Why is she always late!?"
"I heard that! Sorry!"
At that exact moment, Trisha caught up with her juggernaut mode where everything that she passes through was pushed away. She was unstoppable.
"Is the girl who attracts Spirits!?"
Ivan asked in amazement which Eron nodded.
"Why the hell is she helping Teren!?"
Ivan complained before unhesitatingly blasting another beam towards Trisha. She seemed like an easier target.
However, unexpectedly, Trisha was as agile as Teren... no, more agile, letting her reach them without getting hit by Ivan's long-range attack. Eron no longer cared if he'll kill Trisha as he breathed his fiery breath, scorching the very air.
But compared to Ivan's or First's fire, it lacked the firepower as it was spread out. Trisha just endured the heat and tackled the two.
"Argh!"
Eron was sent flying off while Ivan was able to dodge. However, the ghoulish energy that surrounds Trisha was damaging as well. It wasn't like their scorching fire or a corroding poison, the energy sphere that surrounds her was compact and sturdy!
It was like a sphere made out of concrete!
Teren turned back and saw Trisha successfully hitting the two of them.
"Great job, should I punish her later for a reward? So confusing..."
As he muttered this, he got closer to the first mansion. He saw that people were still evacuating while some were taking out the fire.
It would be better if he could just stay unnoticed but with so many people, that would be impossible. After all, he was the only one who doesn't have any fireproof clothing.... also, Trisha.
