"If that's true... no, definitely not..." Teren muttered and as if burying the topic, he continued, "Anyway, that's all, you can leave now."
"Wait, before we leave. There's something I'm curious about."
"What?"
"About the Lunari House that followed you... no, if you're an insider from the start, why did you ask me about what's Solari's planning? Shouldn't you... know about it more than I do?"
"Ah, I guess I contradicted myself a bit back there. I already know of it but what I know might be outdated since it's been two years or something since I learned of that. That's why I asked."
"... oh, okay, I get it. That makes perfect sense. So that's why you disappeared back then and others were unable to hunt you..." Eron frowned and pieced something together before finally saying goodby one last time and leaving.
Teren then looked at Nick and the others.
"Well then... I actually want us to create a group chat. I've learned how to do it during school." Teren then excitedly took out his phone, instantly destroying the heavy mood he just created.
"You know the application where you can chat with each other as long as you're online? There, we can have a group chat where multiple people can leave messages for the others to see. Isn't it convenient? We can have a discussion there."
Although Ternen still wore a small calm smile, the tone of his voice reveals that he's quite enthused about it.
The six were greatly taken aback. Where did the Devil Himself go?
"Hm? Why are you not taking out your phones?"
Oh there he is... everyone immediately took their phone out except for a few people.
"Uhm, I have the old model and doesn't have that application." Old Derman said.
"Sorry, Boss Hark but I don't usually use my phone so I always leave it at the house." Uncle Jo followed.
Lastly, Nick timidly raised his phone that has an obvious crack on the screen.
"I... uhh... broke it when... I fell earlier..."
It seemed like he was on the verge of crying.
His brother, Nathan smacked him and said.
"Don't cry over that, idiot! Here, you can use my phone first then give it to me so I can just change an account."
"S-sorry..."
"Damn, when did you become such a pussy?" Nathan scratched his head but soon, silence pervaded the air. They all looked at Teren's face and they all thought one thing.
Wah... he looks so disappointed.
Soon, Teren snapped out of it and continued.
"That shouldn't be a problem. Old man, not only do you have a job but you're also a gang leader, buying a new phone shouldn't be expensive for you."
"Y-yes... I'm thinking I should buy one too."
Old Derman easily submitted.
"Jo, I'll break twenty of your bones if you don't bring your phone next time."
"O-okay, Boss Hark!"
Uncle Jo, who is usually tough and stern had his legs trembling from Teren's figure of speech.
"And Nick..."
Nick heard his name being called and stammered.
"Y-y-y-y-y-y-yes?"
... too much.
"You... have to get yourself together. Tomorrow, after school, let's go out and do some Spirit-hunting. Getting one should give you some backbone."
Not only Nick but everyone thought they heard it wrong.
Spirit-hunting? What does he mean by that?
If what they think of it is correct, does Teren mean that they will get Nick his own Spirit? But... how is that possible?
Spirit is something that latches on people on their own. It's not something others control. Getting haunted by a Spirit is only by chance or a lifetime 'opportunity' Why did Terne say it as if they were just going to play Pok*mon Go?
But since Teren is not exactly someone that can be understood by common sense, they restraint themselves from asking. Although that doesn't mean they are not curious.
"Hanon," Teren then called, disregarding the fact that Hanon's his teacher. But the latter didn't feel against it. In fact, he's aware that if Teren called him 'Sir Hanon' it would feel wrong and weird.
"Can you bring Clade, that of snitching son of a bitch to me?"
Teren smiled but everyone knows... someone's in deep trouble.
Hanon, on the other hand, almost lost his composure. It's because Clade is not the only one who reported Teren to the SSDA, him too!
'I have to silence Clade at all cost!'
"When w-would you want to meet him?"
"Bring him on Saturday."
Old Derman had his eyes widened as he looked at Hanon. He's quite guilty and ashamed not doing anything for Clade, one of his loyal Generals but... it's not like he can do anything in the first place.
"Sure..." Hanon almost lost his vitality from that simple exchange.
Teren then clasped his hand and slightly smiled again.
"Since we will be one group who will - raze the five houses and the SSDA to the ground in the future -."
The other six thought that they heard a devilish voice from Teren instead of his normal voice in the later half of what he said. But they were petrified to raise that question.
"I think lame names like Handwing Gang and Spectre Gang is a bit unbefitting to call our group, right?"
Teren casually roasted the two gangs.
"I'm thinking of what to change it. But I still don't have anything. On Saturday, I hope we will officially form this group. That's all, you can all go home."
Teren stretched his arms upward. His one hand still holding the knife. It shone as it reflected the setting sun while he walked towards the warehouse to get his bag. Looking at his carefree back, the six didn't know what to say.
Uncle Jo was the first to break the silence.
"Boss Hark seemed more motivated than before."
"Yeah, I thought his mood was sour when he met those people with the minigun. I guess after that, he eased up." Dennis replied.
"What... do you think will happen to us?"
Everyone looked at Hanon who asked the question. No one can answer it.
Strangely enough, they no longer felt animosity between each other even though they are just at each other's throats earlier. Now, they are just a group of people who share the same fate.
Fate which a certain devil controls.
