Chapter 94 - Worst Future

Name:Psycho X Psychic Author:
Iesa went back to the room rather limply.

'Why is he not refusing earlier? Is it because he's really interested?'

She felt the world was crumbling away.

'Ahh... should've just pushed her a little stronger.'

Iesa then arrived at the classroom. On the surface, she was composed as she went towards her seat. She didn't look at her certain seatmate as she felt she would cry if she did.

But of course, that didn't last long as the temptation was great. Her eyes were supposed to take a brief glance, but their eyes met...

...

...

"Bos- Teren!"

"Ah!" Teren almost jumped from his seat when Nick approached him.

Iesa took her eyes off him too rather bashfully. Somehow, her mood became better.

"Did I... Did I interrupt something?"

Nick scratched his head as he whispered.

"N-nothing..."

Teren looked away, scared of showing his heating face. He stayed earlier to hear why Iesa was there and what happened there made his heart skipped a beat.

'I-is she jealous!?'

He excitedly thought.

'But how? I made her forgot about me! Wait-wait-wait! I only used the Mind-Altering Spirit. I don't have the Heart-Altering... does that mean even though she doesn't remember me, she... s-she still...'

"Teren...?"

Nick thought that it was an inappropriate moment. Meanwhile, Iesa focused on Nick's thoughts. There was no other choice, she couldn't hear Teren even if she put all of her might.

'I want to tell him about my Spirit but I guess I can't tell it to him here... I want to ask a lot of questions too, it seemed I still need to wait.'

Nick felt a little stronger than before. Not just because of his newly acquired Spirit but somehow, approaching Teren became easier which seemed to be harder than climbing a mountain before for him.

Before the teacher arrived, the group of girls came in, subtly hiding Eline's face from the others. However, there are still many who noticed this, thinking to themselves-

'Something made Eline cry?'

Maybe she broke with her boyfriend or something like that? They thought.

Meanwhile, the cause of this, Iesa was concerned about another thing and didn't spare a glance. She could tell that something good happened to Nick and it's about having a Spirit which quite honestly shocked her.

Teacher Hanon finally came in and felt that there was something heavy in the class. Therefore, he tried to light it up.

"Monthly exams just finished, how about we play a game!?"

With just one sentence, the students' eyes lit up.

"But before that, roll call!"

Hanon's cheerful voice livened up the mood as the students anticipated what they would play today.

He called his students one by one until there was one student everyone was surprised not to be there.

"Lina?"

Hanon peeked out from his record sheet and saw that in front of Teren, the seat was empty.

"Odd..." he scratched his chin. Lina was like a model student, no questions asked. For her to be absent without giving an excuse beforehand is pretty worrying. The class could only think of one reason why Lina was absent - an emergency.

Somehow, it feels kind of lonely without her but it's only for one day, right?

After the roll call, Hanon made the class play. Of course, he chose the students who wants to play as forcing someone would just ruin the mood. The others watched and the class soon became cheerful again.

Eline looked at Hanon with a slight blush.

When the first subject was about to end, Hanon looked over the class and looked at the future of some key students. Although he wouldn't see the past, he will see the future. If there's a cause, there's an effect. He could get a lot of information by looking at the future.

Visions came to him one by one while some students were still playing at the front and the class was laughing.

His vision is quite convenient. It knows beforehand what he wanted to see and knows if Hanon was to be brought to the future.

The students he looked at first is the center of the heavy atmosphere earlier, Eline and her friends.

...

There were a lot of trees and hills under the night sky.

'Wait, this future shouldn't be that far.'

In an open area amidst the woods, there was a bonfire and tents set up.

'Oh, are they planning to camp out? I know I'm prying too much but I wonder who's she's with?'

Besides the tents, he saw a familiar teenager who shouldn't be there at all cost. Actually, his fear was already there happening in the vision.

Teren stood in front of Eline and her friends. On one hand, he held Josh's head, still attached, but soon it would be the opposite. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't escape Teren's grasp. As if a show, Teren slowly sliced his neck to his traumatized friends...

...

...

"... non...?"

"Sir... non?"

"Sir Hanon?"

Hearing someone call out his name, Hanon snapped out of his vision. He looked around and saw that students were looking at him with worried and estranged eyes. He held his chest and felt his heart pounding.

He felt sick.

Even for him, that was too much.

"A-are you okay?"

A student who just finished their game asked. Thinking that he shouldn't worry others, he forced a smile.

"Yeah... your teacher's getting old, I think I broke my back just laughing." he acted and laughed, inciting laughter from the class too.

"Come on, Sir, Sir Jerad is already here. Let us help you."

"What good students, I think I'm going to increase someone's character score today."

"Oh! I want to help too!"

"Me too!"

Hanon forced a laugh and shoo them away, "So many of you, are you trying to carry me!?"

He then let the students who supported him sit down as well as he straightened himself. Before he left, he looked and called Eline.

"Eline"

Eline almost jumped out of her chair before showing a gentle smile as she played with her hair.

"Y-yes, Sir Hanon?"

"You and Teren, come into my desk in the faculty later."

Hearing Teren's name made Eline's embarrassed expression stiffen. This change didn't escape Hanon's observation.

'I did it... I called him out... is this okay?' he nervously thought as he got out.. He left the class confused except for a select few.
