Cheng was the first one to lead the way towards the edge of the settlement as Gao had earlier pointed at the direction of where both Godzillas had been tearing at each other after The Bug-Eyed Monster had snatched one unsuspecting baby from the cradle in one of the houses.

After bashing through the thick vegetation we had reached about 20 meters from where the Guardian Spirit and the Bug-Eyed Monster were battling. The Bug-Eyed Monster was, in fact, an enormous cricket like the beast that somehow was mutated and lost its way during the Month of Demon in one of the chapters of Release that Witch. Oops... Wrong story.
In fact, the Bug-Eyed Monster was a crazy creation from Jim Henson's Sesame Street Production.
Director! There's something wrong with this script!
Once and for all, the Bug-Eyed Monster was not part of the Youkai group from Inuyasha nor from other anime movies or part series but were created mainly for this serial novel. It had a pair of sickle arms, two short wings at its back and had 4 stick like legs; 2 hind legs were used to stand and support its humongous body.
The body was armored from its head and its whole body and there was only a small space that was not armored; which was at its rear end.
The Bug-Eyed Monster was gripping its sickle-like arms around the Guardian Spirit while its other 2 stick like legs were furiously kicking the body of the Guardian Spirit. The former was roaring in pain or rage as it was trying its futile attempt to rid itself from the clutches of the Bug-Eyed Monster.
"Swoosh... Swoosh... Swoosh...!" the bone spears that the three brothers held were flung straight and it flew into the air simultaneously at the direction of the Bug-Eyed Monster!
"Klang... Thud... Klang...!" the bone spears sounded against the heavily armored and was greatly deflected and fell to the ground. The brothers watched in bewilderment as the spears did not even leave a mark on the armor!
"Swoosh... Swoosh... Swoosh...!!" a flurry of arrows with flame tips were aimed and released into the air at the direction of the Bug-Eyed Monster by the archers that had followed the three brothers from behind. Another quick succession of arrow attacks began after it was released from the bows.
However, it left little or no impact at all on the Bug-Eyed Monster.
"Damn it! How are you gonna kill it!" shouted one of the Archers.
"Quick! Someone find the baby first...!" I shouted above the din as I heard the wail of a crying baby nearby within the thick bushes. Ding and Eun scrambled with one of the archers and looked for the baby.
Guardian Spirit was roaring as it tries to escape the deadly clutches of the Bug-Eyed Monster as it used its sickle-like arms to continuously stab the back of it. The former uses its wolf head to struck the Bug-Eyed Monster repeatedly and it seemed to work.
The baby was found! It was wrapped up in a bundle and does not seem hurt. Ding cradled the baby gently in his arms and then ran off back to the village.
"What shall we do now?!" as one of the archers got ready a kind of whirling rope with each end weighted with a stone. This piece of equipment was good to snare running animals where a hunter would twirl the rope which was tied in the middle with another rope and ends with weighted stones.
When unravel it would look like a "+" and when one of the rope manages to catch on a running animal, the rest of the weighted ends would wound itself around the legs.
However, it was worth a try. It's better than nothing at all.
So the three archers went close to the Bug-Eyed Monsters and started to twirl the ropes in the air. Suddenly the Bug-Eyed Monster turned around and eyed the archers while shrieking loudly. Green spittle came out from its mouth and splattered down like rain on the archers.
They took little notice and let the ropes fly and aimed at the legs of the Bug-Eyed Monster. After that, they ran for cover and reached for the arrows in their side worn quivers, burned the tips and let the arrows fly again. This time it was aimed at the rear end of the Bug-Eyed Monster.
As the position of the Bug-Eyed Monster was upright, the rear end was exposed slightly and this proved to be advantageous. The earlier ropes that were flung at the legs of the Bug-Eyed Monster had entwined the legs and somehow restricted the movement.
Seeing that the Bug-Eyed Monster was at an improper standing position, Guardian Spirit suddenly made a sudden force forward and made the Bug-Eyed Monster to lose its balance and fall to the ground!
"Boom...!!!" loud thunderous earth-shaking sound vibrated in the forest. "It's now or never...!!!" I screamed aloud in my mind as I ran towards the fallen Bug-Eyed Monster; struggling its might to stand up using its other legs and arms.
Seeing the Bug-Eyed Monster on the ground and eyeing me running towards it, Guardian Spirit then lifted one of its hind paws and stomped on the head of the former; restricting its movement further.
I unsheathed the keris and held in a stabbing position; the blade facing sideways. All of a sudden, I felt the keris had suddenly it transformed its length to about 4 feet. it has manifested itself into a short sword with a wavy blade! I plunged the keris deep into the Bug-Eyed Monster's rear end with my left hand on the top of the hilt and using my momentum I ran with the blade; piercing its armor like butter with a hot knife. The Keris and I ran up from its end, right to the whole of its back and ended up at the neck of the Bug-Eyed Monster.
Greenish hot sticky liquid began to spray outwards from the elongated opening that I had made with the Keris. Guardian Spirit moved its hind paw away from the head; glanced at me once and seemed to nod its head in appreciation before heading it's away from the battle zone.
I ran off from the side away from the convalescent body of the Bug-Eyed Monster.
The Bug-Eyed Monster trashed it's a body around and shrieking at the same time. Its sickle arms were flailing in the air while its legs were kicking at the bushes; throwing bits and pieces of dirt and branches into the air.
After some time the shrieking stopped and the spasms subsided.
I then looked at my green slime covered arms and keris. The Keris which transformed into a short sword with wavy blade earlier had retained its original position. After I had to remove it from the sheath, the keris was thumping its 'heartbeat' in my right hand and also the glow and thumping were beating rhythmically. Little did I notice its difference in indescribable words and meaning right after it had fused with me during the upgrade to Gathering Chi.
Thumps on my shoulder afterwards came from the brothers and the archers around me as I walked back to the settlement.
"Guess we can't have that Bug-Eyed Monster later for our feast," I muttered to Cheng as I felt that my every ounce of energy was depleted after that single attack on the monster. Cheng looked at me then laughed his head off when I mentioned about having the Bug-Eyed Monster as food.....
" Thank you very much, Bo. Without your assistance, we may have not defeated the Bug-Eyed Monster. Our village is truly indebted to you." praised Gao as he bowed towards us.
Taking no credit from it I spoke while saying, "This victory does not belong to me alone. Without the help of the three Archers and the brothers, victory would not be at our hands. Ding had come to the rescue of the baby, thus no lives were threatened at this moment. Credit should be for Ding and the three archers."
I explained how the archers helped to snare the Bug-Eyed Monster to the ground and how the Guardian Spirit managed to hold back the former with its hind paw on its head. Thus making the job to finish off the beast, like a walk in the park.
Gao and several villagers bowed deeply at us and congratulated the success. A village cleanup ensued and peace was restored within a span of an hour. The damaged houses were repaired with lightning speed and preparations for the victory feast soon followed afterward as dusk began to envelop the surroundings....
