"Pervert..." I finished the sentence before Kagome had managed to finish her's while she slowly lowered her arm down. I was closing my eyes tight as I expected a slap to descend on my face but instead, she poked her finger at my forehead.

"Toing... Toing... Toing..." well, I supposed how it would have sounded in the anime world or rather "Thud... Thud... This..." if its in the real world. Nevertheless, let's decide on the former sounds as Kagome stabbed her right forefinger on my forehead while standing bent with her left hands on her hips; at the same time pouting her lips...

"I didn't say that OK, but you were the one who finished up my unfinished sentence. And you didn't reply anything that I had asked you before..." she stood up straight with both arms across her ample breasts, making it jut out a bit more with that kind of posture.

"No, don't be mad OK. I swear I didn't see anything except for a flash of white that was blinding my eyes and make me squint. Really I didn't see anything... How would I and how could I have seen anything if I had kept my eyes closed during that time." I smirked at her and stood up, brushing off invisible dirt off my butt. I carried my satchel bag and walked off in front of her. I stopped a few steps ahead and looked back and found that she was walking slowly and looking down at her feet as if she was counting her steps as she walked.

She ended up beside me and I held out my right hand to her. "Eh...? What is this for?" she blushingly asked me. "Just hold my hands in case either one would trip and fall just like earlier. At least if you trip I could still save you. Likewise for me too. Who knows the Director may have planted a pebble right at my foot so that I lose my balance and made me bang into you unintentionally." I explained while still extending my hand to her.

She sheepishly took my hand in hers and walked back. Her grip was subtle like as if she was just using her fingers to hold my hand. No entwining of fingers, no fully contact with both palms... Just a light feeling of her fingers within me that's all.

I changed the subject and asked her about what she gonna shop at the convenience store afterwards. We walked over to Fukutoku Food Akiba Store and entered the butcher shop. After picking a few packets of different cuts of meat, we paid at the counter and headed to another store.

Next, we walked over to a Yakiniku Restaurant named Gyuan and bought three packets of Ramen with separate gravy. One for the each of us so we could reheat them in the microwave to consume later for dinner.

Next, we sauntered over to "Maxvalu Shimizu Yasaka Shop" where it was a rather large single storey supermarket. I was wondering why we were walking in circles instead of heading to this place first, then to the meat shop and then to the Yakiniku Restaurant. Maybe this is how the Director wants us to walk in order to waste time and accumulate word count as well as spend more time bonding with the Kenzo character with Kagome. Hehehe.

Upon reaching the Maxvalu Shimizu Yasaka Shop we surrendered our purchase made earlier to the baggage counter along with our satchels and I proceeded to take a wheeled trolley with me. We picked out the items from the list that Kagome's mother had prepared and I can't help to view all the niceties that they store held especially befitting for a schoolgirl like Kagome. I pushed the trolley into the novelty items section and found that Kagome began to hold certain items in her hand and placing it back on the shelves.

In psychological terms, she had a desire to own the items that she held for more than 10seconds and inspecting the price, quality and such before returning it back to the shelf. "Why don't you pick the ones that you like?" I said while I was looking at the item that she had hold initially. "I don't want you to treat me like an" Osanai Musume" or "little girl". "she shyly replied before she turned red like a beet.

"Obviously she wanted to be treated like a small girl after all." I thought to myself and smiled at her at the same time making a rather comical face. She laughed at me and turned her face to hide her embarrassment. It was like this, between the two of us, poking fun and strolling in the departmental store, oblivious with the shoppers around like as if we owned the place and there are only two persons in the whole store.

We paid up eventually for all the remaining groceries and retrieve our earlier purchased goods and our satchel bag. Since my bag had a long strap attached, I slip the strap across my forehead and carried most of the heavy grocery bags while Kagome carried those lighter ones which were the 3 packets of Ramen and the mixed meat cuts from the butcher.

We made our way slowly walking back as we passed our schoolyard and towards "House no.8, 1-Chome-5-Ote, Shimizu Ku" where she lived as the landlord while me being the tenant. We reached our home around 15mins time as passerby greeted Kagome along the way as she recognized them as the tenants that were staying at house no. 8.

We entered the main entrance and greeted "Tadaima!" which literally means I am home. "Okaeri!" a cheerful lady's voice replied inside the kitchen welcoming us home. Upon entering the house I first noticed that we entered through the side of the house. There were stairs leading to the second level and 2 partitions separating a common living room, then two bedrooms, a dining room and then the kitchen. These 2 partitions have movable sides so it can be closed off to prevent guests or tenants from coming through.

We exchanged our shoes with slippers that were neatly arranged outside while putting our school shoes on the shoe rack just at the front entrance. A large retractable shade was overhead and it would be opened automatically, thanks to its electronic sensor in case of rain so the shoes outside would not be wet.

I noticed that there was a label on every slot of the shoe rack indicating whose shoes should belong to which slot. So this means that no more than 2 pair of shoes should be placed outside while our slippers had our names embroidered on them. How cute... Japanese hospitality at its max!

We brought all the groceries past the bedroom entrance which was also separated with a sliding partition and walked past the dining hall with four dainty stools on a collapsible table attached to the wall. Minimalistic living!

I entered the kitchen and it was large compared to the dining hall. There were two sinks, one for washing and another for rinsing. There were overhanging cabinets on top of the sink to keep a kind of condiments and such. A majestic 4 door silver-coloured Samsung smart refrigerator stood at the end of the sink counter. There was a glass countertop with 3 burners and a hotplate burner branded Aiko.

Kagome's mother was busying herself in the centre of the kitchen where a conventional oven and a microwave oven sat at both ends of the island countertop. There are quite a number of assorted shiny stainless steel pots and pans, ladles and scoops hanging directly above the island countertop.

In the centre of the island's countertop was the main working area to prepare dishes and other whatnot.

"Kenzo-chan, please help Auntie to put all the groceries in the middle here and Kagome... Please prop up the gravy into one big bowl and set the table for three for dinner yes, my dear daughter?" I nodded my head and placed the bags of groceries on the island countertop and watched Kagome moved deftly around the kitchen to place the noodles with all its separate ingredients such as slices of fishcake, pieces of crayfish, the quail eggs and another garnishing that had been earlier boiled into three bowls and placed the gravy into a large bowl before placing it in the microwave.

She turned the heat up and set the timer for three minutes. This enables the gravy to be heated as like the conditions of eating at the restaurant itself.

"Kenzo-chan, do please sit down and make yourself at home." smiled Kagome's mother whose name was Yumiko Kuwahara. "Yes landlady, Kuwahara-san," I replied as I went out from the kitchen and sat at one of the dainty stool at the dining table, away from the mother and daughter as they exchanged small tall at the same time eyeing me from the kitchen.

Small laughter was heard from the two ladies in the kitchen. "How is school today, Kenzo-chan? Asked the landlady." School's great Kuwahara-san. I earlier got a missile attack from our History teacher." I called out my answer to her. Yumiko peered at me from an angle and I heard Kagome muttered something and they both laughed again.

The mother and daughter scene and the conversational piece was an image that I had not felt for a very long time. It reminded me much about my mother and the rest of my siblings when we were greeted by great wafting smells from the kitchen upon returning from school. The image somehow nudged at the strings of my heart and made my eyes glitter with wetness. I managed to calm my heart and my eyes and swallowed hard when I reminiscence the thoughts of my late mother whom I wished had lived longer than me and whom I dearly missed so much.

Spending time together like this is what I wished for if I could turn back the time.

No words can describe that feeling right now.

Ninja onions... Advance and attack!
