A few days later, the two teams from Sango's father and the Wonder 8 team members stopped at Aizubange settlement just outside of Kitakata little town and congregated there while gathering their information that they had met during their extermination of the Youkai. Since Shippo had a set of crayons inside his little adventure bag that was filled with other toys, he drew quite accurately on the Youkai that they had exterminated in the two villages.
Shippo drew on his sketchpad a Noppera-Bo,a ghost in human form, with one exception; it has no face. It was haunting a tavern whereby it would stand behind the counter with its back turned and when one enters it asking for service, it would turn around and scare the person out of his pants!
It is not a life-threatening matter but it just ends up scaring customers to the tavern. It is heard that it likes to lurk in dark alleys and jumps out in front of couples and scaring them.
Miroku or Hoshi-sama managed to exorcise the spirit and bottled it in a gourd and handed it to the owner and explained this should be sent to the nearest shrine to cleanse it. The spirit may be a from a customer or an ex-employee, but the divine ones at the shrine would be able to identify it.
Next, Shippo had another drawing of a woman that was shaped like a spider and had many spiders around her. It was called The Jorogumo or an entangling bride, which is also known as the whore spider.
This youkai take the form of golden orb-weaver spiders, and when these spiders reach 400 years of age, they develop magical powers and start feeding on humans instead of insects. To do so, the jorōgumo assume the form of beautiful women and lure young men to their doom.
These Youkai was haunting a part of a path that leads to the village and many young men had been ensnared by its seduction and many had lost their lives.
Hoshi-sama was nearly trapped by the alluring beauty and seduction that the Youkai had enticed him with. It even said she will want to bear his children and this mention had released a trigger in him.
Hoshi-sama nearly lost all his senses and bearing and luckily Sango was there and managed to severe the Youkai with her hiraikotsu easily. Then she used the hiraikotsu earlier in the Youkai and hit it on Hoshi-sama's head on purpose.
When Hoshi-sama realised that he got a bump on his head, Sango just replied that she lost the balance of the hiraikotsu and the edge somehow landed on Hoshi-sama's head by accident. Since the Youkai had been exterminated by the hiraikotsu, there was nothing left on the ground except for squashed bits and pieces of spider that Kohaku and Kirara had taken care of.
The next one on Shippo's sketchpad was a long shadowy figure that comes out of a well. Kyokotsu is a youkai that is normally found in Wells that had been long abandoned, much like the Bone Eater's Well. When travellers approach the well, the Kyokotsu pops out and curses them.
These ghostly spirits form when a body is thrown down a well, rather than properly disposed of, or when someone dies accidentally or commits suicide by falling down a well. In this case, a woman had fallen into it when she tried to draw water some 10 years ago. The body was recovered but her spirit remains inside it.
Hoshi-sama managed to exorcise it, sealed the well up using a protective barrier and talisman and had a sign erected about the dangers of its well. Since a body had fallen inside and was left rotting for a few days, the water was presumably unsafe for drinking and only good for livestock and watering plants.
Kikyo and Inuyasha had gone to search with Sango's father and joined them as they had read in the letters that the Youkai they were facing was quite harmful to the society.
A Hone-onna, or "bone woman," appear as beautiful young women. Once arisen, the hone-onna returns to the love of her life, whose judgement is clouded by her beauty and love. She then feeds off his life force until it's totally depleted, leaving the love of her life in the same state as she was. However, when the more she feeds on the life force, the prettier and radiant she gets.
Lifeforce in this sense was actually fellatio and she sucks and drains it every time, I the extent of at least 4 to 5 times a single night. She is believed to live in banana trees as a spirit.
A Honne-onna could only be visible in her true form by those unclouded by feelings of romance or love, or the strictly religious, can see through the beauty of the hone-onna and behold her as what she really is - a skeletal woman with bits of rotting flesh clinging to her bones.
Kikyo had used her sacred arrow and dispersed the yoki and when it ran to take shelter among the clusters of banana trees Inuyasha used his Akai Hane and chopped the whole banana trees in a single swipe.
It is believed that the banana trees need to be swiped with a single stroke of a blade, or it will turn to the wielder of the blade with exact vengeance twice than that towards the love of their life. Luckily Akai Hane manages to perform such destruction to the trees thus exterminating the Honne-onna in a single stroke imbued with Kamehameha.
Inuyasha described it to Shippo and with the former guidance, managed to draw a more gruesome skeletal figure in a female kimono.
Next on Shippo's drawing is a large skeletal form. Gashadokuro is giant skeletons that rattle around the countryside in the darkest hour of the night, bones clacking together.
The Youkai made sounds like, "gachi gachi," which happens to be the origin of their name.
Gashadokuro doesn't go looking for victims, but will kill whomever they find as they wander about.
It ended up one night in the house of the chief village and killed one of his concubine who was serving dinner in the dining room. The skeletal figure appeared out from nowhere and smashed the room into smithereens and left the concubine headless.
They crush victims with their giant hands, then bite off their heads. These Youkai are formed when hundreds of unburied dead with grudges against the living fuse together into one monster.
It took several of the Youkai Taijiya to hold down the skeletal with their metal chains and Inuyasha helped the team by takings its skeletal head off. The decapitated head nearly chomped down on one of the Youkai Taijiya and Kikyo managed to send an arrow up its skull, thus breaking it into hundred of bits.
Inuyasha then cleared the remaining skeletal body by driving Akai Hane from the base of the neck, right through the ribs and ends up splitting the skeletal form in two when he completed the run right to its lower lumbar.
The skeletal form just fell to the ground like a heap of prehistoric bones and Inuyasha stomped on it a few times, ensuring that it had no sense of life coursing through the bones and would make itself as a threat to the society.
With the help of Inuyasha, Shippo drew the skeletal figure and it ended up looking like a skeletal dog instead. But one look at it makes people understand what it is all about.
Next, Shippo Had drawn a woman running away with a baby in its arms. The Ubume is a parenting figure and is usually associated with the image of a mother bird.
She is the incarnation of a woman who didn't make it through childbirth. She is known to steal children and raise them as her own. These children that were taken by her were normally newborn that was just left unattended for a few minutes by their mother's in the crib or on the tatami mat.
She would sneak in through a window or a ventilated roof and brought the child up in her bosom and flew away. When she is nearby, the residents would hear flapping sounds of a Swan or goose over their rooftops, indicating that she is near and would victimise the parents of the newborn.
The whereabouts of the babies taken were unknown until one of the Youkai Taijiya handed Inuyasha with a handful of smoke bins that releases a potent poison that could drive a demon to tears.
When it was spotted by the team, Inuyasha who had worn a metal mask to purge the smell of the overpowering fumes of the poison, went into action and threw a few smoke bombs at the direction of the Ubume.
It shrieked in horror and flew to a direction of a cave some few kilometres away and Inuyasha managed to keep track.
Once inside, Inuyasha was greeted with a sorry sight of newborn babies that had turned purplish with several bite marks on it and had died between a few months to a few days ago. Inuyasha ran after Ubume and the flashes of those demised babies were plying in his eyes as he tore at Ubume using his Sangon Tesso and kicked, stomped Ubume like it was a rag doll.
Inuyasha was full of rage as he continued to kick the lifeless body of the Ubume like it was a piece of a rag doll until Kikyo came over and patted him on his shoulders.
The moment Inuyasha turned around, his eyes were red and filled with rage and sadness for the newborn that had suffered and laid in the crevices of the cave. He hugged Kikyo and was immediately consoled and tears rolled down from Inuyasha's face.
Even as a Youkai, he still had the compassion of a human being, as a hanyou. Kikyo embraced Inuyasha as the team helped to retrieve the dead corpses of the newborn and with the help of Hoshi-sama, he began to chant several incantations as they were laid on the ground.
The villagers were notified and were in shock and horror to find the demise of their newborn and were crying uncontrollably and hysterically while a mass grave of 6 foot deep was dug up just a short distance of the cave.
The corpses were quickly buried and the husbands consoled their wives as they take it as part of their fate and destiny. They thanked the team that had finally exterminated the evil demon that had been terrorising their village and hope this would be the last encounter for them.
A tomb made of a large flat rock was placed at its headstone as it marked the mass grave of over 8 newborns. Inuyasha was teary-eyed as he had clawed the soil over to make a considerable mound and he took some flowers and laid it on the grave.
Inuyasha was distraught when he described the Ubume to Shippo that he too was affected by his elder brother who was sulking in the corner. The former shared a sweet treat that he had saved from his bag and passed one to Inuyasha, who took it and popped it into his mouth, as he tried to cover his emotions in front of this brat.
After collecting all the data and information, Shippo made the sketchpad named after a list of known Youkai and Sango's father had promised him that he would assist Shippo in making a complete list of Youkai from A to Z.
They soon left the Aizubange settlement and headed towards Kitakata and Inuyasha was kind enough in that night to carry Shippo on his shoulders.
Upon reaching Kitakata, it was just before daybreak and the 2 teams were welcomed back to the village by the employees who were getting about their business before heading to work. They wore the blue vests and walked happily to work accompanying the team back to their own houses when they entered the district.
The protective barrier was present at the perimeter of the little town and upon entering it sent a sort of electrifying effect but ended shortly as the protective barriers would only harm and stop Youkai with ill intent. They went back home and performed their necessary things, either to wash up or to pack their stuff.
Around midday, the Wonder 8 came over to our place just as Hiko-sama and I had stepped out of the house after close to 2,000 plates before deciding to break for lunch.
"Himura, look... I managed to draw these Youkai that we had met along the 2nd expedition for the Youkai extermination."

"I had included our number one enemy on the first page and I just drew some cartoon characters of them since I didn't manage to capture their true image due to anger."
Shippo handed me the sketchpad and I find the drawings to be quite accurate in depicting The Thunder Brothers while followed by the turtle and the earthworm that was our first expedition together plus some other drawings.
Shippo had drawn the last one where it showed a woman being stomped by Inuyasha and babies with a two large 'x' for their eyes, indicating that they were intoxicated by drinking spoilt milk that had turned to yoghurt or had died somehow.
Shippo was the one that was doing the narrating and when Kikyo mentioned how Inuyasha was affected emotionally when he saw the dead newborn, I could sense that he had turned into a gentler Youkai that had a human heart. I looked at the picture drawn by Shippo and the figure in the floor when Inuyasha was stomping on was a black mass indicating that Ubume was squashed like a gokiburi.
We had dinner and we tried to cheer Inuyasha up. I ordered the 'aunties' for popcorn for Inuyasha alone and glazed it with honey and roasted peanuts. When the treat came, Shippo tried to reach in before Inuyasha and was presented with a knuckle sandwich.
We all laughed as things would always remain the same when these two were bickering over food and snacks.
