209 6.3 Plans For Public Community Building, Dojo and Business Hall.

Over the course of about ten days, Hiko-sama and I were kept busy by noting down of all the new registration of employees that would be working in the new production lines in the new warehouses.

Once we had the names compiled, even though it wasn't complete to hit the 3600 number of employees required, we managed to split everyone into their respective shifts.

Another 1,188 personnel needs to be filled in as the new immigrants had started to fill in the households and since there are quite alit of vacancies left, there is no worry to have it filled in the following month or so.

At this rate, almost everyone currently in the outermost District was employed by us. The commoners' District had already been sufficiently employed and deployed and were working mostly on the business, trading and marketplace while most were working on their own as individual messengers or in the messengers guild. Within the business, trading and marketplace, an estimated 3,000 of the commoners were employed there.

We had summoned the owner of the supplies responsible for the cauldrons, wrought iron stands, rocket stoves and such. All the operational items needed per production lines were supplied by him and had been paid fully.

The glassmaker and Potter were summoned on separate timings and were told to supply us the required containers for our products. Since the containers were being ordered three-fold now, the two industries were now under our contract in serving us with the quantities required.

The supplier for the spermaceti had already been contracted by us as well and would be supplying us 30 barrels of 50 gallons of the spermaceti to make the Kaori No Kyandoru every month instead of 2 months now. He too was contracted by us to consistently supply the blubber oil.

The miners for iron ores, coal and limestone had jumped from 18 to 72 workers to keep up the supply to produce Refined Steel consistently. Their output alone to the Refined Steel Plates were already 216 gold coins for their salaries and incentives for each handcart load of iron ores remained at 2 gold while limestone and coal remained at 1 gold each. All our 36 warehouses were running at 66% rate and the employees were given a day off every 3 days of work. A total of operationally Plant Supervisors and Assistants were working as per normal and had reported to the Plant Managers of any shortfall of supplies and were immediately replenished by the 36 storekeepers.

The current 4 plot of lands were left empty first and we had gone through several designs and were choosing which one that suited them most.

This game consists of a wooden box with burning charcoal in the centre. 4 portions of incense were smelled and burnt, while each player has to guess which is which was burning. A total of 10 incense were served in small containers and its a game for 4 people.

As the incense was infused with Psi Energy Healing Spheres, everyone felt invigorated and refreshed when playing them.

Poem Game of 200 cards.

Everyone would have 10 cards each and out of these 100 cards that had portraits of the writers, they have to match the portraits with the famous phrases and if one does not have the right portrait or phrase has to draw a set of cards each.

The player who has no cards left on hand is the winner. Plays by 4 to 8 people and variants of the game are available.

Picnic set.

A set for 4 or more people where they brought their own potluck and arranges in the picnic set. This setting creates an atmosphere just like modern-day potluck gatherings but was prepared in intricate picnic sets.

Tea ceremony.

A set for 4 or more people. These setting includes special objects and rituals to upkeep the traditional practise of tea ceremony on special days. These tea ceremonies would be held in rooms booked in advanced.

Calligraphy rooms.

A place where one could express their thoughts through writing and drawing using large paint brushes and pots of black ink on stretched cloth.

Ikebana Rooms

It is a room designed to seat 4 people and they could arrange plants and flowers on vases as part of their past time. They could bring that completed ikebana or put them on display in the community buildings with their name on it.

Outdoor Kyudo

This was Kikyo's ideas to instil people who are interested in archery to take up the sport. It would be placed at the side of the building and was backed by a high wooden fence so the archers would not shoot their pesky neighbours. 10 archery lanes were introduced with standard bow and a quiver of arrows.

This outdoor kyudo would be placed outside the planned Dojo.

Cross Stitching Rooms

A room fit for 4 people for cross stitching to create artwork to adorn the walls of the community or for their own personal use such as a small Takamura or pillow.

Origami Rooms

Seats 4 people at a time and this quiet and serene room enables a person to create origami using a standard 4inch x 4inch coloured paper. It could be used to decorate the community area as well as their homes.

Wood Carving Room

This room also seats 4 people and they could bring their materials and do some carvings and chipping or whatever they like with their tools.

Silent Reading Room

A collection of books were in place in the general area like a library, they come and choose what they like and sits in the silent reading room to have some peace and quiet while sipping tea.

Massage Rooms

There are 4 rooms each for the male and female masseurs to help tone down tired bodies

Kayu-san sat with us and try to visualise the structure of the 3 storey community building and we ended up having 20 rooms on each floor, while 8 rooms were reserved for masseurs, a small reception table right in front of the main sliding door, and an open-air concept with seating of 6 on the rooftop which they could see the whole town from there.

There would be 10 yatai stalls and 12 sets of seating areas with colourful umbrellas in the middle of the table so they could smoke and dine after they had their activities. The rooms were rental free, while they could support the livelihood of the sellers on the open-air cafe.

The plan for the public community building to be opened 24 hours were very much welcomed by the residents and employees. Kayu-san had 3 sets of papers with him and each paper denotes each floor. The 1st-floor foundation would be made of masonry, while the 2nd and 3rd floor would be of pinewood.

The 3rd floor was designed in such a way that it would be able to have a safe workload of 6 tonnes or more. It was decided that the main skeletal structure would be made of concrete to withstand the load just like the current governmental buildings.

Kayu-san estimated the works to be at 10-14 days and final touch up would be made to ensure the building is safe worthy.

A single-storey Dojo was planned next and it was a simple single-entry hall for both unarmed and armed combat training. This was also made into a running circuit and a small deadweight area as well.

The business conference hall was a 2 storey building. The ground floor would be 3 conference halls that had movable partitions to be made into one single large conference hall with an elevated stage. Long tables and chairs would be placed inside and could easily hold 120-200 people there.

The second floor would be a resting area, with common quad bathrooms and quad toilets on each end and would be able to accommodate a 2 person and 4 person rooms with 2 kitchenettes for boiling water and no cooking at all. This is to reduce the risk of fires. Outdoor seating would be available as well for those who wish to dine, smoke or drink outside.

Once kayu-san had all the diagrams he needed. He allocated 60-90 men to embark on this project and at the meantime, he told us the approximate costs for the 3 buildings since the 24 warehouses were discounted from the original 80 gold coins each to 50 gold only.

We proposed paying the salaries for the workers and provide their meals and get further discounts on the construction of the 3 buildings. We settled for 500 gold coins for the whole 3 buildings and we agreed. The whole process would be done by 10 days.
