It was a week later when I addressed Miroku the Hoshi at the Eastern Monastery and inquired about marriage. He gazed at me and raised a question if I am ready to embark such an affirmation and asked if it was with Izumi and I replied positively.
He chuckled at me and announced that he and Sango had been thinking about the same thing. "Errr...you were thinking about me getting married to Izumi too?" I queried as he was wiping away tears of joy from his face. "Hahaha...not really, Chosen One. I was thinking of asking Sango's hand in marriage as well. Even Inuyasha and Kikyo was deciding the same thing too. Hahahaha..."
I scratched the top of my head as I was thinking of the matter and almost thought it was a joke they were pulling on me. "Eh...when did this happen?" I asked myself and indeed it was a sweet surprise.
"I will certainly inform His Majesty, Tokugawa Iemochi regards these wedding arrangements and we would all have his blessings. Hahahahahaha. It's really a surprise though. I can't imagine it at all. The three of us? If you are involved in this, how are you going to hold the ceremony?" I raised a question while I was clasping the back of my head and looking quite amusing at this idea.
"We have the Immortal One from the Western Monastery who would definitely lend a hand in these matters. Furthermore, it's going to be a triple joy for these occasions. It is not an everyday thing that there would be a triple auspicious wedding circumstance like this happening. Hahahaha..."
"Oh yeah...the Immortal One with the megaphone in his hand. Hahaha. Of course, I had met him the week before and imploring him about my so-called cultivation levels that had been bottlenecked for quite some time without realising."
"Any date that you had selected, Hoshi-sama?"
"I haven't think of a reasonable date yet... How about 18th June? It's certainly will look promising on the invitation letter that would be dated as '18.06.1860'... Hehehehe. It is going to be a Monday on that day, so at least having an event on that day would also chase the Monday blues away, right? Hahahaha... "
"Hahahahaha.... 2 days before my birthday...! Its sure would be a great birthday present for me as well...We are going to have a birthday reception on that day too as well... That's an excellent idea, Hoshi-sama. Hahahahahaha."
I can't help but laugh at his idea of organising the wedding for the 3 couples on the very same day, 2 days before my birthday and celebrating early for me to enter my passage of adulthood. Hahahaha.
I met up with Hiko-sama and informed him that I just met with Miroku the Hoshi and informed him of the unbelievable news. Seeing him rather surprised at the news that the three of us had unexpectedly wishing to end the bachelor life and enters into coupleship, he can't help but smile at the idea.
"Hahahaha. So the three of you had decided to get married and have bountiful of kids running around the courtyard, right? I guess it's about time too, kid. It's better for you to settle down after all. A kid like you would one day grow up and have wings and would fly away from the nest."

He can't help feeling a bit sad at having his adopted son as well as a good friend leaving him soon from his household. It had been close to 6 months since I had come here during wintertime.
"So what date are you three planning on?"
I explained to Hiko-sama and he laughed and find that it was a rather auspicious date since Miroku the Hoshi had mentioned it. I also informed him that a letter would be sent to Tokugawa Iemochi of the good news and hope he would be able to find time to celebrate the joyous occasion with us.
I met with Izumi later in in the day when she was free and informed her of the event and she was overjoyed and she embraced me tightly in public and saying that it was the best piece of news she had received in her life.
"Oh Himura, I don't care about the wealth and richness in this whole world. You are the one that brought me hope and joy and you are the one that I wanted to spend my whole life with."
"Izumi, if you had never entered my life, I would still find myself adrift in this world and I would like to spend my whole life with you too."
"I came to this life as a nobody, I worked from the lowest rung of the ladder and became a housekeeper and one day I had gotten the opportunity to be where I am right now and I feel that life is never complete with you, Izumi. It was a rough journey but filled with sweet surprises."
"We had raised from the ashes like a Phoenix and got to where we are now. Above all, we were always humble and never forget where we had come from. Most importantly, the residents of New Kitakata Town had benefitted from the ventures of life. No matter how hard we struggle, it was you that I looked for in the end."
"I am glad that you had come up with the decision to be part of my life, Himura. I was only a slave girl and both you and Sensei had brought the 6 of us here and build us a home where we could pave our path in life. If not for the both of you, we would still be someone's slaves and we won't know of our fate. Thank you, Himura... I will be of service to you and I would love you till eternity."
"I would be of service to you and would love you till eternity, Izumi. I am glad that you accept my proposal to have your hand in marriage and we would have bountiful of kids bounding up and down soon."
"Yes...kids. The seed that you had planted is beginning to grow inside of me, Himura. Would you be ready to be a daddy soon?"
Izumi held my hand and places over her tummy and I can feel its churning and growling... In hunger, because it is almost lunchtime already. Hahahahah. I wonder what the 'aunties' were preparing for lunch as I had given them the recipe for the 'Saroendeng Dutch Style' garnishing with beef. It's sure going to be yummy with steamed rice and all...
"Let's head for lunch together, we would call our friends along too since we would be getting married as 3 couples soon. Hahahaha... It is hilarious..."
I pulled Izumi's hands as we walked to the employees' meal place and waited for the rest of the 2 couples and Hiko-sama to join us. As expected, the 'aunties' had prepared the 'Saroendeng' and soon the 7 of us were having white steamed rice with the 'Beef Saroendeng' and a light coconut-based milk vegetables with boiled egg, fried tofu, fried soybean cake, cabbage, string beans and glass noddle known as 'tang hoon' that looked like vermicelli noodle, but much lighter in texture and won't make you full.
It was a simple dish but yet the 'Beef Saroendeng' seems to complete everything with a dollop of XO Sauce at the side. Hehehehe... Don't forget the XO Sauce wherever we go, you know... Hahahhaha.
