After Jean Lethal had eaten and felt full for the first time in 3 months, I handed him my blanket and asked him to find a spot in the hearth that we had finally completed laying the grounds of 24x24 and had installed the wood panellings and left the part for the window and door frames.
It was a short distance away from our original encampment and only when it's raining would we run back to our makeshift tents to take cover. The roof was not installed yet and I decided to have a flat roof instead and eliminate the use of extra materials.
It's not that I'm lazy, but frankly, I have no idea to make a hearth and earlier when I wanted to make an 8x5 she said that it is a personal graveyard, not a hearth. Hahahahaha. I had forgotten that I was using the Imperial system to measure instead of Metrics.
Furthermore, I have no idea of making a house, so a flat roof as flat as the flooring would be just fine. To create a 24x24 stone roofing, I would need the same amount of stones required by the stone flooring. Since Matilda has a better storage bag, she could store as many craps as she can get and leave the fusing and crafting to me instead.
"Alright, that settled then. You two have your rest first, I need to get some more equipment and I'd be right back. The market and trading district would still be open 24 hours a day even though there are no adventurers around. Amazing...! It's so convenient being near to fabricated towns like this."
I left those 2 to chat and while the time away as I engaged my Cruising Along and heads towards Ackworth that was just about 15 minutes away. If we were to trudged on normal speed it would definitely be 45 mins or so due to the 1:3 ratio.
I bought a haversack, an iron pick and axe, a blanket, tarpaulin with 2 screws on poles, a fishing kit and a plate, bowl, drinking mug and some utensils. The rest of the necessities for our food had been bought the other day to accommodate our 7 guests that comes by twice a day for their meals.
A 25 catty sack of rice and 10 catty of plain flour were bought along with 3 trays of chicken eggs that would compliment our breakfast and dinner alternately. I also bought 10 catty of red and green beans respectively, 10 lumps of palm sugar and 1 catty of glutinous rice flour.
After I had paid for all the merchandise, i engaged my Cruising Along and returned back at our hearth and noticed that they were still chatting up and talking about what happened to my sword that previously was turned into a curly nostril hair...!
"Hohohoho...is that so? Luckily both of you work as a team to get rid of the BOSS...and the spoils, shared with Robin?"
"Nahh...he refuses to take any of it. He said i could take everything. See these gems? He fused all the shards and made them into poor quality ones. The sapphires and diamonds he just set it aside. I guess when the time comes, he would be making the Fair ones soon."
Matilda showed the shards and the gems and Jean Lethal said that his staff has one socket but it would be a pity to insert such a gem into it. "I'd ask from you a gem when the time comes, okay?" he said as he held his quarterstaff on his lap.
"I heard you talking behind my back yaaa...? So, you wanted to have a better quarterstaff, JL? It's as easy as snapping your fingers. Pass it to me, here's your haversack and your things. I'm going to craft these iron axe and pick to be better ones and I'm going to craft a better quarterstaff for you. it's high time we have better weapons and not left out, am I'm right, Matilda?"
"Ya...Ya...Ya...You're right, Robin...coo..." Matilda started to sound like Maggie the fat pigeon witch from the RTW novel.
I took Jean Lethal's quarterstaff and the iron axe and pick and headed to the fireplace and meditated there to head to Realm of Mind. I picked 3 Refined Steel plate and heads to the fusion chamber and inserted the axe head and refined steel plate into an empty slot. I pulled the primary slider to FUSE and the secondary to TOOLS. I then closed the door and pull the lever.
I repeated the process for the fusion of the axe and pick and both came out as a success.
Next is a tricky part. I place the staff and the steel plate and I choose CRAFT and WEAPON since I would be crafting a new type of staff. There was an option to what I would be crafting and designing and i chose the most basic design. It will be tipped with steel at the ends called a ferrule and it would be like a knob at the end as well.
After choosing the designs, i closed the door and pulled the lever and prayed it'll come out as planned.
*Ding* Crafting Success! Short Staff Upgrade.
"Phew...! It's a success. I wonder how i would have to reimburse if i disintegrated his quarterstaff." I opened the door and retrieve the enhanced weapon and it looked more splendid and more oomph...!
I meditated off and return to the real-world and I walked to Jean Lethal and called out to him while handed the axe and pick while hiding the upgraded quarterstaff behind the wall at an imaginary l near the door frame.
"Here's an axe and pick for you, JL. It had been crafted to be much better than the ones you can find in the smithy. Come and see if you can wield this with your current level."
Jean Lethal stood up and retrieved the axe and pick and he finds that it was ok for him to wield those. "What about my quarterstaff? Is it being crafted as well?"
"Uhhhh...your quarterstaff...uhh...how shall I say it yeah...?" I pretended to scratch at an imaginary itch on my head and looked at him with a fake sad face while pouting my lips...
"Oh...its alright if it's obliterated in the technique. You had provided me with 10 shillings, right? I could utilize that and acquire another one..." Jean Lethal sadly mumbled at the loss of his weapon that he had a hold on to for the preceding 3 months.
"Yeah...just too bad JL...it got destroyed in that process. It was horrible...! I heard a lot of cracking and splintering like as if it was made if matchsticks and it flared and burnt into a pile of ashes right before my eyes...it became a useless pile of shit afterwards and it's good to be used as compost..."
"A branch would be of a better use for your quarterstaff...*tsk* *tsk* *tsk*...how sad...i could hear as if your quarterstaff was begging for its life.... 'Tolong...Tolong...sakitnya...mati lah Aku...' It seemed to say to me."
Hearing how I express the explicit details on the way his quarterstaff was being raped and mutilated, he can't help but fell to his knees just before an offscreen crew placed a cushy pillow so he won't hurt them.
He buried his face in his hands like as if someone had stolen candy from him and he sobbed uncontrollably. Another offscreen crew handed a box of tissues to Matilda and she took some out and passed it to Jean Lethal by fluttering it near his head.
Jean Lethal took a tissue and tore it into half before stiffing them up in his nostril while he wiped his eyes and tear-stained face.
"Yeah...your quarterstaff really had died and more to join the rest of the firewood but out from the ashes, came Gotham...!"
Matilda eyed me with quizzical looks because she believed every word I said when I narrated how the quarterstaff had failed to be created. She started conveyed me with suspicion because i could craft the axe and pick and why I failed to create a better quarterstaff. When I mentioned a new name, she even looked surprised and began asking me where is it?
"Come on Robin...stop bullying this poor and pathetic 3-month-old adventurer with no weapons except for an iron axe and pick. What is he going to do if he faced a BOSS like the other day? Manicure and Pedicure its claws?"
"Hahahahahaha....your pathetic quarterstaff is gone forever and is now being replaced by Gotham...presenting...Gotham...!!!"
I reached over behind the wall and brought out the upgraded quarterstaff that had ferrules of steel on both ends about a foot in length and large knobs on the front that looked like the fist of a wild boar.
"Is...Is...that my quarterstaff? You explained it perished...cracked and splintered and exploded into flames?"
"Well it did, didn't it? If not how it would be transformed into Gotham? You like the name or you want me to title it to another of your choice?" I asked and I handed him Gotham, the improved staff with the knobby fist of a wild boar at the end.
"Why Gotham? I like the new appearance and what you did to it. But the name with the first of a wild boar at both ends...should it be called Fisty instead?"
"Fisty...? No...No...No...No...No...It won't do because the moment you drive it into some monster's shit hole, you are going to be fisting it...No...No...No...Its pure torture for the monsters...Fisty could be spelt as Fiesty especially with you Englishman and your accent and all."
"I'm French...remember...? Gotham, it is...its Got Ham right? Hohohohoho..."

"Ah right...a Frenchie. I'd bear that in mind. Yeah, we have Nottingham, Rotherham, Amsterdam...why not Gotham and if you speak loosely and fast, it sounds like Got Them and if you speak slowly and drag those words it's gonna sound like Gold Thumb! Check it out on Google Translate and have fun hearing the slow and fast versions of these pronunciation. Hahahahaha..."
"Hey, it's not fair...I've got Vendetta, JL's got Gotham...and what did you name your sword?"
"Heaven and Earth Splitting Divine Blade?"
