"Everyone, mark this day and let us pray in the name of our Lord that we would surpass this battle against the demons that had occupied this Holy Land. Today would be the mark of our pinnacle as we pledge our Alliance and Allegiance to KingRichard, the Lai Yen Hart. Give us a moment of silence."
I knelt down on one knee before the 153 strong warriors of the New Vagabond Army, the core fighting force of the Band of Vagabonds. The rest of the warriors were also doing the same as they too were down on one knee and held their right fist over their hearts.
Everyone was deep in prayers, so does the offscreen crew that was taken in by the solemness of my small speech and prayer. Not a single sound was heard for the entire minute as if time stood still.
The birds and crickets stopped chirping altogether. The fishes in the stream did not splash on the surface as insects were hovering near it. After a minute had passed, I raised my head and spoke up.
"Today's war against those demons in Spottiswood would be called 'Battle of Burning Fields'. The captains and I had made a mini-map and we shall proceed to it to understand the situation better."
I motioned for the captains to unveil the minimap that had been constructed by Will.I.Am and the two support staffs since they had been going around these places, doing about their own businesses.
The minimap is not small in scale, in fact, it covered the whole table. It was completed with knolls, miniature trees, the small mineshaft and complete with miniature demons and Imps. Since this is an evening battle, the imps and demons would be visible on the map.
The Sheriff which had been notified earlier had come with his men at arms and watched us from a distance, some 2 kilometres from the battlefield. They had set up a camouflage netting over their lookout point and had arranged for some tables and chairs with refreshments as well.
A military tentage and several telescopes had been set up as well for those who wanted to view the whole battle arena. A few newspaper boys were there as well and this battle had gathered close to 300 other adventurers from other bands as well.
"Hear ye, hear ye... Read all about it. The Battle of Burning Fields between 154 warriors from the New Vagabond Army of the Band of Vagabonds would be taking place soon. Get your copy of the Battle Arena for only 2 pence (or Coppers as we know it). Come and get it while it's hot, check out those names and classes of warriors and the odds against the demons... "
The newspaper boys were hollering their newspaper and in it were detailed information of our NVA and the battle gear that we all wore were simply marked as Light Class. No primary class tier was mentioned because of the uniqueness of the coat of arms design.
A brief introduction was made in the papers regarding our unclassified weapons and armours and the number of accessories that each one wore. Our stats were HIDDEN all these while and there was no mention of it in the papers.
"Aw, come on lad. This is a simple betting system. It's a win or loses kind of bet. Its either The New Vagabond Army would win or would lose. We won't go into detail on who draws first blood and how many would fall during this battle." coaxed a bookie to some of the adventurers there since the odds was 1:8.
Whoever comes out as victory would make 8x their money and this entices the gambling addicts old men who loved to talk all day about soccer bets and their winning favourites.
"My name is Blake, and I bet on The New Vagabond Army to win. Here are 50 gold coins." said a gentleman from the stands as the bookie noted the name and amount on his 555 ahlong yellow books. Hah hah hah. It was a typical bookie little handbook to note down who favoured which team on that day.
A few bookies were busily noting down the bets with 2 handbooks in hand. The yellow one for the New Vagabond Army while a green one was for Demons.
"Come here, I would like to bet too. 50 gold coins for each team. Hah hah hah... Either way, it would be a loss of 50 golds and a gain of 400 gold coins, right? This would be interesting." said the Sheriff of Nottingham as he placed 100 gold coins to the grubby palms of the bookie as he wrote down the bets in both of the little handbooks.

"When is the battle going to start?" said a young man who had placed a bet on the demons to win the battle. "Huh... The Band Of Vagabonds is good only in party raids. They are not the Undisputed champions and are ranked as 4th overall across the board." said the young man to another as he placed the bets.
"You really think so? Sometimes the underdog would give a nasty surprise at the end. I'm going to bet for the New Vagabond Army instead. Somehow their equipment may look mediocre but their fighting spirit is somewhat skyrocketing."
Soon it was time for the New Vagabond Army to assemble at their safety zone before in Spottiswood.
.......
"Assassins, you know the drill. Once those barbed spikes had run out from those demons, rush in from the flanks and perform a strike and then hide back."
"Yes, Sir Robin. We would test their strengths on the first strike. Safety is a priority."
"The Paragons would move in next and knock them silly before they too would hide back."
"Yes, Sir. One hit and we would disappear with a blink of an eye, just as the Assassins do."
"As for the Mages, Druids and Necromancer, use Juggernaut to make a defensive wall for us prior to their attacks. Use your ice spikes sparingly to randomly seek out these demons hiding just beneath the surface"
"No problem Sir Robin, we would not make a defensive wall but a half dome. It would protect the rest of the men."
"Rangers and Amazonian Fighters, stack your spells and do a combo, Unleashing your dual and tri Arrows one second at a time. Each arrow you deliver would be split into 5 Arrows. Am I right?"
"Yes, Sir Robin. 5 Arrows stacked. Slower than the normal Arrows at speeds of only
180km/h. And they are unblockable."
"That's great, Warriors and Berserker would move in on my count. Remember, safety first. Monks would follow us closely and everyone would use their Doppelganger once within range. Remember, protect the Monks as we move in, their chants and prayers are all within earshot with the help of our helm here."
Little did those spectators knew that our helms were ordinary-looking but each had a Sigil of Communications that worked well within a 500 feet range. In this way, even a healing chant was pronounced, everyone in the team would be buffed. Hah hah hah... A little bit OP don't you think?
Rangers and Amazonian Fighters would just have to bring their shouts within their thoughts and their bows and Arrows would be enhanced. This way, it would not disrupt the whole operations.
I had mentioned to all classes in the NVA and its time to move in as we neared the safety zone marked out by the Battle invigilators or referees dressed in black and white uniform and holding their whistle and flags to commence the battle once the advancing army is ready.
"Time to give that 'somebody' and the rest of the spectators a surprise. Come, make our stats VISIBLE now." I spoke into the small headset within the helm and everyone made their stats visible.
During HIDDEN mode, only our name and class would be visible. Our Refined weapons and equipment looked dull from the outside.
The moment it was turned to visible, an aura of red, white, blue, green emitted from our bodies and weapons as it was shown to the public for the first time. This was caused by the refinements as well as the number of good quality gems that had been previously imbued after the refinement.
The aura of the 154 warriors on the ground was really overpowering at the moment and it was like the sun was shining right underneath them. The aura was blinding to those who would be 50 feet away from the shimmering gloriousness of it. But to those who were watching from a distance, it was like a Hope Rising from the West.
The aura from the 154 warriors' weapons and equipment lit up the shaded forest and when it was 6 pm, as the sun was setting down over the mountain tops, I went forward and inched over the safety zone line. I stepped over it, made a handseal and concentrated the energy and shot 3 balls of fire per second repeatedly towards the ground where the demons are hiding.
The moment I blasted these balls of fire (also known as Rise of the Sun) towards the grounds where I thought the demons would be hiding in ambush, a black puff of smoke emerges from the ground, and a blurry after images of black barbed spikes shot from the ground and into the skies, directly threatening to rain on us within the safety zone.
The referees saw the first attack from me and blew their whistle as they held their multicoloured umbrella over their heads and walked away. Now that's what I called an OP umbrella...!!!
