Chapter 47 - So Happy And Beautiful Together

By the time, Lu Junhui finished, Li Na was on the verge of break down. Her head buried in arms on the table. Lu Junhui stopped talking, he glanced at her, unsure if she was listening to him. She herself asked him to tell about Little Tiger's issues and now she couldn't bear to hear. He thought for a while and decided not to disturb her before he got up and left the conference room quietly.

With the sound of the door lock, Li Na's shoulder trembles lightly. She thought she could fix the damage that Li Na did to Little Tiger but as Lu Junhui told her everything. She could no longer gather her courage to face the child. Little Tiger has suffered a lot because of Li Na's carelessness during her pregnancy but also after he was born. Anyone, with a right frame of mind, could tell why she was acting like this. Li Na was doing the same thing which happened to her in her childhood. She treated Little Tiger just the way her stepmother treated her after her father's death. Reserved and Separated. There was no warmth or emotional bond between them. Only coldness and differences...

Slowly, mounting her head, Li Na put her chin on her fist as she glanced at photographs spread across the wooden table. She wanted to see Little Tiger's pictures from the day he was born until now. There are so many photographs of jumbled together over each other.

Suddenly, the room felt chilly and depressing. Li Na stared at them for a while before picking up a photograph and straightening her back. Staring at the father and son duo she felt a tinge of emotion in her heart.

It was a candid picture clicked from a distance, maybe unknown to them where Lu Jianjun crouched down while holding Little Tiger firmly and securely as little fella's feet doesn't look stable on the ground but Little Tiger was cheekily smiling as his one hand tightly gripping his father's selves tightly and other was stretched out to touch the fur of a baby panda in front of them. Little Tiger's expression was of an excited and surprised child and there was rare happiness on Lu Jianjun's face with a slight smile. He looks extremely happy. The picture was so peaceful and soothing to the eyes but Li Na felt a stab of pain. They look so happy and beautiful together...

A tear rolled down her cheeks and fall on the photograph. She stared at Little Tiger endlessly, his little frame looked weak but he was happy with his father.

Her eyes swept across all the photographs again and stayed at one picture with Li Na. She picked up and viewed both the pictures. There was a huge contrast in both photographs although Little Tiger's excitement was the same. In the picture with Li Na, Little Tiger seems younger and lying in her embrace as he was stretching his one arm towards Li Na's face but he couldn't reach while Li Na clutches his other arm tightly which can easily reach up to her face. In addition, Li Na's face was void of any emotions and Little Tiger seems a little bit troubled for not been able to touch her. Maybe he wanted to feel his mothers touch trying hard to stretch longer. Only if Li Na has shown a little happiness then the photograph would have been like a mother teasing her child deliberately. But that was not the case, Li Na was clearly shunning his touch.

She doesn't know why Li Na was so ruthless to her baby but for sure, Li Na also had a tragic and depressing past, yet she should have tried to understand that Little Tiger was too small and fragile to bear her coldness. At least, Li Na was a mȧturė enough to know her stepmother's indifference but Little Tiger doesn't even know her indifference towards him as the boy keeps on trying to get close to her.

After looking for a long time, Li Na wiped her tears and picked up all the photographs one by one and arranged them neatly. While doing that she couldn't help but think about Li Na, only if Lis wouldn't have tried to conspire against her mother, then maybe her mother would have adopted Li Na and the three girls would have grown together, under the protection of caring and loving parents. Her fate would have been different. But everyone was not as fortunate as twins are.

After knowing the Little Tiger's condition, the first thing Li Na did was, she went to see Little Tiger. She waited for him but Little fella doesn't want to see her. Li Na wanted to barge into his room but Lu Junhui and Bai Tian stopped her before Little Tiger creates huge havoc by going against his wish. She waited for a long time but to no avail.

Surprisingly, this time, instead of fighting Lu junhui understandingly talked to her. Maybe he was amazed to see her efforts.

As Li Na was leaving Lu Junhui stopped her. They sat on the bench outside the West Wing.

"Li Na, I really want you to stay away from Xiao Hu, but I also know he still loves you. That's why he's so hurt to see you again and again. To be honest, It wasn't easy for him to give up on you, it's the same as to see you like this. So, please don't force him, the more you do, the more he'll ignore you." Lu Junhui said politely but his tone was firm with a hint of warning.

Li Na glanced at him, obviously impressed. ' Looks like, this chicken head is not bad at all, he's just protective towards his little nephew. Good.' Well, technically speaking, Little Tiger is not only Lu Junhui's nephew but also Mei-Xing's. And now that, she is not only Little Tiger's aunt but also his birthed mother, so it's natural for her to bend towards the little fella.

Bewildered, Lu Junhui said, "Actually, I'm glad. It's the first time, we talk about Little Tiger and his problems. I always wanted to talk to you before but you ignored, and I never thought, you'll ever be so determined to know about Little Tiger. I just hope you would have done it sooner. Maybe... then we didn't have so many fights and together have helped Little Tiger." he chuckled gloomily, as couldn't believe his own word 'together have helped Little Tiger.' He glanced at Li Na, who sat there unmovingly, there was no particular reaction from her. She was just listening to him.

Sensing his gaze, Li Na said in a low voice more like she pleaded, "I just want to see him once... Lu Junhui for Little Tiger's sake, please tell me, is there any way I can fix this?" She didn't know how to repair this damage. She can't act carelessly with a child.

Lu Junhiui took a deep breath and stood up, " I don't know either. Sorry to say..." he paused and looked at her. She really looked determined for Little Tiger so he suggested her something. "I think, you should talk to big brother. He knows his boy better than anyone to help you, and, I'm sure, it was my brother who wants it more than you, otherwise, he wouldn't have bought you here." Saying this Lu junhui walked away when Li Na wanted to thank him, he just waved his hand without looking back.

They really need to talk about Little Tiger and as his mother, Li Na had to take the initiative.

It was almost midnight when Lu Jianjun returned back, storming towards his bedroom. He didn't saw Li Na lying on the sofa in between their bedroom's living area.

Just as the 'click' sound of door's knob was heard by Li Na, her closed eyes flew open. Abruptly she sat up and called him. "Mr.Lu?" her voice a little hoarse and heavy from all the crying and sobbing.

Lu Jianjun halted instantly and turned back for her. Her eyes were red and swollen and she looked a little messed up. So, he didn't ignore her and stood at the door's frame. "Yes?" he said calmly.

Li Na stood up properly, straightening her clothes. She took a deep breath and restrained her emotions. She hesitated but said lastly, "Mr. Lu? I want to talk to you. About Xiao Hu..."

Lu Jianjun glimpsed at his wristwatch and asked, "Now?" he looked up to see Li Na nodding speedily. He was a little tired as his hand went at the back of his tense neck before a crackling sound of his neckbone was heard. Li Na realized, he might be tired so before she could take back her words and deny, "We..." Lu Jianjun cut in, "Ok, Wait for me in the study. I'll be there shortly." and he turned around and disappeared behind the door.

'We... can talk tomorrow. Or...

'Ok, we can talk now...'
