Chapter 64 - Wouldn't Have Minded At All

Li Na sneezed as she rubbed her frosted nose. 'Damn, Why do I have to lose my temper? And jump straight into the argument. Mei-Xing, did you forget your anger management lessons? Just Breath...' Li Na mused to herself as she sneezed again.

How am I supposed to practice breathing with a blocked nose? Such nonsense.

It's not entirely her fault. She cares about Little Tiger, and she was bound to get impulsive regarding the child. Only she knew her struggle when it comes to controlling her temper. She wasn't obvious to trigger but what flusters her is the lurking distress and danger on the people she cares about and loves them. That thing literally pisses her off.

"Ah, I'll go check on Little Tiger..." Li Na hastily spoke as she tried to avoid the suppressing aura of the man on the couch. She had got enough attention for today.

But just as she slightly turns to leave, Lu Jianjun's cold voice obstructed her. "Did I allow you to leave?"

Li Na involuntarily turns back and said. "But Little Tiger was crying..."

"Mr. Wu can handle him. But who made him cry. Do you know how much effort require to pacify a child to sleep?" Lu Jianjun said in a dangerously low voice.

Li Na shook her head frantically.

'Shit, Are we doomed?' She gulped hard before she glances at the half-naked man standing next to her who was quivering like a leaf in the storm. ' Yeah, we are.'

Are we going to be punished equally? Is there some consideration for a female culprit?

Li Na peeked at Lu Jianjun expectedly, but his stormy eyes gave away any hopes for her.

Busted!

Suddenly, Li Na thought of an idea and blurted out.

"I'm sorry." She apologizes to Lu Junhui looking at Lu Jianjun for raising her voice as she also bows her head.

Shocked, Lu Junhui just blinked a few times looked at her. 'Did she just said sorry and bow? But why?' Unable to interpret her. "It's alright." Lu Junhui replied shrugging his shoulder.

Li Na turned and gave Lu Junhui a deadly stare. But he seemed clueless.

'Idiot, he wants to be punished and later blame me. Fine by me.' She turns to the man sitting on the couch with a stoic face and deep gaze planted on her as she said passively,

"M-Mister Lu, your brother is not apologizing, even when he was the one to start the argument. He is the root cause of the problem." Li Na pointing her index finger towards Lu Junhui.

"Huh??" Lu Junhui felt like her pointing finger was a gunpoint for him. He looked horrifyingly at her."W-What??No, I'm not. And why should I say sorry to her? I didn't ask you to say so? I'm not apologizing to you." He would rather kneel at his brother's feet and begged for mercy than bowing his head to her.

And he expects her to do the same.

"Oh really, Even I didn't ask you to argue with me or just throw all the blame on me. But you did that, effortlessly. So, take responsibility. Second Master Lu? Don't act like a child. " Li Na accused him while she shifted the entire blame on him. Then she looked at Lu Jianjun as if demanding fairness. Undoubtedly, She got her hands off, of the blame by apologizing first.

And Lu Jianjun is the head of the Lu family and Lu Junhui is his brother and she is just an outsider, so obviously he had to make the final decision. Moreover, she's giving Lu Jianjun a choice to be a headsman between two disputed parties like a king than be a torturer without hearing the trail. Although, she was 80% sure that Lu Jianjun won't let her off the hook after what she did to him early.

But looking at Lu Jianjun's dark expressions, she wasn't sure if he caught her smartness or took the bait which just made her heart pounding loudly. 100% He won't let her go easily.

"Junhui, " Li Na's heart skipped a beat at his cold voice. Lu Junhui was ready to kneel.

" Apologise to the lady," Lu Jianjun's word might seem like convicting Lu Junhui but his dark eyes staring at her held some ominous glut of the ocean, she couldn't understand. "Now," he said lastly.

Immediately, Lu Junhui bowed to her and said sorry. She doesn't know why but she felt guilty without a reason.

" It's fine, fine," she said quickly. " Okay, then. It's all even between us. And, I'll go see Little Tiger. Just in case, Mr. Wu needs some help." Li Na hurriedly said and ran off inside before Lu Jianjun could say something or pointed the loophole.

Lu Jianjun just watched her retreating back.

" Brother, I-" Lu Junhui opens his mouth to say something but zipped it again, seeing the thunder.

"Get your clothes on and bring the file of Zhang Corporation." Lu Jianjun roared and Lu Junhui nodded frantically before disappearing along with the wind like a shredded leaf.

By the time Li Na reached the doorstep, Mr. Wu just came out of the room.

"Did he woke up?" Li Na asked the old man, she didn't realize how choked up she sounded before Butler Wu gave her a questioning look. Clearing her throat she asked him again, to which he replied.

"No, he asleep now. He must be having a nightmare. Don't worry, he won't even remember it after waking." The old man slowly shut the door behind him. Li Na stepped back as she tensed up hearing the old man.

Having a nightmare?

"Does this happened because of me? I pushed him too hard." Li Na voice choked at the end of the sentence. Her ċhėst puffed with emotions.

" Don't blame yourself. This usually happened a lot in the past. And we thought he recovered completely. But, tonight it happened after months. Usually, Little Tiger couldn't fall asleep, and he sits up and cries silently. Anyhow, if he slept, he even cries and whɨnės in his sleep. " Butler Wu said dishearted. " I hope he'll get over this." Butler Wu sighed.

Li Na couldn't found the words to speak.

After a while, she asked lowly, "Both, you and Lu Jianjun didn't sleep for the whole night?"

Butler Wu showed her a little smile for a second. " No, I can't stay awake the whole night. I'm an old man. But Lu Jianjun...", he shook his head. " I just came at my regular time at 4 when Master Lu called me here. I..."

Just when they were talking lowly, Butler Wu noticed Lu Jianjun stepping into the living area.

Following the old man's eyes, Li Na turns around.

" Little Tiger? " asked Lu Jianjun to which Butler told him the boy went to sleep, to which he just nodded.

" I'll bring you a ginger tea. You caught a cold so you'll feel better." Butler Wu excused himself as Li Na smiled at the old man.

"Hm?" he hummed but didn't turn to look at her.

Li Na stood a few steps away and said politely. "You knew I was just behind this door. You could have asked me to accompany. I wouldn't have minded at all."
