Chapter 146 - Then You're Lying

Shocked that she might have overheard their talk, Wang Dawei stood up and started to march towards the door when Lu Jianjun replied and relief spread over his tensed muscles.

"No, she's not her," Lu Jianjun answered absent-mindedly, leaving the space for Wang Dawei to see the working woman with a white coat and huge glasses on her nose, answering Lu Jianjun on the door. By the tone and expression on her, Wang Dawei could tell something happened that made him even more curious to follow Lu Jianjun.

As they walked and their shoes clicked on the cold-white floor, Wang Dawei noticed the mild frown on Lu Jianjun's forehead and asked worryingly, "Something happened? Is Little Tiger, alright?"

"It's not about him," Lu Jianjun replied solemnly, "Li Na wants to leave, She came to have a talk with Guo Jie, seems like it didn't go well with her," Lu Jianjun threw a look at the man trailing him and his brows knitted slightly more. Nonetheless, Wang Dawei nodded and after few moments he asked,

"How is Little Tiger doing? Does she behave normally with him?"

"Hm, He's getting better..." Lu Jianjun was then insistent on stating to him, "Much better than you could imagine...she'll have Little Tiger fallen all over her again. She is that good now."

Startled by the fickle praise, Wang Dawei's raised his brows, and smirked, "Yeah! I can see the changes in you... and about our kid, he was as ever in love with his mother. It would be great if she shows a little compassion towards him,"

"That does sound wonderful! Little Tiger and Li Na getting well together, " then Wang Dawei asked complicatedly, "Is it, or, it... isn't?" he wasn't sure if that was even possible to behold the genial relationship in this lifetime.

"I don't know...", Lu Jianjun shrugged sedately, as if he didn't know whether the bond between the mother and son fits his judgment at all when they go on behaving tangibly and sometimes fall at the conjunction of sweetness.

" Wang Dawei? Why are following, stop now!" Lu Jianjun commanded sternly as Wang Dawei was looking around to watch the guard's stations precisely.

"At least let me see her once...I won't talk to her about anything you won't like," Wang Dawei responded as they neared the waiting room Li Na was kept for time being.

Repulsed by the idea, Lu Jianjun glared at him scorningly warning the man and his declarations.

Wang Dawei flinched but didn't quit, "You're monopolizing her, it won't end well if she has an upper hand on you. Just tell me when you want to stop it." he squinted thoughtfully now having adversarial evaluations of her influence on his friend.

"It's final then, nobody from your team or you are getting near her ever, I don't want to see any of you wandering within meters of circumference close to her. Stay right wherever you're working. She's no work now." Lu Jianjun's hand went to the doorknob and as he turned it open Wang Dawei blurred suddenly feeling the dire need to meet the girl who had enamored Lu Jianjun.

"But why are you not letting us help...there was never only work between us. We had helped each other outside work."

Frowning, Lu Jianjun paused and turned to him. There was no hurry in his speech to suggest that he was only speaking to languish him away but genially wants him to maintain distance from her.

"Because, I know what all nonsense you'll say and behave with her when you meet her...specifically when you'll get to know who exactly she turned out to be."

Wang Dawei gave him a polite smiled and answered thoughtlessly, "You're threatening me as if I'll get to meet Mei Xing, let me tell you that even if I become death drunk I'll never mistake her twin sister for her, I remember her that solid,"

"She still hasn't left your mind..." Lu Jianjun's eyes narrowed at his compulsive words.

Not ashamed to be likely exposed in front of Lu Jianjun, Wang Dawei replied wryly, "What to do? You know who and what she was to me...I don't know if it's my misfortune she turned out to be an atypical foe for my family or it's my fortune that they kept her refrained from us."

"Get lost!" Lu Jianjun said savagely, dispensing his honesty and ardent tribulation.

Wang Dawei "That means...you know she can harm you. Lu Jianjun, you need to stop..." "Leave her to us, we can deal with her, you do remember what happened last time when you got this serious for a woman,"

Lu Jianjun glared at him and said stonily," They're not the same,"

"Alright, Alright! Don't be upset. I know you but.. your reaction to her is not very different." he voiced out concerningly, to hear him snapped distressingly, "You're overthinking again," and it was the last strand of patience Lu Jianjun could hold and when Wang Dawei saw the change in his form so he commenced reversing back.

.

Worried as he was not to be affected by this scoff, Wang Dawei placed his hand on his shoulder and urging him sincerely, "My friend, there is a very thin line in between love and hate to make one blind."

Lu Jianjun jerked his hand away as Wang Dawei continued to tell, "You might not love her but don't hate her so much that you'll turn blind to perceive anything else, and my friend this not advice but a serious warning from an experienced fool."

"I'll think about it!" he dismissed the auditor of advice and enter the room shutting the door beside his face.

"So, are you guys dating or what..." Wang Dawei's teasing voice dawdled off by the door's shutting with a thud.

....

Gazing outside into an abyss of darkness and silence, Li Na was standing with her back facing him when Lu Jianjun entered the waiting room. She heard his footstep but took several minutes to turn back.

The moment Lu Jianjun saw her damped eyes and stagnant face, he stopped in his tracks gazing vaguely at her distant stature. He silently watched her taking steps towards him and when he felt like she edict her complaints and disappointment on him, Li Na held the cloth extending her hand just as casually as if she didn't bother at all.

Bemused by the willing gesture, Lu Jianjun indecisively took the cloth from her, and when she turned around his actions ceased. Her silence seems to weigh much more than any other sentiment she displayed at times, at least he got to know what is going through her insides but this stillness exhibited is not obliging at all.

While tying the blindfold, Lu Jianjun couldn't help but asked her tentatively, " So, How was it? Did it help..."

"I'm not even fine with what I heard, help is nowhere to be found," she replied flatly, and he was just done with the knot as she was to turn back his fingers gripped her shoulder in a sudden keeping her unturn at the place as she heard the door open in promptness.

A frown etched her forehead, sensing the stiffness in his hold. Has someone unwanted entered the room? She tried but couldn't detect any presence from hearing and then gradually his grip let her loose, leaving to turn. Li Na turned and before she could question him, Lu Jianjun had already grabbed her palm in his and was leading her out in a haste. And just as they were passing by the door and her steps stumble slightly, a hand brushed at her arm and she was sure it was not Lu Jianjun's.

Before her senses could portend further into the touch, suddenly, Lu Jianjun pulled her forward and her feet swept across the floor and she was left rapt in between.

"What is this?" she asked perplexed as he carried her in his arms smoothly.

"Sorry, I'm in a little hurry now," he replied impudently and then added to occupy her concern, " and you were not paying attention to me,"

"What?" Her hands moved to hold and her grip tightened around attempting to found balance while encircling his shoulder without getting too close to him, she answered ȧssuredly, "But you said nothing,"

"I did!" he reclined brazenly and gaze down at his thinking face.

"Then you're lying," she stated instantly with such certainty that his lips curled up seeing the ȧssurance she has in herself and he felt even more amused that she is not wrong in concluding him.
