Qiao Feng had a hint of a smile on his face as he watched the video on his laptop. It was one he had taken with his camera and because it was handheld it had been quite shaky but then looking at it again, it added a 'genuine' touch to it. It was as though to Qiu Yue, it wasn't just a performance, but something far more real and personal.

This morning, like every other had already become a routine for Qiao Feng. He had gone to her apartment only to be told that Qiu Yue had unexpectedly gone to the park. He hurriedly went after her to try to persuade her once more, however his trip was cut short when he noticed her singing,

And, as she sang, it felt like the world had stopped to stay and listen. Men and women alike couldn't stop themselves from thinking of their own relationships. Children were entrapped by the fairy-like beauty glimmering under the sunlight as her sweet voice reverberated through the park.

Even after it was over, it felt like everyone remained frozen, too caught up in their emotions to clap for her. But to Qiao Feng the pangs of sadness had weirdly started to become waves of frustration. Even he couldn't understand why he felt this way.

As he started to clap for her, she turned and through the crowd their eyes met and Qiao Feng felt like he'd never seen such clear eyes in his life and yet... they felt very familiar.

But the moment passed quickly as a girl walked up to talk to Qiu Yue. He packed up his things and left quietly. His work was done, he was sure that when he goes to ask her tomorrow she'd agree to his proposal.

Qiu Yue's voice held so much emotion and the way her voice broke at the end, as her eyes held back tears again. A part of Qiao Feng was celebrating as this was a means for the audience to connect with their idol, but another part of him felt very uncomfortable.

Why he felt weird like this was beyond him.

He shook his head trying to clear his thoughts. This should serve as a catalyst for the next time he goes to her place, since he's almost certain she'll agree to sign his contract.

He started to replay the video once again to ensure there weren't any discrepancies. Right at that moment the door to his office opened. Normally he wouldn't panic. He never panicked, but this time seeing her standing there while he was watching that video?

He scrambled up and quickly put his laptop on sleep mode, while seeming very suspicious. He then proceeded to curse himself. It's not like he was doing anything illegal, so why did he act like he was?!

Seeing the cool-headed narcissistic manager appear flustered like this, Qiu Yue felt that something was fishy but still decided to let it go. There was something more important they needed to talk about.

Despite this, she didn't say anything.

And Qiao Feng didn't feel like he should either. It almost felt like if he did he would automatically say something stupid.

"..."

"...."

"...."

"So...?"

Qiao Feng finally couldn't take it anymore and broke the silence acting as though nothing bothered him in the least.

"Interesting morning?"

He asked, raising a single eyebrow slightly.

"You should know. You were there. Recording it if I might add."

She said leaning over as she woke his laptop and pressed the spacebar[1], looking at him questioningly. Immediately, the video he had previously paused resumed playing.

Qiao Feng cleared his throat, caught off guard. Qiu Yue didn't seem to realize it but she had leaned a little too close to him, so close that he could smell her, a subtle vanilla scent caught his attention.

He blinked trying to snap out of it. Perhaps if it had been someone else he would've thought this was an attempt to seduce him, but he knew that this wasn't what she was trying to do. She had never been interested in him. Previously, she just liked to order him around and now it was clear that there was someone else who had her heart. Someone who had broken it too.

"Ahem. It'll be good for publicity."

"Mhmm~"

Qiu Yue knew that already. It was just that when she saw him flustered he was so cute. His face remained impassive but you could see his emotions through his eyes. It was actually not that strong of an emotion, just flickers of it really, but she could still see it.

It's just that it also reminded her of Huo Zi Feng and the way he'd opened up to her, letting his guard down around her.

Qiao Feng was surprised to see Qiu Yue smile but then he didn't know what she was thinking about. Her smile dimmed and she let out a sigh.

"If we're doing this then I need to show you something."

Qiu Yue motioned for him to follow her and they both drove back to her apartment. Once they arrived, Qiu Yue finally opened the door to her bedroom and what Qiao Feng saw filled him with awe.

At first he couldn't understand why Qiu Yue led him here but stepping inside the room, he found it unbelievable. He had grown up around music, acting, art and emotion and in here so much talent had converged all of them, transforming them into inked words on paper.

"It's very messy. I know. We need to put them in order before we decide which songs to use. Although I have a few songs in mind already."

Qiu Yue spoke casually as though all those pages and pages of lyrics were just common sheets. Actually for her it wasn't as amazing as Qiao Feng had felt. After all they weren't her songs. They weren't her lyrics. She was essentially copying songs she'd heard in her life in both of the worlds she had experienced before this one.

But that didn't stop him from being amazed, to Qiao Feng this was incredible. Seeing the cause of his amazement behave so nonchalantly, Qiao Feng couldn't appear so excited anymore. He quietly swallowed his questions and hummed in agreement, gathering all the sheets and then started to organize them by their genres.

Unusually one song caught his attention way more than the others and he couldn't help but pause. Even he didn't know why but he felt an urge to try singing it.

"Hmm? Do you like that one?"

Qiu Yue peeked from behind the tall tower that was Qiao Feng to see him intently holding onto a particular sheet.

"Take it if you like it!"

Qiu Yue gave him a quick smile before going back to her work.

"I have enough and more here so if you see anything you especially like you should take them."

That's the least I can do. Regardless of whether Xiang Qiu Yue had been at fault she had taken up months of Qiao Feng's career. Now that Qiu Yue was in her place she felt like she had to pay him back or compensate him.

The biggest reason she didn't mind giving them to him was simply because they weren't hers to begin with.

Things that were hers, she would never share with just anyone.

In the end the two spent the whole day sorting the songs, Qiao Feng then went through them one by one to actually understand them and her idea of how they would be. She would then sing a few lines of each songs, more if required and they'd move to the next. In the end he ended up taking one more song from Qiu Yue before he left.

Starting from that day Qiu Yue started to go to the agency daily like Xiang Qiu Yue had before. She would practice everyday until late.

While her singing was undoubtedly great, she still had to practice to remain that way. Her dancing on the other hand... it wasn't bad? But it wasn't that good so she had to work hard on that. It didn't help that while Qiu Yue wasn't bad at it, sadly she wasn't good at it either.

So practice it was.

[1] [E/N] If you didn't know, some laptops *ahem queue in a certain fruit brand* have a 'hot corners' feature which you can customise to automatically put the laptop to sleep when the cursor hits a specific corner. It's very practical really.

[A/N] yeah I have a super normal laptop so *cries* I had no idea!
