At the same time...
"Dad! Dad! Dad!"
"Brat! Can you stop bothering me?! Can't you see that I'm busy here?!" Zack glared at his son who's in front of him. Zen has been bothering him since he came home and Zack is having a hard time to focus on the doc.u.ments in his hands.
Zen did not flinch or took a step back from his father's glare instead he continued to bother him. He really wants his father to stop reading some doc.u.ments and give him a little bit of attention. He knows that by doing this his father would be really angry at him but his father's attention would totally focus on him because he knows that if he talks to his father while reading some doc.u.ments, his father would really not listen to his every word.
Zack gave up put down everything in his hands and finally look at his annoying son, "What do you want?" This is the first time that his son acted so annoyingly that he couldn't stand it, usually when he wants to say something important he would usually not be so annoying like he is now.
"I heard something so interesting that it's really hard to believe," Zen said teasingly to Zack.
"Straight to the point, Zen."
"Fine." Zen rolled his eyes, his father sure is no fun he wonders what was he like before becoming a general. "I heard that you're part of a secret organization in the shadows."
"What?" Zack was surprised by the sudden statement that came out from his son's mouth. 'Where on earth did he heard this?'
Seeing his father's expression he doesn't know if his father is guilty or not but he decided that what Anna and Aaron claimed earlier were just lies. "I know right! A general and a loyal soldier like wouldn't be part of such a thing. There is no way that..."
Before Zen could even finish his sentence Zack said something that caught him off guard. "I am a part of it." Zen carefully look at his father to see if he's joking or not, but to his disappointment, the look on his father's face is full of seriousness.
"Wha... You're the general! THE general. You're associated with the government!" He can't believe that his father would be a part of a group of people who hid their dirty doings in the shadows. Zen knew that his father is part of a gang when he was young and he only thought that his father was just rebelling at his age so he thinks that is natural, but now it's different his father has a mature thinking and he knows what's wrong and what's right. Being part of an organization in the shadows could tarnish his father's reputation as the general or even worse stripping off his father's title!
"You think that just because I'm associated with the government that means I would be their lap dog and follow their every order. Besides not all government officials are pure-hearted. Did you really think that they don't have any dark secrets that they have kept very carefully? Did you really think that some of them don't do drugs, human trafficking or worse? From what I see I'm better than them, the organization that I'm in is not taking drugs or whatever. The organization only exist to protect each other's back."
Zen is not naive he knows that some government officials are not all kind and they do have their own dark secrets but it's hard for to believe that the organization his father is in is all that. Believing that they do worse than what those government officials.
Remembering what Anna and Aaron said that he and his childhood friend's parents are part of that secret organization that must mean that all this time the a.d.u.l.ts that were surrounding him is part of the underworld and yet they freely walk inside and out of the military camp when they visit his father.
"Protect each other's back?" Zen scoffed. "You must mean protect each other's dark secrets." Since he was a little child Zen has always idolized his father, he's like a hero to him but discovering his father's secret shattered him.
Zen stormed out of the room, went to his bedroom and slammed the door.
"That's the first time he walked out like that, don't you think so my dear?" Zack looks at the person who spoke next to him.
"You heard everything?" He asked. He was actually surprised to see his wife suddenly came in without making any noise. This side of his wife sometimes almost gave him a heart attack.
His wife just smiles telling him that she heard every word. "You could've at least lie to him if you don't want him to know." She said as she sat on Zack's lap while caressing the back of his hair.
"I can't cause sooner or later those unknown guys will definitely make their move and it's better to prepare our son." All this time since the kidnapping incident Zack has been debating on whether he should tell his son about the organization.
Of course, as parents, Zack's wife understood why he is debating on his mind. He wants their son to live freely to what he wants and not to live where there might be someone wanting to stab you and you have to be careful in every move you make.
"It must be unfair for you my dear. Your son only knows that you are part of it but he doesn't know that his own mother actually does the killing."
Andrea Fischer one of Mary's trusted people under her. Andrea was Mary's top and favorite assassin, she's the one who eliminates the people who betrayed them and the people who hurt them.
Back then they used to argue a lot and hate each other's presence but now it's different.
"Dear, you don't kill without a reason." Zack also had the same reaction as Zen when he found out Mary is a part of a gang. As a son of the general and being surrounded by so many laws, to him it's natural to react like that. Feeling disgusted by people who broke the laws.
Andrea just smiles and stood up, "I'm going to sleep now. Don't stay up late." She kissed her husband's lips before walking out.
